What Will Happen If Re Dye My Already Bleached Hair

Can you dye your hair if its already bleached?

Yes, you can definitely dye bleached hair. I do this for clients almost every day. But please have it done at a professional salon. There are good reasons for this:Store-bought box dyes are one-size fits all, or more accurately, one-strength-fits-all, meaning they are made with the highest concentration of chemicals so that they will work on most all hair types across the spectrum. Putting strong chemicals on bleached hair is damaging hair that has already been compromised. Even if it is “all natural” or “naturally derived” it is still very, very strong and can cause hair to break off or in severe cases melt off.Almost all salons and colorists will “tone” hair after bleaching it. This is simply using dye on bleached hair, but at a lower “volume” or strength, to add pigments that shift the blonde color in certain directions (platinum, sandy, icy, strawberry, etc.) away from plain yellow and orange. This is completely normal. If you want to go DARKER, you can use a dark brown or black ammonia-free hair dye (semi- or demi-permanent) with a low-level salon peroxide developer (generally 6-10 volume) that simply deposits color on your lightened hair. Professional colorists should also mix formulas that “fill” the hair with missing pigments that were lost during the bleaching process so that the end result looks natural and not muddy, greenish or grey.If you want to go LIGHTER you will need to bleach your hair again. I recommend waiting at least two weeks MINIMUM between bleaching sessions to allow your hair to recover. I definitely do NOT recommend trying to use a lighter-colored dye on your hair, which could cause extensive damage and will likely not turn out anywhere close to the desired color.Direct-dye fashion colors such as Pravana (without ammonia or peroxide) and temporary vegetable dyes (such as bright pinks, reds, blues and purples) are generally safe to use on bleached hair. The only downside is bleached hair is technically compromised (damaged) already, so bright colors will fade quickly and require regular upkeep. So yes you can, but please be careful and choose a dye that will not cause further damage.

Can you re-bleach already bleached hair?

ive had that problem i dont think bleaching it will help cause when i did that my hair just started breaking off i couldnt even brush it :'(
i think a toner would be best ive used that before and it lightens and gets rid of the brassiness
i ususally buy mine at Sallys :) the girls at sallys should be able to help you with the toner
you basically just pick the color your trying to achieve mine was like a grey blonde and i added a 30 developer left it in for 20 min it evened it out more :) i hope this helps !! i feel your pain !

Bleaching over already bleached hair what happens?

yeah i dyed my hair black only three times in the past 2 years and i recently decided to put some streaks in but i used a really shitty bleaching kit and it made it kind orange gold but i just bought another bleaching kit a better one and on it it says not to bleach over previously bleached hair and I'm just wondering what will happen if i do it anyways D:?

What will happen to my hair if I re-bleach?

it will cause some damage, more dryness and breakage especially since your hair is already damaged.. however, it has been a year since you bleached it and it has had time to heal and as long as you have been getting trims, the dead ends should be gone. if you can already see some of the blonde underneath, it may not take as long to bleach it because its already lighter, however when you bleach it, it may not turn the exact same color as it did the first time because there is hair color on it.
make a judgement and if you feel like your hair is healthy enough (if its as healthy as when you first bleached it) then i would say its okay.. if its really dry and broken off at the ends, etc. i would say dont do it.

Is it a good idea to bleach your hair that's already been bleached a month ago?

It really depends. Since I can’t see your hair, or your desired end result, I can’t say for sure if it’s ok or not.First off, you shouldn’t bleach your hair at home at all, but when you’re rebleaching hair it’s especially important to do it professionally. Only a professional can determine how much your hair can withstand, the best products, developers, and lightners to use, and how to safely and properly get you to your end result. You might need to relighten your hair, but you might just need to tone it. Sometimes if you’re close to your desired lightness, a good toner will make it look a little lighter and will end up giving you exactly the color you wanted. Sometimes the initial bleaching process was too harsh on the hair and another round would damage it too much, sometimes to the point of chemical cuts (hair breaking off mid-strand) or hair melting and turning gummy. Sometimes it’s just fine to rebleach the hair, but it should usually be done in sections, with different developers used on different parts of the hair shaft, and with the bleach staying on for different times on different parts of the hair shaft. You usually need a lower developer for the porous ends and roots than you do for the midshaft, and you usually leave the bleach on for less time on the porous ends and the roots. This is to make sure that the more easily damaged parts of your hair don’t overprocess, and to make sure that the hair lightens evenly. After bleaching, your hair is damaged, and there’s no way to reverse that. No matter what, you need to be more careful after you bleach your hair. When it comes to rebleaching, you sometimes can do it but it needs to be done with a lot of care and knowledge.

Can I put blonde hair color on already bleached hair?

