What To Do When Your Feeling Suicidal

What to do when your feeling suicidal?

I know how you feel. I suffer with depression and every few months or so I just feel like giving up. Even though things are wrong with your life, you have to remember you only live once. Think of all the things that make you happy or thoughtful. A good book you read, a great song, a funny movie, your mom or dad, a sibling. Just imagine how you would feel if you could never talk to them. If it makes you feel bad to even think of that, imagine how they would feel if they could never talk to you. I find thinking about how my mom and dad would react, snaps me out of it. Because I know it would devastate them and it also makes me realize that I love them too much to never see them again. Just hang in there and know that the years of suffering makes us all better people. I think people who suffer depression and other disorders are unfortunate because they suffer, but gifted because finding an outlet for that suffering can open up a whole new world for you. Try doing something creative. Write poems or songs, paint or scult something, make jewelry. Anything that makes you happy and know that if you create anything, you have made a difference in the world.

What to do when I feel suicidal?

Firstly, I'm very sorry about your family member. I promise you that it is possible for you to be happy. There are many different routes to take.

You could hospitalize yourself, probably the most dramatic. My local psych ward is really poorly run, but I've been in a good one, where I could take a little break from my life and work out what was wrong with it.

You could, and should, get a GOOD therapist/psychiatrist. If you already have one and they're not helpful(everything they say is something you could have thought of, they make you feel bad), then get another one. A psychiatrist can prescribe you medication, and though drugs don't always work, in my case, and in the cases of some of my friends, they have been miracles. Stay away from Prozac though, it has been reported to do bad things to young people and I nearly killed myself while on it.

Change your life. Move or work on moving. Get a new job, ditch your old one. Create an alter ego. Do some kind of art. Be really honest with people and see what happens. Find out what's wrong with your life and see if you can fix it.

Usually, changing your life is easier when you've already learned coping mechanisms or have altered your brain chemistry. So I'd go a therapist first; they're great at helping you change things.

You can also go to chatrooms for depression and suicide and just start venting, or call a hotline. And I HIGHLY recommend Kate Bornstein's 101 Alternatives to Suicide for Teens, Freaks, and Other Outlaws.

What to do if you are feeling suicidal?

there is not any such venture as a existence "ruined" with the aid of age 17. sometimes existence takes us in instructions we did not assume; sometimes that is quickly demanding to handle; yet each thing has a manner of working itself out in the top, and you will hit upon a existence you're happy with, the place you're effectual at issues that easily rely to you. there is truly not lots you're able to do approximately your mom's alcoholism, different than understand which you are able to't place self belief in her. you will desire to be somewhat stronger than the widely used human being, for that reason - and that's unfair, and it sucks, yet in the top that is going to in basic terms make you a greater effective human being. As on your intrusive gay urges - properly, there is two opportunities. the 1st is which you have a sort of obsessive-compulsive illness that makes you think of loopy issues you recognize deep down are not real (to illustrate, some obsessive-compulsives can't have faith their hands are sparkling even while they are staring at sparkling hands, or can't have faith they did not run a pedestrian over on the line even nevertheless they have not have been given any memory of doing so). the 2d hazard is which you're bisexual or gay, and which you're in the closet, and your sexuality is making an attempt to interrupt with the aid of. And if that's the case, properly, ultimately you will in simple terms would desire to settle for that your existence is unlikely to be precisely what you concept it substitute into. truly it is easy to have a kinfolk and childrens - a large style of gay and bisexual adult men do. you have as many concepts as you like; your sexuality does not tension you to assume any specific way of existence. In a pair years, you would be out of the homestead and on your human being, your mom's alcoholism isn't as urgent a subject, and you would be able to commence development your grownup existence. that is an thrilling time, and maximum of the human beings describe their early 20s as a time they enjoyed and precious and (easily) pass over. you would be an absolute fool to kill your self and pass over out on those marvelous years.

