For year's I've often thought maybe I'm just extremely emotional person. My friends usually have a hard time dealing with my mood swings. I'm 25 and I've had this problem since I was a teenager. I have my moments where I'm extremely angry and then extremely depressed. One minute I'm talking so fast that I don't even know what I'm saying and the next I don't want to talk at all. Sometimes I'm very focused and sometimes I feel like I have ADD. Recently a friend suggested I go see a Doctor to see if maybe I'm bipolar. At first I was upset at the thought, but the more I thought about it I thought maybe she's right. It wouldn't hurt to get checked out. She gave me the number for a local doctor since I don't have a doctor of my own, but I'm afraid to call. I just don't know what to say.. "Hi, I'd like to make an appointment because I think I'm crazy..." what do you say when making this kind of call? I know that the receptionist may not ask what I'm coming in for, but most likely will in order to decide weather it is or is not an emergency, so how do I say I just want to know if I'm bipolar?

I work in a group practice of a primary care office. The most common reason for overbooking in our office is the effort to accommodate a patient who called with urgent symptoms and needed to be seen the same day. When the day’s schedule is already fully booked, this patient would need to be overbooked onto someone else’s slot. There is not a good alternative to this. Surely you wouldn’t want the patient to go to urgent care (charge is much higher for the patient in urgent care or ER.). I usually try to overbook toward the end of morning session or right before the first patient in the afternoon, or onto someone who is young and healthy who will come in for relatively simple symptoms, so to have the least disruption to the day’s schedule. It may sound like overbooking patient could bring in extra income but that is not something doctors would like to do all the time. There are several reasons.First when you work extra time (let’s say into lunch hour), the doctor needs to pay the nursing staff for the extra time because nursing staff are paid hourly.More importantly, the doctor’s day becomes more hectic. Other patients may have to wait longer in waiting room. No one likes to wait extra time, no matter what the reason is. Doctors cannot really explain to you why they are late for you.
