What Will Be The Gop First Order Of Business After They Take The Senate And House This November

If the Democrats take control of the House and Senate in November will they move to impeach Trump or will they slow/stop his agenda until 2020?

If the Democrats take control of the House and Senate in November will they move to impeach Trump or will they slow/stop his agenda until 2020?Regardless of the outcome of the midterm elections in November 2018, articles of impeachment will almost certainly be introduced against the Talented Mister Trump and passed no later than February of 2019 by the House of Representatives. Indeed, that is a very conservative timeline, as (by all reports) Special Counsel Robert Mueller plans to give Congress a report regarding his findings on possible charges of obstruction of justice against Trump no later than July of 2018.Seriously, is there any doubt? The only reason that Trump has not yet been indicted is because Mueller is probably operating on the assumption that a sitting president cannot be indicted. (See Justice..gov - A Sitting President’s Amenability to Indictment and Criminal Prosecution.) As such, Mueller will probably just make a recommendation to Congress regarding impeachment, allowing the possibility of criminal prosecution after Trump is removed from office.Meanwhile, there’s only so much bullshit that can be explained, and Mueller probably already has enough evidence to indict Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump on a wide variety of white collar crimes. There is a category 5 shitstorm coming, and virtually everyone on Team Trump has some potential legal exposure. As such, most of the Republican Members of Congress who were once supporting Trump will deny him three times before the cock crows on the first Tuesday in November 2018.

If the Democrats win back the House and the Senate in November, what actions might Trump take to stick to his agenda?

Trump does not have *much* of a legislative agenda, other than whatever he likes in a given moment. He’s even scuttled bills that he had supported just days earlier. Meanwhile, he is also adverse to taking the time & effort to negotiate with the few conservative Democrats needed to pass GOP priorities. As such, my read is that he would give huge concessions to the democrats to get some little fly-by-night goal of his, then have r/the_donald brag about how he totally pwned the libtards. But, who knows when it comes to Trump.Beyond legislation, his agenda is to threefold - a) funnel as much money into his bank accounts as possible, b) get praised & c) golf. About the only thing the legislature can do is to keep a spotlight on the money thing.

Will the Democrats take the House and/or the Senate in November?

It depends on a lot of things. I’m a Democrat disgusted with my party leadership.First, forget polls, they’re worthless. Despite their claims of having a low margin of error, there is little science in them. They often predict inaccurately and they suppress large voting blocs, which invalidate any poll.I’m a white male senior. Three times in a roll I got calls from a political poll and when they heard my demographic, they either ended the call or told me I wasn’t eligible. Guess which demographic is most likely to vote? That said, the Mid Terms depend on a number of factors;Congressional elections will be a litmus test on the Trump Administration .Democrats have had three disastrous Congressional and State elections in a row. Unless they learn from their mistakes, expect little. The corrupt and failed DNC leadership must be purged and replaced with the younger, smarter, more ethical and energetic up and coming Democrats in both the House and Senate.Old timers who belong to the past must retire; “Cave in” Schumer, “anti-impeachment” Pelosi, “baggage heavy” Hillary, “Fire and fury” Warren, and even good people like Biden and Bernie. The past cannot save the future.Oh, and the most important factor of all; Democrats like to protest, but many of them don’t vote. Most Republicans do vote. 35% of registered Democrats didn’t vote in the last election. Democrats seem unaware of this fatal factor. So the Democrats have a Looooooooooooooooooooooong way to go to win. Simply expecting victory because of Republican racism, corruption, incompetence and slavish devotion to a terrible President isn’t enough. The fatal flaws of the Democratic party have to be solved, and quickly! Remember the definition of insanity; what the Democrats did the last three elections didn’t work.

What will be Trump's first order of business with the new Congress following 2018 midterm elections?

