Ski instructors Why teach the Wedge Christie?
i can see the benefits of teaching the stem christie because to know how to slide a ski can be an important thing. can't scrub speed if you don't know how. it's easy to get the ski on edge and lock it there, gain too much speed, then not know how to stop the speed. i taught my kids how to ski by way of stem christie, taught them up un-weighting & down un-weighting... then taught them how a shape ski is designed to be used and the technique needed to do that. now they can be carving high speed and can scrub a bit when it gets a little rough terrain-wise and crowd wise
What life lessons have you learnt from driving?
For someone who spend a lot of his time on the road daily driving my car, I get lots of time to introspect and think while driving. Here are some of my life lessons from driving.No matter how many people you overtake in life, there would be always someone who will be ahead of you. Point is, there is no point racing away in life ! Go through life in your own pace.Driving to your destination too fast may be thrilling for a while, but with time you would realize that you never enjoyed the journey. Take time to enjoy the view during the journey.The realization that you are speeding through the journey (of life) comes with time (experience and age), initially (in youth), its all about speed and thrills !!In your journey, look for opportunities to help people on the road where you can (by giving them a lift). In doing so, don’t go out of the way (unless there is good reason to do so), choose who you help carefully (if not you will get mugged) and enjoy the conversations and benefit from the experience of your fellow passengers.During your journey, you will see signs (signals) that guide you in your journey, use them to your benefit and keep your eyes (and mind) open for them.Follow your instincts. If your instincts tell you that there is a possible traffic jam ahead, look for alternate routes that would help you avoid that and get to your journey faster.Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you can’t avoid a traffic jams – so when you are stuck in life’s traffic jam, be patient and make the best of the time by enjoying the music and sharing a smile with the fellow travelers in the vehicles near you.There would be some jerks who think that they are racing with you. Ignore them, they don’t realize you are just trying to get to your destination (home).Take care in your journey of life ! Remember, someone is waiting for you at the destination.Will add more if it comes to my mind !! :)
