What Upcoming Films Are People Excited For

What upcoming Marvel movie are people more excited for, Thor Ragnarok or Black Panther?

My sense is that, despite Thor: Ragnarok (2017)’s great reviews, superhero movie fans are even more excited for Black Panther (2018) because: 1) they liked the Black Panther’s debut in Captain America: Civil War (2016), 2) it’s different, featuring a predominantly black cast; and 3) it opens up the Marvel universe by featuring a new technological society here on Earth.

Are you excited for the upcoming DC movies?

I’m excited for Aquaman and the next Batman (ahem!) but the rest….. I’ll wait for Redbox.

What are you most excited to see in the upcoming Incredibles 2 movie?

The exploration of Jack-Jack's powers.Violet and “Tony Rydingeeer” .Evidence that Syndrome is really gone…or still aliveSome more supers coming out of hiding and teaming up with the ParrsA really cool villain/super-villainBetrayal? That always makes for a good plot!Edna Mole being Edna Mole.Violet/Dash: Discovering new/Advancing their powers. An amazing sequel to lead into ANOTHER amazing sequel.

Are you excited for the upcoming Captain Marvel film?

… Not really.Asides from clips and GIFs from social media (like the one where Carol socks some hag in the face), I haven’t even seen the full trailer yet.I’m going to watch the movie, of course; if I can watch Wonder Woman, why wouldn’t I see Captain Marvel? The reason why I’m not really excited about the movie is that the MCU is getting closer and closer to its “final” endgame, and I just get this feeling that Marvel is starting to lose their touch.Ant-Man and the Wasp was bad, for me at least; entertaining and “funny,” yes, but very much lacking in substance, proving to me that Ant-Man as a film franchise is nothing without Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish’s fingerprints.James Gunn was fucking fired, meaning the only other creative minds employed at Marvel that I still like are Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange) and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok); it’s just a reminder that, despite any efforts from Kevin Feige, Disney will always be the one calling the shots. Not to mention all of the undeserved hype surrounding Captain Marvel too.“Can’t wait to see Captain Marvel beat up Thanos! That bastard killed Bucky, Black Panther, and Spider-Man! HE’S GOTTA PAY!!!”“I don’t want to see puny Nebula defeat Thanos even though that would thematically make sense! It has to be this almighty and inspiring hero that I’ve never seen before!”“Captain Marvel is going to be da most powerful hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe! She can punch planets!”Sure you can, Carol…Another factor that makes me unexcited about Captain Marvel is my growing disillusionment with MCU movies in general.Though I trust Kevin Feige more than I do Kathleen Kennedy, I think I might be slowly getting tired of Marvel movies, especially now that I’ve seen examples of Marvel doing their shit better in other products that I recently watched (or rewatched) this summer. It’s so strange watching stuff like this, then going back to the Marvel movies and watching stuff like Ant-Man and the Wasp, Black Panther, and Captain America: Civil War; Marvel Studios is good/great at making things for casual filmgoers and fans, but doesn’t quite satisfy people who want more heart, passion, effort, and genius put into their products.Like I said earlier, I’ll watch Captain Marvel when it comes out; it would seem unfair of me to watch it simply because of shenanigans Disney pulled off that were completely unrelated to the movie. That being said, I’m still not buying the hype surrounding this film.

How are you excited for upcoming movie Manikarnika?

Manikarnika is a great movie, and my review is also going to be great. I can bet you ;)Okay, so there are only three small points that I have for Manikarnika, it’s about three things.Queen of JhansiAction & NationalismKangana Ranaut.Well, you can argue that the first & third are exactly the same, and that’ll be true too. This movie is all about Kangana Ranaut, and she carries it all by herself, and now it’s up to you to decide whether that is a bad or a good thing! That was the small version of my review, but there’s also a bigger one, where I’ve discussed these points about the movie as well. Why people are against Kangana RanautSonu Sood & Kangana controversy. How Kangana Ranaut has carried the movie all by herself. You can watch the review here, it’s a quick 4 min video so won’t waste your time as well! Thanks for reading & thanks for watching, do comment (here or on the video, wherever you like), about whether you liked the video or not!Cheers!

How excited are people for Christopher Nolan's upcoming movie, Dunkirk?

Very excited. His DP carried by hand a 54-pound IMAX camera. He used real ships from WWII that were at Dunkirk. He used thousands of extras to film realistic battle scenes. It's not a superhero film or a sequel. The film is told in a non-linear approach. It's filmed almost entirely in IMAX.There's a great article from Josh Rottenberg that adds some more details. Christopher Nolan girds for box office battle with his World War II action thriller 'Dunkirk'It feels like we’re carrying a bit more than we realized going into it in terms of what movies can work or can’t work in the summer. — Christopher Nolana British naval destroyer packed with young soldiers is suddenly struck by a German torpedo, and Nolan was intent on conveying the moment’s visceral terror. No detail was too small to escape his notice, down to the clattering of a teacup. As a British filmmaker recounting an important piece of British history, he said, “You feel a huge responsibility. I mean, it’s terrifying to think of what Britain is going to make of this film.”its narrative is lean, with a nonlinear approach to time that Nolan calls “the most radical structure I’ve employed since ‘Memento,’”Nolan sees it, “Dunkirk” is not a war movie per se but rather a kind of Hitchcockian suspense thriller, and his goal for the picture, which he filmed almost entirely in IMAX, is to create an immersive white-knuckle ride that puts the viewer in the shoes of soldiers fighting for survival.the cinema of experience, where you’re sitting in a room with a lot of different people and you’re being taken to a world you’d never normally travel to.”There’s something very unique about the nature of the denouement — as Churchill put it, it’s a victory within a defeat,” Nolan said. “There’s something very exciting about that to me. Some of my favorite films — you think about ‘The Seven Samurai’ — have either defeats within victories or victories within defeats. It’s a great cinematic notion.”We’ve come to a point where we feel like a summer movie has to be a superhero movie or a sequel. And I don’t believe that to be the case.”Christopher Nolan pays great attention to detail. He is the one of best directors of his era.Anytime you see the name, “Syncopy,” [his production company] you should be excited.
