The only way that war can be justified is to prevent annihilation or slavery. For example, if you were being invaded by the ancient Romans, would you fight to save yourself and your loved ones? Or succumb to death or worse, slavery.So the question can be, what can we do to preserve our freedom against an invading army?A real life example would be the Japanese invasion of China back in WW2. Or the German invasion of France in WW1. Even the infamous WW2 attack on Pearl Harbour would have raised a legitimate question of war.There are many historical examples of a nation or peoples that were forced to ask the exact same question. Even if they were likely to lose, they went to war anyway. Take the famous Battle of Thermopayle, otherwise also known as the 300 Spartans. In case you didn't know, they are the only reason we still have and practice democracy. If the Persians had won, democracy would have died with the ancient Greeks.

And Voila they would have been selected !!!!

The use of prepositions in such phrases is more based on conventional usage than on logic or on grammar per se. (So for example “close up the store” and “close down the store” mean pretty much the same thing).So I can tell you that in contemporary American English, “the answer to this question” is proper and common usage. And that “the answer of this question” is perfectly understandable (and could be logical), but sounds awkward and unusual. I suspect that British English etc would be the same but defer to others on that.

I have always thought it means a couple of things.  Why does life do what it does.  Why is it here? What's the point of all this birth and death and struggle.What is the point of my life.  Why am I here. Most people really want an answer to the second question.  If you want the answer?  It isn't too hard.First, answer item #1.Life is here, simply to continue.  To live for as long as it possibly can.  I watched a small tree once for a few minutes.  There was so much going on when you really looked at it, it made me ask, why does it have all the leaves and roots and aphids on it.  Why does it produce fruit, and oxygen, and why do the lady bugs...?   Anyway, the immense complexity and seeming futility of it all really hit me.  Why does the aphid exist to feed the ladybug, why does tree grow just to be chewed on by bugs?  Because that is what Life needs for itself to exist, and to continue to exist.   Item one is the bigger picture, bigger than humankind.  Humankind is the greatest hope and the greatest liability at this point.  We have the ability to weaken and destroy Life, but we also have he ability to spread it, beyond Earth even. How cool is that. Now back to the second item.  Your individual purpose needs to be consistent with the answer to item one.  You need to play your part.  Everyone has a part, but don't worry, the best way to play it, is to be yourself.  If you want to be a jerk, be the best jerk you can be.  If you want to help people and devote your life to it.  Be the best at helping people that you can.  Be who you were born to be.  This can be taken to the extreme, there are people who start wars and do terrible things.  There are also heroes that stop these terrible people.  I love heroes and hate tyrants, and generally love funny nice people.  But life at some point may need to have a psychopath because they are the only people that can survive some future trial. Or maybe  Life is stronger with diversity as beautiful or as ugly as that can be sometimes.
