Can You Name Some Popular Doordarshan TV Shows From The 90s That Everyone loved?

11 Shows From Doordarshan That We LovedWe live in a time, when you switch on your TV and you are spoilt for choices. But this is not how it earlier used to be. From the time of Chitrahaar, to the time of Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma now, Television has travelled a journey full of ups and downs. One major contribution in shaping up viewership and reach of television, is of Doordarshan. So, let’s rewind our memories to discuss the shows that we grew up with.1. Flop ShowOne of the most watched shows on Doordarshan, Flop Show was a comedy satire on lives of common people of India. Jaspal Bhatti became a brand name in himself with this show. Jaspal Bhatti wrote, directed and acted as the protagonist of the show. Despite such a short length of the show with just 10 episodes being aired ever, the show managed to enter every household of the country and hold a strong legacy even today. Mr. Jaspal Bhatti, you are missed. *sob* *sob*2. Teletubbies‘Tinky Winky, Gypsy, Lala, Po’, if you remember this, then you definitely know what a delight this show was. This was a British series, that instantly became every child’s favorite show. The characters did not speak, but with their conduct, they surely stole their viewers’ heart.3. Tu Tu Main MainOne of the best comedy series, ever telecasted on Indian television. As clear from the title, the show was about sweet little bickerings, those between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law. The love-hate relationship between saas-bahu was depicted in an adorable & funny way. It’s been two decades, and viewers still have pleasant memories of the show.4. Dekh Bhai DekhThe story was about three generations of the Diwan family, living in Mumbai. How the family managed to hold everyone together despite their struggles and strained relationships with a pinch of laughter made this show everyone’s favorite. The show starred many prominent actors, including Shekhar Suman and Farida Jalal, Naveen Nischal etc.5. Alif LailaAlif Laila was a TV series based on stories from ‘One Thousand and One Nights’. And who says we didn’t have storytellers back in the 80s & 90s. The way the stories were told and depicted, no one dared to miss even a single episode, be it a child or an adult.Read more at -11 Shows From Doordarshan That We Loved - thynkfeed

What are some underrated TV shows from the 60s, 70s and 80s?

60s -The Munsters. A classic sitcom that still holds up today. Very creative and funny show. It's underrated partially due to its age, but also because of the more succesful Addams Family, a very similar show that was also about a family of monsters that aired around the same time.70s- Baa baa black sheep or the Black Sheep squadron. Great show about a group of misfit WWII fighter pilots who become one of the best squadrons in the Pacific. It was based on a real WWII squadron. Lots of action, great acting and writing! Very entertaining and fun show!80s- Amazing stories. An anthology series produced by Steven Spielberg. Very similar to the style of the Twilight zone, its episodes were based on fantasy and horror. While the show is a bit of a hit and miss (some episodes are terrific, others aren't) it's still an interesting show and it's definitely worth a watch!

Back in the 60s,70s and 80s did they have TV shows on air 24 hours a day like we have now?

No, back in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s there were little “marathons” of shows, as programming was limited to one, twice or three times a week. For instance, a new episode of a US sitcom or UK drama on one of the three (and later four and five UK TV channels) would air on a dedicated night. Reruns of favourite shows happened intermittently, scheduled around news, short segments, movies and local shows.Later, in the UK, the Australian Soap “Neighbours” was on twice a day, but the same episode - once at lunchtime and later again at tea time 5pm. An omnibus would be on weekends, as we approached the 90s. Some children’s channels in the 90s started doing marathons of episodes of things like Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on special holidays such as Easter and Christmas.Any more questions, I’d be happy to answer. :)

What was the name of a Nickelodeon show from the 80's-90's where a guy used a marker that made noise?

There was a show on Nickelodeon that would have a guy that would make all of these drawings on screen with this marker that would make this really funny/weird noise whenever he drew. I want to said it aired in the mid 80's to early 90's, but I cannot remember the name for the life of me.

What was the name/origin of a funny wacky race game show in Doordarshan during the 90's? It is generally aired as a filler or during the nights at 11 pm?

It was called Telematch.Telematch was the name given to a syndicated series of 43 programmes from the West German television series Spiel ohne Grenzen originally broadcast on the WDR (Westdeutscher Rundfunk Köln) channel from 1967 until 1980. It was based on its French counterpart Intervilles and originally consisted of a match between teams from two West German towns, except for the last three years' matches (1978-1980), which were contested between five towns. The match composed of several games in which the participants would typically dress up in costumes. Often the costumes were elaborate and designed to increase the challenge of the game by making movement awkward. Games were played against the clock, or as a race. Telematch was produced by Transtel. It was dubbed into English, Hindi, Arabic, French, Spanish, and Malay.Even though I liked Telematch a lot, as a 90s kid, for me the wacky races concept reminds me more of Takeshi’s Castle and The Lengend of The Hidden Temple.
