Can you use a face mask if you have sunburn?

Abby, WAIT. your skin is damaged. WAIT! Use Aloe to ease your sunburn pain. Banana Boat brand works for us Biker's. Fragrance free lotion will also help you. Eucerna is what I use. When your sunburn dwindles and there is no redness..you can do a small portion of your face. But do not rush the healing time you need. Also, drink a lot of water. Water cleanses the body internally. Yes it hydrates you too. Take it easy with the mask. See you at the Beach!

How could I get rid of sunburn on my face? I have it on my nose and on my forehead. What are some ways to get rid of it?

Aloe vera gel. It works wonders. You can get it at most drug stores in the US or you can cut the leaves of the plant and apply the gel directly. It may be sticky but you should coat your skin in a thin layer and leave on and allow it to dry. Do not use soap, do not use hot water and do NOT get any more sun until all the redness is gone. AND next time you should use sunscreen on your face if you expect to be out in the sun for any extended period of time because the sun can still get under most hats/caps.

How do I treat my sunburnt face and lips?

Some suggestions: Take ibuprofen for the next 48 hours (the bottle should contain instruction for dosages, and how often to take pills). This will reduce pain and inflammation. Paracetamol/acetaminophen will not do the trick because it doesn't reduce inflammation as effectively. You can use hydrocortisone cream (available over the counter) for 1-2 days to relieve inflammation and discomfort. Note that hydrocortisone cream is not supposed to be used on large areas of skin, especially for extended periods of time. So you might want to talk to a doctor before starting this. Hydrocortisone and other corticosteroids are often used to treat itching, eczema, and inflammation. Caladryl or other calamine lotions might soothe your skin, but they are not as effective external pain-relievers as ibuprofen. They also won't reduce inflammation in the same way that a corticosteroid will. This is because ibuprofen and corticosteroids target the immune system, which is the source of your inflammation.Drink plenty of water, and stay alert for signs of dehydration over the next few days. Water, fruit juices, and sports drinks are all fine. Any kind of burn on the skin will draw fluid away from the rest of the body. How bad is your sunburn? If you are in considerable discomfort, or have a fever and chills -- please see a doctor immediately. Your face is a particularly sensitive area of the body, and blood supply drains into the brain from various facial blood vessels. If the sunburn leads to any skin tears, you could end up with a serious infection. I don't know what your situation is like, and we are not allowed to give patient-specific advice on Quora. Hence, I think it's a good idea to see a doctor if your face doesn't calm down within the next 12 hours, or if you notice any peeling, blisters, etc.I wrote a more extensive post on treating sunburn here (Alaka Halder's answer to How can I treat my sunburn as effectively as possible? How can I develop an even tan as quickly as possible using the sun?). I'm neither a doctor nor a medical student, and the information I've compiled here is from the Skin Cancer Foundation's website. Citations are in the longer sunburn post that I've linked to. Good luck!

Can I put Epiduo on a sunburn?

I got a sunburn on my face yesterday at the beach and it really hurts (well, it's a sunburn, what did I expect?). Since I have a prescription for Epiduo, and it pretty much chips the skin off the area you put it on, so I was wondering if I would be able to put it on my sunburn. It should speed up the peeling process, right?

Would it hurt? Has anyone done this? What happened?

If you don't have a logical thing to say, pleeease don't comment

Thanks!

Is it safe to use E45 cream on a sunburnt face?

I bought a tube of E45 cream and I read the back and it said it was for itching, flaking, chapped, rough and calloused skin, sunburn and detergent hands.

I'm not sure if it meant just sunburnt hands or any sunburnt skin, will it be safe to rub on my face because I put some on the other day and the redness in my face seems to be fading.

Should i use proactive if my face is sunburn?

i went to the beach yesterday and my face got lightly sunburn, can i wash my face with proactive? i don't want to damage my skin or anything like that. Thanks.

How to treat a really bad sunburn on face?

Sunburn is very very irritating and painful. WHY?Because it happens on the face which has the most sensitive skin on it.To treat sunburn, I made this video that explains alot on how to treat sunburn on faceI hope you enjoy the video:

Putting makeup on sunburn?

Mineral make-up should be fine as it's actually good for your skin! Powder make-up isn't actually mineral make-up. Go to the pharmacy and ask them if they have mineral foundation, it isn't too expensive either.

Also, when you are just at home and you aren't planning on going out or you're going to bed, put aftersun on your face, it will help it to heel faster! :)

Anyway in 3 days your face should look a lot better and it will be less painful!

I hope I've helped!

Good luck