What can you do if your feeling suicidal?

first off, tell someone in your location about this, like a friend or relative--anyone who can sit and hang around to make sure, no matter what--THAT YOU DON'T DO IT. An emergency call to a therapist or psychiatrist or any other type of medical person would also be advisable so you can get help ASAP if it gets worse. Second, distract yourself. Make yourself intrested in something, like, watch a new movie, read an engrossing book, do something that takes all your attention. And then this is what I do when I have an attack of panic and think I would flip (I have OCD, and a very big fear of hurting myself like that...) basically begin to associate pain with objects that could hurt you. Like, take time, look at something that is potentially deadly and condition yourself so that you begin to fear the pain that object could inflict. and do that as much as it takes. Pain, pain, pain, pain...think of how PAINFUL death can be. Make yourself think of living as easier than dying and most important GET PROFESSIONAL HELP. These measures are kind of pathetic, last-resort things. You need professional help.

What do I do? Feeling suicidal.?

Honey, honey, honey. Calm down, life isn't so bad when you stop and take a look around.

If you can't really explain the episode you mentioned, move on from it. Your life seems really quite good, and if the only thing you're worried about is how you look, there are numerous things you can do about that, without making yourself more miserable.

Let me first say that eating only one thing a day as you mentioned will not help you lose weight - believe me, I've done that. I've recently overcome both anorexia and bulimia, and I know that from 6 months of eating very little, it does nothing for you - it makes you unhealthy, and, it slows your metabolism, which my dear, will only add to weight gain. My advice is to eat small, regular meals (5-6 small meals a day rather than 3, as this speeds your metabolism), ensuring you eat protein and carbohydrates with each meal. Chewing gum, also, is not going to help your weight loss efforts, if that's what you're trying to do. Gum is a laxative, and many people mistake this as a means of weight loss - wrong. It sure does send you to the toilet a lot, but, it actually makes you bloated, which may be the reason you are feeling so unhappy about yourself. I recommend combining cardio exercise (running, walking, etc) with weight-bearing exercise (speeds up your metabolism, tones, etc). Try looking at http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/ for some exercise and health ideas.

You mention that your family life isn't all that great. Have you tried talking to someone outside your family about this? A visit to the doctors can be confidential if you ask it to be. Or simply talk with a trusted friend. I'm sorry I can't offer too much advice on that point.

A few extra little tips - I find that green tea is a wonderful stress-reliever, provided you add a little honey or splenda (it can be bitter otherwise), as is meditation (look on the itunes music store for free meditation podcasts). Also, make time for yourself, do things that you love. When everything seems horrible and you feel as bad as you describe, why not watch a movie you love, look through old photos, go for a walk and experience nature, or even paint your nails. Making time for yourself is the key to happiness, I find.

Good luck cookie, I'm sure everything will work out just fine. It's a rough patch, but you'll pull through!

What to do if im feeling suicidal?

My father committed suicide when I was 10. It has changed my life and robbed me of one of the most loved and important people in my world. I know that there are people that love you and that would die if anything like this happened. I know that sometimes we need more of a reason to live than to just avoid hurting other people. Your life is precious, irreplaceable, and no matter how bad things get at times inside, you have to have faith that they will change. Nothing in life ever stays the same. It is always changing. There are so many experiences in life that you will miss out on if you do this. There are so many beautiful things in life that are waiting for you and that will fill you with joy - even if for moments - and you WANT to experience these things. I promise. Life is a gift. It is taken prematurely everyday from people who never wanted to give it up. if you're in pain, talk to someone and tell them how you feel. There must be one person that you can talk to. I know it feels like things will always be this way; but that's not true. Do not cheat yourself of your life and do not take away from other people a person that they love dearly. If you're gone, you WILL BE MISSED - and you will miss out. I hope that you will hang on and seek help and comfort from someone that can help you. Do not hesitate to get help. It doesn't have to be embarrassing. We all need people to lean on at times.

Much love and hope. :)

What should I do if I have suicidal feelings?

