What Stage Of Labor Is My Dog

Im not sure if my dog is in Stage 1 Labor?

So my dog is on her 62nd day of her pregnancy and im not sure if she is in labor yet. My vet told me she should have puppies of the end of LAST week (Thurs,Fri,Sat) But now its wed. and im still not sure if shes in labor. Normally shes a VERY active dog, And shes been sleeping in her whelping box or staying right by my side, She has most of all the signs of being in labor, But she still hasent gone. Shes had these signs since Saturday But still nothing. Iv called my vet a few times, even the 24 hour vet and they keep telling me, Shes probably gonna have them soon like within 24 hours and since saturday STILL NOTHING! im getting kinda nerverous but i just want to do whats best for my dog and i was wondering if anyone else has any other info that i can do, or whats going on. Last night she started leaking a small amount of clear fluids, and then this morning ALOT, but still nothing. I called the vet this morning and they told me her water MIGHT have broken but she acting ok, no pain

I believe my dog is in the early stages of labor?

I thought that she was in labor a few days ago but it turned out that she wasnt, since she was a stray and came to us already pregnant we have no idea when she was bred, she is a small terrier mix and today she has not eaten, i fed her at 3pm and she took one bite, she has been laying in her whelping box for the last 5-6 hours, she has wrapped herself up in the comforter and is just laying there, which is unusual for her because she usually just lays in the middle of the living room floor, she has also been kind of scratching her butt on the floor quite often she wont stay in one place for longer than 15 minutes then she will move and lay back down, for the last 30 minutes or so ive noticed her vulva kind of twitching and she will snap around and look at her backside sometimes biting herself down there, i took her temp and its 98.9 its been running around 99 for the last few days, she also will get up and follow me wherever i go, any idea when she will begin active labor?

How long does the first stage in a dogs labor last?

How long are the stages of labor for a Shih-Tzu?

If you're scared, have someone experienced there to help you. Like your mentor that you met when taking your female to the dog shows to get her the champion title. Thank goodness you paid for all her health tests to be done and only let a quality stud breed with her. Thank goodness you have money set aside for a possible C-section. And thank you so much for getting her all her prenatal check ups, like a good responsible breeder!

For goodness sake, do some research before your female whelps.

Does a dog bleed before labor?

No, if bleeding occurs during labour it is a sign of trouble, the placentas are becoming detached, then if it is untreated, a green discharge will follow, the placentas will be completely detached by this stage. This indicates dystocia, and a caesarian is needed. so, at the first sign of blood, get her to a vet asap. Once the placentas detach, the puppies start dying.

Our dog has been in labor for about 18 hours and still no pups?

this is a serious emergency, you might loose your dog. she might be bleeding internally and the puppies are obviously in distress.
please take her to the vet asap

your vet is a moron,

Labor Behaviors seen in the first stage of labor include: loss of appetite, panting, restlessness, and nesting behaviors. Active labor begins less than 12 hours later, and the first pup is usually produced after 2 to 6 hours of active straining. There is generally less than an hour between the birth of each pup, and the dam may stop straining for a while between pups.

A placenta should be delivered after each pup; it is normal for the dam to eat the placenta.

She should also clean the pups up herself, but may need help removing the sac from the puppies’ faces.

When to call the veterinarian Signs that may indicate a problem include:

Any illness in the dam History of problems delivering pups in the past More than 24 hours between drop in rectal temperature and onset of active labor More than 3 hours of active straining with no pups produced More than one hour of active straining between pups Constant, unrelenting straining for 1 hour with no pup produced Labor stops before all pups are delivered Lochia:

My dog is showing the first signs of labor, do I need to stay with her all day? Please answer ASAP!!?

Ok so my dog is very pregnant, today is day 61, so she's just on time. Ive done a huge amount of research so I know what to expect and Im 99.9% sure she is in the first stage of labor. She is panting, breathing hard and whining when i leave her side. This all started about an hour ago. My vet told me not to leave her alone during hard labor, which I wont. My question is whether it is ok to leave her for a few hours now? I know that the first stage of labor can last up to 12 hours as the cervix dilates and all I can do at this point is be sure that she has water at all times. I have a final exam at school that lasts about 2 hours today and am wondering if it is ok for me to leave her for that period of time while she is in this stage? My dog is part of my family and I would never want anything to happen to her, which is why Im so concerned. Any advice?

My dog is in labour and wants to go outside?

My dog is in labour and she wants to go outside...should I let her? My concern is that we live on a farm and there are any number of places she could disappear off to and have the pups! It is very cold outside, and I really don't want her to disappear and not be able to find her...any advice would be appreciated!

Could my mini schnauzer be in the first stages of labor?

my mini schnauzer is 59 days gestations, this morning she started her nesting, hiding under the coffee table and snooping through the house, she has been outside several times today but i don't think she is using the bathroom, she just stands in the yard and stares with this blank look on her face. i have been taking her temp several times a day for the last week and it averages 99.7, some times it goes up to 100.3 and as low as 99.2, yesterday morning it went as low as 98.6 but then back up to 99.8 today it started off 98.6 and went down to 98.1 but since it has gone up and down and back up now it is 99.5. for today. for 3 days she was panting and breathing hard but today she has not been panting or breathing hard
