I have lived there before and I can tell you there are a couple of good ones. El Andes and El Real are catholic private schools with the children of middle-high economic class families; however, these institutions separate boys and girls into two school. El Andes has two schools El Andes, for boys, and El Bosque, for girls. And for El Real there are there are two school Lomas, for girls, and Real, for boys. These two institutions are located in the safest parts of the the city, Lomas. If you’ll like you children to be in a mixed and laic school El Terranova and La Apostolica are two institutions with international baccalaureate certification with great infrastructure. Children from middle class and high-middle class families attend these last two schools.

Why do Monterrey, Nogales and Guadalajara have a higher percentage of whites than Mexico city despite being the biggest metropole in Mexico?

We don’t talk about races as much as other countries do.We are all basically a mixture between white and native american (yes, we do have some black in our ansestry, but less than the other two).Back in the day of Spanish “Virreinato” we carried a score, a very precise caste system. It mattered if your parents were born in Spain, if you were born in Spain, if you were white but born in America (the continent), if you had a black parent, etc.But that was forgotten a long time ago.Now everyone has some mix. We call the more white persons “guero” (which translates to blonde) and the darker ones “prieto” or “negro” (in spanish it is not a bad word, it means “black”), but sometimes that happens within families.In the south there are a bit more native american mix, because the big prehispanic civilizations were from the south. And in the North there are more white race because it was colonized later. But it is not easy to notice the difference.
