A Caterham's fun but it's not really a practical daily runner. As for the other two..... Imagine someone you fancy asks you what you drive, and you can say either 'Porsche' or 'Nissan'.... £15k would get you a decent secondhand BMW 650i or a Maserati 3200GT, both of which would be miles better than any damn Nissan.

Well, no "fast" new cars will hit that price point. All the 2015 models are in the $20K and higher range. Even the 2015 Miata is $24K... so, we're looking at used cars for this question.I like Japanese sports cars, and a few European ones - I think America does not know how to make a sports car, we know how to make muscle cars, which is not quite the same thing. You can't beat the looks of an RX-8, and they are rare so you will get noticed, particularly by the ladies - it's a very sexy car. It is not super fast off the line, but it has a driving experience that can't be described, it's just really nice. Not a drag racing car though - you need to be able to steer to enjoy the RX-8. IMO, they are just great looking cars too...Walking up to this, knowing you're about to drive it - well, it gives me a rush every time. I've had the car for 18 months, had an RX-7 before, I've driven plenty of wicked fast cars, but this one just grabs me, every time.My next favorite car is the Nissan 350Z - I hate the looks of it, but it's a really fun driver! It is fast off the line, it is aggressive, has decent handling (but not like the RX-8, not even close) - it feels roomy, not cramped like the RX-8, but I'm 6 feet tall and comfortable in either one. If you go back to 2006 or so, you can pick up one of these for less than $15K in decent condition.There are of course, many other sports cars available in your price range: the VW Beetle, the VW GTI, the Mini Cooper, the Mitsubishi Eclipse, Mazda Miata, Toyota MR2! and Infiniti G35. But, I think if you look for an RX-8 or 350Z, you'll do quite well.

It’s a matter of perception. It’s the one you like.I’m not sure on what part of the planet you are at…If it was where I live… I’d go for a 2008 or so Aston Martin DB9, a BMW M6 or a Porsche GT4. There is no way I’d put that money on something American. It would be European with no doubt. Lots of options out there but those three would be on top of my list.

Dont listent to the guy above me, there is a reason why FORD IS GOING BANKRUPT....all american brands are garbage, honestly, i speak with experience, i had a 2004 mustang cobra, and it had problems as soon as it got to 90k miles...i would suggest a 2005 subaru wrx impreza, 2.0 w/ turbo..there great on gas mileage and have power, and subaru's are known to go over 300k miles....its all wheel drive so its alot of fun in the rain or snow...anyways i have mine which i listed for 18k to sell a few months ago, now im desperate since nobody is buying, so i would give it aways as low as 14k, just think about it...thanks
