In theory you make your console able to play pirated games, either through download or on a burned BluRay disc. I say in theory because I've never actually seen a working “jailbroken” console.In reality what you're doing is limiting your console. First off you'll be dependent on unofficial firmware that has the potential to break something on your console. Secondly, you won't be able to play online at all since any online play is done through PSN. As soon as a PSN security bot identifies your console as not legitimate (because of the custom firmware) your account, and console, are automatically banned for life.There is also no guarantee that any downloaded/pirated games will actually work on it. The most I've heard of is that there are a few “homebrew” games that are guaranteed to work (user created games for the custom firmware).The warranty is also an issue. Modifying the console's internal parts, or included software/firmware, in any manner goes against the user agreement one accepts the moment you purchase the console (if you ever need warranty service, the warranty comes along with a few terms you must adhere to), so the moment you go about either opening up your console or modifying the software/firmware you're basically throwing out the warranty. If anything happens to your console you're out whatever amount of money you paid to get it, and you'll effectively need to purchase another to replace the one you messed up.In short, it's not worth it to “jailbreak”. If you plan on getting a gaming console, do so only if you're willing to spend the money required on the games you want to play.
What will happen if I update an already jailbroken PS3 to a 4.82 version?
If you update an official Sony firmware then you will not able to play any copied game but if you update Custom Firmware then there should be no problem. You can play any copy game. OK so i was playing call of duty black ops when my Grand Parents TV started to flicker black as thou a wire was barley in so i checked the back of the PS3 to make sure theres was no wires coming out and there was none so after i checked 2 sec later the TV turn off by itself. now i'm like its just the power cord so i check that and its in the wall and noting wrong so now 2 days later the TV still wont turn on did my PS3 have anything to do with this O and the TV still has power in it because it has a built in DVD player with a indicator light next to it the comes on when i plug the TV up and if you put a DVD in it the TV takes sucks it in HDTV Magnovox 32'
Could overheating break a ps3?
That shouldn't be a issue but here are some tips on how to keep it cool. 1. Have at least 6 inches space from the ps3 to a nearby wall or object. 2. Vacuum the dust that gets trapped on the ventilation holes, and in the fat you can see the dust much better. 3. Don't have it in a cabinet if you must then leave the doors open when your using it. If they close the hot air cant escape so it fills up and eventually choke`s the ps3. 4. And don't leave it in a vertical or standing position I know it looks cool but what people don't know is that heat reflects back, not much but still.

ok so my brother was on our living room tv on his ps3 hdmi cables sceptre tv 37 inch and everytime you played a game it make this weird loud beep sound for 1 second before the game loads a week later the tv broke will my 32 inch dynex tv break like the other if i put hdmi or should i just get composite cables
How can I secretly break a ps3?
My friend has been pissing me off to the extreme lately. As much as i'd like to break his nose, I got a better idea. He always comes over with his ps3 the next weekend like nothing happened. Is there a way I can break his ps3 without him knowing I did it? Don't try to morally correct me you don't know believe me he more than deserves this.

I guess this is very late, but there is always personal data on your systems, be it a PC or a phone or a console. So, this is all gonna reside in the hard disk. The type of data is going to be your games, game save data, some PSN information etc. Often times these are encrypted, at varying levels. Game data and save data will be protected so that people cannot easily pirate it, if at all, and is tied to your PSN account and its encryption/other security. Sensitive data like passwords etc are never really stored on the Hard disk (at least in well programmed systems like Consoles such as PS3). They mostly reside on the servers owned by Sony that run the PSN network, but that too is encrypted. With that said, given enough time and energy and brain power, bad guys can always break into security measures, and therefore nothing is never truly secure in this digital age.So, the short answer is if you are worried about the safety of personal information in your PS3, just remove the hard disk and keep it with you or destroy it (in an environmentally friendly way).
