What do I do after high school?
Don't go to music school. I was a music major and most of my classmates were not able to get any kind of paying job in music. They work in other non music jobs and fields and many have trouble paying back their loans. I was able to get a music teaching job that is low paying (I am below the poverty line) and I had played my instrument since I was a small child. If you are into music, what I suggest is get into a job that pays well and leaves you free on evenings and weekends for music. You don't neccesarily need college for a good paying job, many good paying jobs can be learned at a vocational school, or in the trades, apprenticeship, etc.
I don't know what to do after high school?
Join the club. Many of us don't know. I'm surely not 100% positive. For years, I, like you, thought I had it all figured out. But then I discovered other passions and now, my mind changes everyday. But luckily I'm a junior, so I have the rest of this year and the summer to figure it out. I know many seniors who STILL have no idea what to do with their lives. They're either taking a year off, or going to a university/community college as an undeclared major. There's nothing wrong with being undeclared, but I'd like to avoid it, as it just sounds complicated to me. Take the route you think is best for you. Maybe going as undeclared will do you justice. You'll get exposed to a variety of classes, and you may find your passion.
What to do after high school?
It is smart not to go right to college if you have no idea what you want to do, even though people will continue to ask you where you are going. You could go and have an undeclared major, but if you don't even have any posibilities yet, that might be a waste. You could take classes part time at a community college (cheaper option) and maybe you will find something interesting. While you are going, you can talk to the career counselors of the college (they are usually much better than the ones in a high school). If you like the idea of joining the navy, then look into it. If not, try taking a career test online-it will ask you your interests and give you some ideas of what you might like. here is one website: http://www.pacareerzone.org/ip/ If you don't want to go into the military, get a job that you think might interest you while you decide on if you want to go to college and what you want to study. You could look at technical schools, they might have more options for someone who likes gaming but not math (i.e. computer programming type courses).
What did you do after highschool?
After graduation from high school I took a year of rest and thought as to where to go from this point in my life. This was a time where I seemed lost at times, not knowing where to turn next. It was a bit disturbing to me and others in my family. I worked for awhile until deciding to return to school(college). Within this period I became quite sick and required more time away from my schooling. Over the next number of years I recovered from this sickness and am now back on my own path,once again. When looking back upon high school I see things that were never noticed before. Being one whom is literally a hard worker in the years of going to school, I wish that I had used this time of high school differently. Today I see high school more as a time to learn of life through experiences than that of book knowledge. When looking back on my days in school and upon leaving this place I wish that this is more of what i would have done. The concept of experiencing my schooling was lost by myself and this is something that I truly regret about those years and beyond. If this were my situation,like it was for many of my former classmates, I think that the whole of myself would have been much different and better than what it is today. For me the whole idea of parties,proms,games was lost due to my own decisions. This is something that I would love to take back and do over. Today I am doing this over or catching up with others that performed this form of education many years ago, when it should have been so done, by me. It is working,yet, I feel that there is still a ways to go before I can say that it has been done to the fullest of its potential; equal to others my age. It is my belief that whether you do this or not, the outcome will be this very question asked here. One will either be in the know of how society functions or like me; having to catch up with this group, later on in life, as a form of compensation. High School works this way for all, whether one follows the path of learning before them or not. I did not do it quite right.
I don't know what to do after high school?
I'm about to be a freshman in high school and ever since 4th grade our school district has shoved college down our throats even taking us to a local college. And I'm asked constantly what I want to major in, what do I want to do with my life. The thing is I don't know. I've been in advancement classes ever since I could remember had to take honor classes at the high school during 8th grade because I was advanced for my grade but not enough to skip a grade. It seems like I have to go to college, but it seems extremely difficult with my parents income, even if i could get grants, loans and scholarships. I'd have to pay the loans in the end, and who knows how long it would be to be able to get a job to pay for them. I'm interested in entering the military, I have siblings in the Air Force and Navy and they say they don't regret enlisting and have great benefit. I want to because I'd have a for sure paycheck and most of my expenses would be paid and I'd be able to save. Except I don't know what I would do there either and my parents don't want me to enlist... Sorry I made this so long.
What are your plans after high school?
This answer is different for me than most of you guys. You see, High School finishes in tenth grade here.I’m in tenth grade. School finishes in December.It’s July now, right? That’s like five months. I’ve already been admitted to a chill college. But it’s the most liberal, feminist, vegan place ever. I give myself a month fore I alienate everyone there.Anyways, my plans are to enjoy the six weeks of summer break. Go to a lot of parties. Drink so much alcohol it takes five years off my lifespan. Do some drugs. Maybe contract an STD or two. Oh, and whenever I’m not doing those things I’m gonna drink Kale Smoothies and eat lean chicken and work out and read wholesome books. Balance out extreme bad with extreme good.Oh and then I’ll start college. Write on Quora a lot. Expand the internet media I can produce. Do business classes because they can get you most places. Fuck around and be social in the meantime.Then graduate, work a manual labour job and make my resume better until I can get a job that doesn’t suck.Then I work that job till I die. Spend most of my early 20s telling myself I’ll move out of my parents’ place and never do because it’ll mean having to sacrifice either Netflix or Spotify Premium. Then, if my internet rambling hasn’t brought me some success, I’ll wallow in sadness until my mother or Last Good Friend (tm) makes me join a social activity. Then I’ll meet some girl who’s mildly interesting and get tricked into marriage somehow. Then I’ll live in misery and debt and die at like 63 of heart-related problems.That’s assuming I don’t blow my brains out along the way. Hurray
I don't know what to do after high school.?
All right, this probably sounds like a broken record, but I don't know what to do. I'll give some info about my school stuff to help out any answers. I'm currently a junior, school year is gonna end soon. I have carried at the least a 3.8 through high school. On my ACT(first and only try so far) I got a 27. My main problem is nothing appeals to me. No careers, no plans for after high school, no colleges. The only people I can really ask are parents who honestly aren't much help, maybe some of my teachers. The school counselors are of no help, the only thing they do is jam ACT importantness and how you need college-stuff down our throats. I believe I've covered everything.
What should I do after I graduate High School?
Well, you have several options. Is money as tight as you say it is (I understand you because that's my situation as well)? Then take a full time job during the summer and enroll in community college during the fall, and then see if you can take a part time job. If you're interested in certain vocational technology careers (plumbing, masonry, carpentry, construction, electrician, welding etc.), then consider a technical school. Like cars? Consider becoming a car mechanic. You'd be surprised that these careers pay rather well. If you don't think that going to college is your "thing," then maybe the military is. The military could advance a career far more than college, and the G.I. Bill is always there if you decide to go to college afterwards. I am a firm believer that college is not the only option. Don't think you're a failure because of your academics in high school. Your grammar and spelling on Yahoo! Answers is better than others I've seen here ;)
