What Were The 100 Books That Denzel Washington Was Reading In The Equalizer

What book is Denzel Washington reading About in the movie “The Equalizer?

A Knight in Shining Armor, Jude Deveraux, maybe?

Warning: Violent scene from the movie ahead!I liked The Equalizer. It had a few twists and turns that I did not expect and some subtleties that are consistent throughout the movie.Yes, I do agree with Matt Wasserman in that Robert McCall has OCD. His OCD is definitely one of the reasons he frequently checks his watch. But, let’s re-watch the first fight scene of the movie. You’ll see that Robert does not look at his watch after he walks into the room. The heartbeats as he plans the death of each man in the room pass by like seconds.Robert whispers “16 seconds” under his breath and sets his watch timer. He then proceeds to gruesomely kill everyone in the room. When he finishes, we find out he wanted to gauge his execution rate. We know that McCall is some type of ex special forces operative and he acknowledges that he is a bit out of practice. As part of McCall’s OCD, he plans out every little move that he makes. And, since his specialty is killing people in cruel and creative ways, he has a plan for that, too.Denzel Washington checks his watch before he attacks someone because, in his mind, he has a predefined amount of time he thinks it will take him to kill the guy. After he does it, he wants to see how accurate he was.Because, well, how else can you improve your body count if you don’t kill people as fast as possible?By the way, that is one incredible nail-gun.

Off ScriptDenzel was on with Jamie Foxx (link above) and Foxx told the story of him running to hug star Washington when Foxx was an unknown kid, and being subdued by a Washington elbow and he briefly talked about that. I note this story in 2012 (2 years after Eli) that he works out doing boxing and marital arts - Denzel Washington boxes, practices martial arts to stay screen ready - With Denzel being so ripped for the movie Hurricane (1999) and per above, I would guess the hurricane work on boxing and the Martial arts work on Eli and Equalizer, has given him some more rounded skills. But his first MMA was in 1989 Mighty Quinn when he kicks a knife out of a guys hand, that was him. Also I note for Eli Denzel “Worked for months with long time student and friend of Bruce Lee Dan Inosanto on Kali, and I assume his other talents, in Silat, and JKD . - The Book of Eli - Wikipedia - So why all the layers to his skills. On Jamie Foxx he recalled that of all the actors he knows, Leonardo told Jamie he feared Danzel.

McCall suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder and as usual with OCD, insomnia. The rituals are a way he calms himself and makes the world tolerable. At the dinner, this fastidiousness is included with bringing his own tea bag, placing the eating utensils in exact positions and reading without interruption. This was also displayed by Jack Nicholson's character in As good as it gets. In McCall's case, his sense of injustice is an extension of things needing to be right, just so. “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” Mark TwainThanx for the A2Aby Faraha.

In the book of Eli was denzel Washington blind the whole time?

Yep, blind throughout the film.

from www.imdb.com

SPOILER: Hints to Eli's condition are shown throughout the movie: - He has extraordinary hearing and sense smell. - He doesn't put on his sunglasses right away when walking outside, like everyone else does (he even appears to be staring directly at the sun). - In several scenes sounds of babies, shooting guns, movement and sometimes almost insignificant sounds is emphasized. - He searches the shelves of the first house he checks (in the beginning of the movie, before he finds the dead body) by running his hand through it. - When he finds the dead body hanging it is very clear that his shock is caused by the doors falling off the hinges, not the sight of the dead person. He even feels the body before being sure of what he is dealing with since he can't see anything. - At George and Martha's house, he kicks forward by the first step of the stairs to the porch with his boot so he knows where it is. - He never fires his weapon first, needing to hear the sound of shooting at him to identify the location of his target.

In the movie The Book of Eli was Denzel Washingtons character blind?

No, When they were driving over the golden gate bridge and they stopped because the bridge caved in at one point, they got out of the car, went over to the other lane, and stood by the railing, they saw alcatraz island, he said, "that is where we need to go". How would he know if he was blind?

He didn't kill any more guys than he had to. The premise of The Equalizer (which isn't made super clear in the movie version) is he's someone with unique skills who helps people who, for whatever reasons, aren't able to seek or get help from the authorities. The first 4 (5?) in the office all had a chance to walk away peacefully, and all tried to kill him. The guards at the big guy's house and anyone who was on the ship are the only moral question here - everyone else was self defense - and even they were arguably collateral damage as he was defending himself. But for the most part they were bad guys who were either complicit in enslaving young women or trying to kill him. Killing any number of slave traders is justified if one person will be freed.