One should get professional help and counselling. I myself have seen through a lot of worst for past 3 years I would rather skip the story for some other day. Standing 3 years back when everything started going haywire I used to repent cry look at the wall and spend hours waiting for time to pass away. I took a number of wrong decisions.I got hold of few drugs which can help to end my life. Cursed God cursed everything then came the period of working seeing people's suffering I thought I'm lucky enough. Then came my parents shared with them everything. Yes they are disappointed they want their son to crack post graduation asap. But still they stood by me still doing that even after all these bad memories. Now to talk about my partner Dr.Vidisa Bose a girl I met 7 years back she has been the biggest strength for me till date. And she knows me better than I know myself. Yes and I too took professional help from a teacher of mine. Today I am positive I want to make my life count I want to be the best doctor nor by money but by helping people. I run two charitable clinics it gives me immense happiness to help people. Sometimes when people say to my dad you're his father he too feels a tiny bit proud. I do not know anyone reading my answer would know Dr.Vidisa Bose but if you do tell her I'm proud to be a better half of her and I thank her for withstanding all my tantrums my mood swings and what not. Only you would stay and no one else would have. I would say look around there aren't many people as lucky as you. Everyone has their fair share of struggle life for none is a bed of roses. Just Arise Awake Smile Meditate Find a hobby Help people in need concentrate on work and study take responsibility. Your parents have done a lot to grow you up don't let them spend their days shredding tears. AND REMEMBER THAT THERE IS ALWAYS LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL. AND one more advice LIFE IS NEVER EVER GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN.

I am feeling suicidal. What should I do?

Subject should not loose confidence, hope that we are make ourselves down..Please try the level best to live life…Simply living, thinking high, less axceptaion makes lifestyle better,If subject is earning less, maybe parents will be never happy, maybe their axceptaion is more, they maybe don't know how much compitation in this time, need hard work, try to make them sitting together have a conversation,But when we passed this time easily, and improve ourselves, everything will be possible, when subject will say okk this time has to face this situation, maybe some thing to teach us, how we can survive in less but best…Bad time never stay for longer,Be positive, HAPPY itself…If it's making so depressing so go to parents tell them the truth, why subject is not able, tell them not to force, let them try to subject understand,Tell them what subject is thinking about this moment,Subject can remove this stupid thought..Some other reason is their also shared with familyBe confident, that subject will achieve soon….Be positive…..

What do you do if you're feeling suicidal?

It is very hard to determine because I don't know how old you are. Yes, knowing how old you are can help me give you some advice. But being depressed is not as bad as you may think because this makes you desperate enough to do something about it. Instead of committing suicide, how about listen to a certain artist you find interesting but haven't got a chance to listen to. How about a self-help book? Deepak Chopra ?
I understand how you feel, believe me, a lot of people do too. Which is good if you ever want to talk to someone because it's a good way to relate.
A long time ago I spoke to my parents about suicidal thoughts I was having (it was a very difficult time of my life back then) and what I liked most was the way my father responded to me. You'd be surprised how silly some of your problems can seem sometimes as soon as you hear yourself saying them out loud. He told me: "You are at this age when you are young and you start thinking all these stupid things like death. (I laughed) When you are alone, all this crap gets into your head like roaches through peepholes. You are very emotional. Talk about your problems in the living room. Don't take it in the bedroom where you lock yourself up in there. It gets ugly in there. Maybe we should change the color of your bedroom walls. (He laughed) Yellow, maybe?"

And I don't know, but those words always hung on to me. The great thing about it was that my dad and I don't get along so well. Talk to a suicide hotline or a stranger at the library or wherever. We live in a generation where we have millions of options and you are free to do whatever the **** you want. But please, don't resume to antidepressants. Those support the pharmaceutical companies because they help you in one way and they **** you up in another way. They want your money. More than half of the people who take antidepressants can actually solve their problems without it but the pharmaceutical business is the most successful and shady business in the United States.

Sorry for boring you, ha, but I hope this helps. You can message or reply? If you need any other advice. Good luck and take care.
