19 years old and still can't talk to girls?
I have never had a girlfriend and have never had my first kiss yet. The thought of talking to girls scares me especially attractive ones. I feel like i will never find a girl because i am scared and can't talk to girls. For one I have really low self esteem and I have had a lot of things happen in my life like bullying when i was like 14. I am good looking and have a good personally once you seriously try and get to know me and i am a really kind nice guy. But i feel like no girls will ever see that side of me. I see girls i am attracted to everywhere but i can never approach them. Once when i was in 10th grade there was this girl who would always stare at me and i thought liked me. Well to make a long story short I was too afraid to talk to her in the halls at school so i just went the whole year of loving this girl i don't even know and having it distracted me from my school work. I think i failed a few classes that year. It just gets me depressed when i see guys younger than me and my age that have hot girlfriends and are hanging out with girls. I have like 3 girl friends but i am not attracted to them and even though they call me friends and i have their numbers and stuff they never keep in touch with me and I feel awkward around them like i can't be myself. I have wanted a girlfriend since i was 15 and now i am 19 in the same situation i was when i was 15, unhappy and never being able to talk to girls i like. Do you guys have any advice for me?

Other than the girl’s parents finding out and thinking you’re a creep, probably nothing too serious. It depends on what the age of consent laws are in your country. Some places it’s illegal to have sex with anyone under 18 or you can be charged with statutory rape (one of the few crimes that can get you a life sentence, at least in the US), other places people can have sex as young as 15 or 16.Don’t ask her for nudes. If you ask a person under 18 for nudes and they send them, you can be charged with soliciting child pornography and she could be charged with distributing child pornography, both of which are pretty serious crimes.

Talking to people online is a crap shoot. You only know what that person tells you. They might be 19 or the might be 57. They could be in prison, in another country. The important thing is that you remember this and don't get emotionally involved with this person. Clearly the biggest threat is that this person is an online sexual predator. If I were your parent, this possibility would keep me up at night.Seriously, how many 19 year olds do you know hang around with 14 year olds? Not many. That is because you and he are at different developmental stages. He needs to learn how to be in a relationship with someone in his age group. You need to learn about healthy friendships with people in your age group. Why does age matter…because 19 year olds have more life experience and are adults than 14 year olds. This gives them and edge over you in a relationship—they have more power and the relationship is not one were you are equal.I would add that anyone who tells you things like: you are mature for your age, that he thinks of you as being older, that you are the only one that understands him, expresses a wish to see you or send you a present, end the relationship immediately. This is a text book example of how sex offenders groom their victims. I don't want you to be hurt by this person. And for heaven's sake let your parents know what is going on. Their job is to help you navigate your way through life.

It is not a very smart thing to do and it is territory a 19 year old should not want to get into. We are talking “adult and child”. A 12 year old isn’t even a teenager yet. This is a child. The 19 year old is considered an adult in this situation. It amazes me that a 19 year old would want to have anything to do with a child. We are talking someone who isn’t even in high school yet. We are talking middle school here. Really? The conversation will be very juvenile, at best, and rightfully so when you are talking to a juvenile. There is nothing a 12 year old child should be able to do for a 19 year old adult. If you are this person or you know this person, don’t go there or tell the person, “don’t go there”.
