Rather than viewing Instagram or other social or content networks as certainly harmful, I would only suggest that you look at what people are accomplishing in Instagram, and see if you want/need any of that.For example, people might share a hobby that becomes a profession by posting photos and videos of them doing what they love and do well, teaching, and building an audience based on their prowess. When they build enough of an audience based on what they share, and have engagement evidence (likes, comments and follows) to prove that their audience is attentive and engaged, they can attract sponsors, who will pay for them to use products/service - that are typically given to them free of cost.That’s one example of using Instagram in a holistic way to better yourself, and give to the world - while making a paying job out of what had always been for the person just a pastime, a hobby.Others are straight up pushing their wares. That sometimes works, too.Too many are just being narcissistic asshats, a parade of selfies, photobombing glarorous cars and locations… And as such, I can see someone wondering whether they really would want to wade in the worthwhile - yet murky - waters of Instagram.It is what you make of it and you view what you choose to view in Instagram.
