In what ways was Nazi propaganda used to target the German youth?

You should have requested a German to answer the question. I’m a Malaysian. How am I supposed to know about the European history and the German history? Anyhow, I will answer your question according to my limited knowledge concerning the history of Germany. The point is simple. The National Socialist party didn’t generate any propaganda in order to attract the youth. Why? Because all teachers and professors during the Hitler’s era were required to be a part of the National Socialist movement. Initially, the membership wasn’t compulsory. However, things changed during the latter years.I disagree with the question calling for the term propaganda because the term is misleading. I will make my explanation simpler. The classroom is the groundwork for the “propaganda” whereas the teachers and professors served as the instruments of “propaganda”. This is more or less same with the situation going on in Israel with Zionism being indoctrinated to the youths in Israel. Millions of youths in Germany were absorbed into National Socialism in the classroom and through extracurricular activities during the Hitler’s era.Hence, the teachers were the principal instruments of what you termed as “propaganda”.

How was the Nazi Propaganda used?

Propaganda, the coordinated attempt to influence public opinion through the use of media, was skillfully used by the Nazi Party in the years leading up to and during Adolf Hitler's leadership of Germany (1933–1945). Nazi propaganda provided a crucial instrument for acquiring and maintaining power, and for the implementation of their policies, including the pursuit of total war and the extermination of millions of people in the Holocaust.

The pervasive use of propaganda by the Nazis is largely responsible for the word "propaganda" itself acquiring its present negative connotations.[1]

How did the nazis use propaganda?

How does any country, business, or even person use propaganda?

Google World War 2 Propaganda and look at a few of the sites.
There are some really good ones on both German and British propaganda as they were the best at it.

Why do we not use propaganda posters any more?

First off, great image! Now propaganda posters are used as a form of persuasion with simple messages plastered on them.Using the theory of persuasion in Social psychology, we can determine that simple messages are best delivered in the following, descending order of effectiveness:Face to faceVideo (visual imaging)AudioWritten wordHence the most efficient and cheapest way to convince people today is to rent air time and flood the internet/tv channels with your audiovisual advertisements.Back in the old days this was not possible as wide spread ownership of TVs only happened around the 1950s and peak ownership of TVs in 1996.Hence why posters were still popular back then (being a mix of Visual imagery and written word they were sort of still better than radio broadcasts).

What was Hitler’s Nazi propaganda?

Adolf Hitler proposed a theory of lebensraum under the Nazi (Nazism is originally an acronym National Socialism in German language ) propaganda. It states that the land and its resources should be utilized for the benefit of German race (i.e Aryan race)which is superior to all the other races. He didn't like the idea of Jews being at higher positions in government services and business. He proposed this theory in his book 'Mein Kampf' which was published in 1925-26, when he was in jail, before his rise to power in 1933. It was because of this Pan-Germanism thought that people of Germany supported him and he was popular.

How did Hitler use terror, nazi achievements and propaganda to control Germany?

Basically, I know that between 1933 and 1945 the Nazis were responsible for:

1. Propaganda - see the film 'Triumph of the Will,' directed by Leni Riefenstahl in 1935

2. Achievements - see the 1936 Summer Olympics, held in Berlin, and in which Germany won the most Gold Medals (33), Silver Medals (26), and Bronze (30). Leni Riefenstahl captured these moments in her 1938 film 'Olympia.'

3. Terror - see the banning of the and the imprisonment and execution of the members of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), as well as the KPD (Communist Party of Germany).

While xo379's answer seems comprehensive, she, like many others, has left the political opponents to Hitler's Nazi regime out of the picture, and has only focused on the Jews. Those who wore the red triangles in the concentration camps were: communists, trade unionists, liberals, social democrats, Freemasons, and anarchists.

To what extent was propaganda used by Nazi Germany to influence the youth?

Nazi ideology  required a control over the young both inside and outside school.. The teachers who were Jews or seen as‘politically unreliable’ were dismissed. Children were first segregated:Germans and Jews could not sit together or play together.Subsequently, ‘undesirable children’ – Jews, the physically handicapped,Gypsies – were thrown out of schools. And finally in the 1940s, they were taken to the gas chambers. ‘Good German’ children were subjected to a process of Nazi schooling, a prolonged period of ideological training. School textbooks were rewritten. Racial science was introduced to justify Nazi ideas of race. Stereotypes about Jews were popularized even through maths classes. Children were taught to be loyal , hate Jews, and worship Hitler. Even the function of sports was to nurture a spirit of violence and aggression among children. Hitler believed that boxing could make children iron hearted, strong and masculine. Youth organizations were made responsible for educating German youth in the ‘the spirit of National Socialism’. 10 year olds had to enter Jungvolk. At 14, all boys had to join the Nazi youth organization – Hitler Youth – where they learnt to worship war, glorify aggression and violence, condemn democracy, and hate Jews, communists, Gypsies and all those categorized as ‘undesirable’. After a period of rigorous ideological and physical training they joined the Labour Service.  Then they had to serve in the armed forces and enter one of the Nazi organizations. The Youth League of the Nazis was founded in 1922. later it was renamed Hitler Youth. To unify the youth movement under Nazi control, all other youth organizations were systematically dissolved and finally banned.