The first order of business or President Trump will need to be getting rid of Sessions and Rosenstein at the minimum and probably parting with some members of his cabinet who will be unwilling to go through two years of investigations. After he has dealt with his long-postponed Attorney General replacement problem, Trump needs to take a victory lap for the success of his Senate rallies and the rallies for several of the other candidates he sponsored. Things like that take hundreds of coordinators in dozens of places and he really needs to thank them all.Because he will be using them again in the run for 2020.And then he needs to really talk to the Senate and see who is going to work with him and who won’t. The Kavanaugh issue should have unsettled some of the die-hard #metoo supporters, and hopefully, the next time there is a Supreme Court nominee, a civil and professional Senate Hearing Committee will be in place.President Trump needs to spend some time with Grassley discussing how the Senate Judicial Committee can be improved. Get Feinstein out?He will need to talk to the new House GOP members, too, and discover who’s loyal and who isn’t; and, of course, to what. As far as the House is concerned, he’ll have to leave it up to the Dems to figure out whether they plan to legislate or hate. If it’s hate, he needs to move on to other avenues. If it’s legislate, he’ll need to be ready with some approaches to things the Dems are open to.And then he needs to dance a little jig! Obama’s impact on the 2018 elections was practically nil!

Is it true that Democrats in 2008 controlled both House and Senate plus presidency?

until 2011 when Republicans met for the first time after elections having gained control in the House?

Doesn't the budget start in the House and then passes to the Senate to vote or squash?

I don't understand how Democrats blame congress for Obama's failed promises when democrats had BOTH House and Senate until 2011.... and still Democrats have Senate and presidency.

Does this make sense?

When Democrats take back the House and the Senate in 2018, will trump quit?

He will be gone by then. Will Pres Pence quit? Better question.

If the Democrats win back the Senate, would it make the House GOP more willing to make bipartisan proposals?

If the Democrats win back either of the two chambers of Congress (I personally would rather have the Senate to put the kibosh on more right wing extremist judges), the Republicans will have a choice: 1. Work together with the Democrats to get something done on behalf of the American people, or 2. Force gridlock for two to four years so they have something to run against next time.I can tell you this. If the Democrats take back the Senate, every single seat on the federal bench becomes a bargaining chip. After the Merrick Garland debacle, it has been established that the Senate has no obligation to even give hearings to prospective judges. The best way to do business would be go give Trump a list of demands every time he sends someone to Capitol Hill. “You want Skeeter on the bench? That’ll be ten years of Planned Parenthood funding, Mister President, in order to get hearings started.”

Why did the Democrats win control of the House?

Because they had nothing to lose. The Democrats just didn’t believe they could do any better than the Republicans who were better organized. They were still living in the trauma of Trump’s serious beating of Mrs. Clinton. Further, Trump was not too worried about the House. He focused on the Senate. He knew the house would be riskier, especially after the former Republican speaker declined to run again for Congress. That was a bad sign for the Republicans. When a leader falls, many go with him. So many other Republicans didn't say anything but just pulled the plug by spending less money. Some had lost the desire to serve a supposedly hawkish leader at the White House. Some Republicans had lost the will to be there. Trump took many decisions without consulting the Congress. Most felt they had nothing to contribute. They had lost the will to rule under a peculiar leader. However, the loss of the Congress doesn't mean that the Democratic leaders did a better work. No. In 2 years time, I see the Republicans taking back both Houses in a big way. The American Economy would be better, and Americans will be more ready to back their leader Trump who is opposing the SDR, The Global Elite Agenda Policies, which is determined to undermine the US dollars.Democrats don’t see that clear for now. The Trump policy of America first is a Saving Grace.

What is the political definition of congressional session?

The Congressional session is made up of two years.
100 % of the members of the House of Representatives are up for election every two years. We elect during an even # year (November of 2010) and they take office in January of 2011 and they serve until Jan of 2013. That is a Congressional Session.

Now the Senators are elected for a six year term. The President serves a four year term. So their term will overlap the Congressional Session. We count by the Congressional Session not by a Presidential or Senatorial Session. We are in the 112 Congressional Session.

Every even # year in November will will at least elect 1/3 of the Senators, 100 % of the Members of the House of Representative and every other election we will elect the President. In 2010 we did not have a candidate for President in 2012 we will.

Great Question by the way.
