What Were The Causes And Effects Of World War I

What are the causes and effects of world war 2?

Causes:

1. Economic discontent (in Germany mostly caused by having to pay reparations for WW1 and then exacerbated by the Wall St crash).

2. Long boiling pockets of social discontent, particularly against Jews nd against the growth of communism (of which it was considered was aided and abetted by Jews).

3. The growth of class politics in general, the extension of male and female universal suffrage.

The after effects were definitely the feeling that there should be a world body to prevent such things as state genocide and massive armament programmes in the future.
Also the move towards state intervention and social/ healthcare programmes (particularly in Europe) to alleviate the causes of poverty and ensure better cohesion.

World War 1 Causes and Effects?

I'll try to keep it short:

Causes:
1) The assassination of Prince Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo which caused Austria-Hungary to declare war on Serbia, dragging Germany and Russia to war as well.
2) The aggressive politics of the German Empire (annexation of French Alsace-Lorraine and the buildup of the Navy), which made France and Britain bitter enemies of Germany.

Effects:
1) The creation of the Soviet Union (without a starving population and soldiers fighting the central powers the Tsar would have been able to put down the red revolution).
2) The defeat of Germany and the harsh terms of the Versailles Treaty paved the way for the rise of Hitler and WWII.

What was the cause and effects of world war I?

What was a direct result of World War I? Neither. World War I didn't start as more than a regional war until Britain entered the war due to a pact that Britain had to defend Belgian neutrality nearly 60-70 years earlier. However this is how it happened:
1) Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated by Gavrillo Princip, a member of the Black Hand.
2) Austria-Hungary suspects involvement with the Serbian government and issues an ultimatum in which would make Serbia a vassal state of Austria-Hungary. Serbia refused the ultimatum and Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia.
3) Russia, an ally of Serbia, declared war on Austria-Hungary.
4) Germany, an ally of Austria-Hungary, declared war on Russia.
5) France, an ally of Russia, declared war on Germany.
6) Germany invaded Belgium in order to easily invade France.
7) Britain, the protector of Belgian neutrality, declared war on Germany

What was a major cause of World War I?
Of those, 3 is the answer. A better answer deals with interlocking alliances, but 3 is ok.

What were the major Causes and Effects of World War 2?

You're asking for a very long essay. I'll try and answer shortly. It was caused, in Europe, by the Treaty of Versailles that ended WWI and humiliated the German people. It was exacerbated by massive economic troubles that swept the world at the end of the 1920's and the 1930's. Think Great Depression. It was a global depression. This allowed Hitler to rise to power. He rebuilt Germany's pride and economy and launched his country on a course that could lead only to war. In Italy, Mussolini took power from a tottering and feeble government using drama, oratory and economic unease. He, too, dreamed of greatness of the martial kind. A new 'Rome.' His armies, of course, proved to be far less effective than Germany's. In the Pacific Japan desired economic and resource self sufficiency. For this, it needed land with the requisite natural resources. It began in China and Korea but ultimately needed the resources of the ABD&F colonies and islands (american, british, dutch and french). This, along with provocative trade actions by the USA because of Japan's invasion and actions in China, led it to the 'Day of Infamy' 12/07/41.
Effects? A bipolar world; the USA and the USSR and the Cold War between them. The eclipse of Western Europe as the power center of the world. All of the agonies caused by the antagonism between the USA and USSR. That and something like 60 million dead (plz check that figure). Map's changed and nations became satellites of the USSR. Some might argue some nations became American satellites. All of this falls under the misery afforded to the world by the Cold War. I hope this gives you a framework upon which to build.

What was the cause and effect of World War II?

Cause of WWII for the U.S.= Japan bombs Pearl Harbor.
Effect= We attack Japan and end up winning with the use of nuclear weapons.

Cause for Germany= Germany wanted occupation of the Rhineland from Poland and many other territories they lost from WWI. Germany never received the land, so they invaded Poland, which started WWII.

Effect= Germany made the mistake of fighting a 2 front war, AGAIN. Russia eventually stormed into Berlin and Germany lost. Germany tried to defend the Reichstag using 40,000 soldiers while 1.2 MILLION Russians were attacking. Germany lost.

Fascism and World War II Cause and Effect?

I would look at the inter-war years. You had peace treaties after WWI that really shafted the losing countries. These countries were extremely depressed economically. This led the way for anyone that could bring these countries out of their current situation to be able to rise quickly in power. For example in Nazi Germany, Hitler made some great strides in bringing economic stability and advancements. This caused the people to look to him as an effective leader and follow him in his radical ideas. The same is true of Mussolini in Italy. He brought great change for the people who were so depressed and they were willing to follow some of his other policies.
