What Stereotype/clique/style Does This Guy Fall Into

Why do young people form cliques?

The stereotype of cruel, unwelcoming cliques is well supported throughout schools in cliques of both sexes and in later adolescence, mixed sexes.

Cliques usually have 5-7 people but vary. They form partly to replace parents, partly to provide members with close allies, and friendship and are defined by common attitudes and activieis, orientation toward school, teen culture and involvement in antisocial behavior.

Studies show that long-term outcomes for the most isolated individuals and the most popular individuals are worse than for most other kids after adolescence.

Hollister stereotype?

dont you guys who wear hco and abercrombie and that kind of clothes get sooo mad when people start saying that you have no personal sense of style and that you only buy expensive clothes because you want to be popular! it makes me want to punch them in the face! i actually like hollister and wear it a lot for that reason, not to keep being popular, and how can you say that we have no personal sense of style, of couse we do, we like good looking clothes! i mean, have you ever thought that the reason so many kids wear it is because it looks good!

List of High School Cliques?

Well, as I know it...

Girls

Populars - Usually rich, fab and totally fake. In that clique, there is an alpha (Leader, aka Queen Bee) betas, (Alpha's best friends, aka wannabees) and just gorgeous people.

Nerds - Smart, studious, and somewhat socially awkward. They usually have friends, but are ferociously picked on by those above them

Wannabees - Strangely, they are a clique all on their own. They are usually somewhat rich and insecure, and follow the word of the populars, especially the queen bee, like the law.

Stoners - Druggies. No explination necessary.

Emos/Goths - The 'misunderstood's. They usually resent all that is pink and flirty and bouncy, going for the darkness and sometimes, cutting. Heavy metal, screamo, and hardcore rock are all signs of this clique.

Drama geeks/Losers - Those people that are not cheerleader-energetic, but rather, stupidly energetic without any popularity at all. Therefore, they are usually grouped with the Wannabees.

The average Joanne - Is a B student, is involved in some sports, and wishes she could be popular, but doesn't worship. Has friends and a normal, somewhat plain sense of style. Could easily turn into a loser.

Jock girls - Sports obsessed, they try out for every sport that there is, get on the team, and boast.

Guys

Jocks - Those fab guys who hang with the popular girls, flirting and groping while they laugh and punch each other. The typical stereotype is for them to be stupid, and some are, but don't let that get you in a narrow-minded state. They play sports, are toned and hot to most.

Nerds - Guys who are smart, both book and computering-ly. Is one of the groups of guys who wish they could know more girls.

Losers - The kids that have nothing. They aren't smart, rich, happy, druggies, or anything. They simply exist. Some turn to stoners or emos/goths.

Emo/Goth - (Same as girl, only more.. physical, tortured.)

Eugh, Sorry I wasn't more detailed with guys, but I don't know that much about them. :)

Do you feel pressure to conform to gay stereotypes?

Oh Man, you hit the nail on the head. That's part of the reason I can't stand 90% of the gay guys I meet. I dress pretty well, but that's in straight standards. All of my guy friends are straight, and we play beer pong on the weekends, go out and party, and have a blast. Me being gay isn't an issue, even though they are very well aware.

I've got three older brothers, and I just click better with straight people. Every time I've attempted to broaden my horizons and meet other gay guys my age, I get really disapointed at the fact that I feel like i'm hanging out with one of my girl friends, only they seem to be worse when it comes to the drama. I don't use words like, "Fierce", and I can't imitate a typical gay voice for ****, haha... my straight friends do it better.

I can relate to you, because before this summer, I didn't feel like I belonged ANYWHERE. I joined at frat in college, and I got along GREAT with the guys, but after I left there, and came back home, some of my guy friends from highschool didn't know how to treat me as an equal.... so I looked around to see who else was out there, and I managed to find the best friends I think I'll ever find.

I think most of the guys that act steriotypical gay are either too big of ******* to be themselves that they just conform to bad examples that make themselves stick out. And then there are the ones that are just straight up crazy.

The first person that was gay that I considered close to as a friend wasn't real enough for me. And then he got a boyfriend, and the day I met his boyfriend, the boyfriend broke up with him, and started persuing me!!! I don't know why gays seem unable to NOT cause drama, but I've never been a fan of drama, and I sure as hell won't put up with it. I don't talk to either of them anymore, because that's not normal. I find comfort in straight people, but you just gotta find the right ones that will acknowlege that you're normal, and treat you like they treat their straight friends.

Keep looking for people man, and I promise you'll find your place. Be confident, and remember that just because you're gay, doesn't mean that defines you. That's SUCH a little part of you, and although that's hard to realize, it's completely true. Be Proud... but not Loud... you'll get further in life, and be respected more for it.

You seem like a really cool person though, I like you're style, so you fit in my book at least.