Of course you can put blonde hair dye on bleached hair. It’s a matter of how damaged your hair already is. So ask yourself some questions before grabbing the dye.Are you buying box dye or mixing your own? While box dye is quite a bit cheaper if you are doing this once (hard to believe), it works differently on different hair types. So while a dye might work great in my hair, it might melt yours. Something you have to figure out over time.Or. you can get it done by a salon.Do you have extra curricular activities that could damage your hair more? (i.e. Swimming)Be careful about swimming with bleached hair. Green or dry hair can happen to anyone. How often do you already bleach your hair? You do not want to over process your hair, else you have to cut it off and start over. Can you dedicate time to applying a hair mask at least once a week? This is personal. Not everyone has to do this, but I reccommend it to any of my friends wanting to dye their hair. I do it and my hair has survived being toned and bleached all the way to white. How do you feel about cold showers?Another personal one. Hot water can cause damage to your hair. You don’t have to shower exclusively in cold water, but 2–5 minutes of cold water at the end can not only make your hair shiny, but also improve your immune system (Two birds, one stone). What about dry hair?No matter what you do, bleaching and dying will dry out your hair. You will notice. So, as long as you don’t mind that, then go for it.What is your natural hair color?Naturally blonde hair is easier to bleach/dye because it doesn’t have to be processed as much. Brown and darker hair has more integrity (normally it is thicker) and can handle more dying, but it takes more to go lighter.Sooooo, all this and more comes into play when deciding whether or not you want to dye your hair.Good luck with your decision!

Can you bleach dyed hair? If so, how?

Absolutely you can! It just takes a little more caution than bleaching virgin hair.I recently bleached my hair from bright red to very light blonde, and it turned out just fine. It kinda depends on what colour your hair was dyed (for example black and dark browns are harder to get out,) but here’s a general overview:I went to Sally Beauty Supply and purchased Prismlites Blue toned Bleach, 30 volume developer (creme, not liquid [personal preference]) and a shiny new tint brush. (But I’m no professional. Use caution and commonsense…I ain’t liable for your hair.)Since I was doing more of a balayage-highlighting technique, I didn’t get within a couple inches of my roots, so that was one less thing to worry about.I sectioned my hair carefully, and as soon as I began applying the bleach I worked quickly to pull it through evenly (in the places i wanted). I started timing immediately and actually stopped halfway through bleaching to rinse the bottom section, so it wouldn’t overprocess.Once your hair is a pale yellow at the lightest, (mine had a teeny bit of orange in places,) you MUST wash the bleach out or face all the hair catastrophes I’m sure you’ve heard about. If your hair was really dark, you might want to stop while still orange (or once the time suggestion on the bleach is up,) because it’s better to go back later and re-bleach then to fry it trying to go super light in one day. After that, shampoo, tone if you want, or wait and dye it. Good luck!Oh, and don’t freak out when it’s still wet. My hair looked bright yellow-orange when I was fresh out of the shower, but once it dried it looked much blonder and better. First appearances can be deceiving!

Can i get my hair permed if it has been bleached.?

I agree with pinky. The reason they won't perm your hair has nothing to do with the color of it, but, just the fact that you have bleached it. You may want to go to a beauty supply store (preferably a Sally's if one is near you b/c they have a bunch of good stuff & it doesn't cost allot) and get a protein reconstructor. If you really want to get your hair in good shape, get this stuff by Aphogee. It's a 2 step process that you do once every 6 weeks & it totally helps your hair (although it stinks like nothing I've ever smelt before).

My hair had been bleached before & this is what I did/still do to get in back to being in good shape: Only wash your hair 3 times a week (the natural oils in your hair help to protect it, so, if you wash it too often, you will strip your hair of them & hurt it). I use the Aphogee stuff every 6 weeks as well as once a week I do a hot oil treatment ( I make a mixture of half coconut oil & half olive oil & apply it to my hair when it's damp, put it in a bun & sleep with it in & shampoo out the next morning), a protein recontructor ( I like the Ion brand from Sally's...put it in your hair & leave on for a few hours), then, before bed (on the same day I use the recontructor) I put some deep conditioner ( I use the Quene Helene Cholesterol) in my hair & sleep with it in & shampoo out in the morning. I do the hot oil thing on Monday nights & shampoo on Tuesday morning (shampoo day #1) , the reconstructor/deep conditioner on Thursday nights & shampoo on Thursday morning (shampoo day #2) & then, on Saturday I shampoo w/o doing any special treatments. Oh, &, make sure you use a good conditioner & leave-in conditioner that's specifically made for damaged hair after everytime you shampoo to keep your hair from getting dry. Personally, I like to use the Shampoo, 3-minute conditioner (I think it says 3 min. either that or it says 5 min...can't remember) & the leave-in conditioner that's all made by Aphogee as well....... because all of them are specifically made for hair that's been bleached.

In about a month, go to a salon (maybe even a different one who hasn't seen your hair as damaged as it has been) & just tell them that you color your hair & have been doing treatments & ask them to take a look at your hair to see if they think it's in good enough shape to perm. If they do it, make sure you contuniue using the weekly treatments
