What Type Of Interview Questions Does Meijer Ask

Meijer job interview?

I filled up applications for jobs last week on Monday Meijers called me back and said I had interview which was yesterday at 6pm. I went in and the lady confirmed that I got the job after I filled out some more paper work ect and said yes to a background check. I made a good impression, straight posture, smiling, and was very confident. She asked me if I had any relatives that worked in the store and I told her my older brother does, he's only been working at meijers for 3 months and he got promoted to the manager position she was impressed by this and said that she thinks just from talking to me that is get as far as my brother if not farther. She shook my hand and told me that I have the job if my background check comes back cleared. I have nothing on my record. I'm curious to know how long will a background check take? She said 5 days and I could start as soon as next week since I stated im available to work at anytime. I'm also wondering will the fact I dropped out of highschool affect me getting the job? I'm going to get my GED next month ect I'm 18 years old and I dropped out 2 years ago because of the bullying from the females on how pretty I looked and how the guys wanted to get with me and the captain on the football team was one of the cheerleaders boyfriends so her and a couple of the other girls on the squad jumped me in the gym locker room and the teachers were racist towards me (all white school) and acted like I was lying and threatened to have me suspsened or expelled. I tried to tell my parents but my father was abusive and told me I deserved it so I left school and home and have been living with my aunt ever since. I'm just wondering will the fact that I an a drop out affect e getting this job? Background check wise.

I have a job interview with petsmart tomorrow. what kind of questions should i ask?

Just try to keep calm and don't ramble if you get nervous. I suggest you honestly think of some questions that would really want answered, something about the position, rather than "so what's my pay gonna be?" or "I'm not going to have to clean up poop, right?" The interviewer will say a lot during the interview, so think of a follow up you can ask at the end. I've always heard if you ask questions at the end when they ask you "any questions"? that it looks good because it shows you were listening and actually interested in learning more.

What to wear at a job interview at Meijer?

Hi everyone, I have been trying all summer to find a job and my luck has finally picked up. I got a call for a 1st interview at meijer for the cashier/cart/pharmacy tech. position(s). I don't know which one it'll be yet until I have the interview. Since this is not a hospital or business job, I don't think a full on suit and tie will be appropriate is it? Please give me ideas on what to wear ( I am a male ). Also, if anyone else has worked at Meijer, can you give me tips on the questions I may be asked as well as overall work experience?

Thank you!

What to expect during a second interview at Meijer?

I had my first interview at Meijer today , and They told me I have a second one tomorrow now. I'm just not really sure what to expect, how to prepare , Etc and really don't want to mess up my chances of getting the job! What should I expect during a second interview ?

Is it a conflict of interest to work at Sears and Meijer?

I just got hired into a position selling mattresses at my local Sears but its only 20 hours a week and that wont pay my rent. I am in the interview process for a second job at Meijer offering around 35-40 hours a week doing overnight stock replenishment. Of course I haven't said a word to either employer about working at both places. Is it a conflict of interest since they sell some of the same stuff? Meijer could be a competitor because they both sell clothing, small appliances and tools so I'm a little worried I wont be able to work at both.

What to expect on a first job interview?

You are already doing the right things...make a good first impression... smile and shake hands like you do it all the time, say thank you for seeing me. Have a couple of questions ready for them..they always ask you at the end and hardly anyone remembers what they wanted to know. They are going to ask why you think you are the right person for the job...so be prepared with a good answer. Tell them why you would be a happy worker and how nice it will be for their customers to see you happy in your job. They will ask what you have been doing... so have some things to talk about... even if they are helping out at home or friends... no one wants to employ lazy people who do nothing.

Best of luck.

When is best to check status on job application at meijer?

If they are interested then they will call you.. A lot of companies will say that you are hired or they are interested because they know you want and need employment plus its a way of showing you that something will come through for you or they do not have the guts to tell you to your face. The job searching world operate like this, they could lie but if you lie then you will be fired or you wouldn't receive the position. No matter always remember when doing interviews

Whatever "the story" is:

1. Don't believe it a word of it.
2. Never wait around for a response.
3. Never stop applying for other jobs if you decide to wait.

Hope this information was helpful... Take Care

Meijer Tattoo Policies?

Alright...so I have my second interview 4/6/12 at Meijer tomorrow. The thing is; is I am getting a job at a brand new store; (it's not even built yet) originally the person I talked too for my phone interview said that they had yet to figure out a tattoo policy as they know that tattoos are basically unavoidable now-a-days....

but I don't know when or how i should bring up the topic. I basically have the job; and I would hate to lose it because they don't like that i have tattoos. The positions in the store i have asked for are all stocking; I am not upfront letting everyone see me.

I have 3 small tattoos; all of which are not offensive. One is just a paw print; another is a treble clef, bass clef heart with music notes coming off it; and the other is my Halo emblem that is on my Halo spartan in Reach.

So I guess what I am asking; is if anyone who has worked at Meijer; what was your stores policy on tattoos? I know some say if your a cashier you have to cover them; if your stock you don't unless they are super offensive or too big.

What does the term "Individual Contributor Role", the HR guys in IT industry came up with these days?

In earlier days Managers were suppose to MANAGE their team and get the job done. They hardly did anything of their own. But things have changed now. A Manager is a person who manages his / her team but has a significant contribution of his / her own. This means that today’s employees cannot simply rely on their manager to guide their development. Performance appraisal plans have major part of individual performance as well the team's performance. A manager has to be as efficient as his / her team members. Manager too need to be on his toes at all times and should be open to learn new things and skills as expected from the team. Managing the team and at same time keep his performance at par makes it difficult and challenging for the Managers these days. The level of significance between managing and individually contributing has diminished over the years due to the increased importance of specialization. It is more of a complex situation where in you are expected to take your team along-with your personal goals. Managers have to deal with the many personal issues related to the employees who work for them.  This could take up an exorbitant amount of time in the life of a manager.Interviewer is looking for a person who is a good people's person, a good candidate at managing things at difficult times, keeping the team together, and at same time is himself a extraordinary performer.
