What Would Be The Idea Fish/fishes For A 3 Gallon Tank

What fish can I have in a 1.5 gallon tank?

That's a really small tank. So let's eliminate a betta right away. Just because they can survive in tiny tanks does not mean they are healthy or happy in one. I have a 30-gallon tank and have a betta and three other fish. Bettas love a big tank.So back to your tiny tank. If it were me, I would put one of these two groups:3 fancy guppies — they are about 1/2″ long and come in a wide variety of colors. Easy to take care of.5 neon tetra — they are small, about 1/4″ to 1/2″ long and are easy to take care of. They like to be in a school of at least fiveI really think the tank is too small for any other fish to be happy in. The two groups I mentioned are pretty and will be fun to watch. If you put in bigger fish or more than I listed, the fish will become stressed. When they are stressed, they get sick. When they get sick, the other fish will eat them and the other fish can get sick, as well. Also, for decorations, make it very little. Maybe one small plant and a thin layer of gravel. They need the rest of the tank to swim in.Feeding is minimal, as well. Only a few flakes at night. If they haven't eaten it in a few minutes, you've put too much in. Remember that fish you get are coming from tanks where they had to fight for food so they will always act like they are hungry. They aren't. Feed them once a day at night then turn off the light. They will soon learn that they have a feeding time.

What fish I can keep in a 2 gallon tank?

This is too small really. The smallest tank made for fish is a 2.5 , I’ve never seen a 2 gallon aquarium though. And unfortunately this size would not be good for shrimp at all. Shrimp do not like fluctuations and unfortunately a simple water change in a tank that small would be detrimental to the safety of the shrimp. If you haven’t already gotten the 2 gallon, you can find the 2.5 gallon in a pet store like PetSmart or Petco. And then, there are a few choices you can go with… I’ve got one 2.5 gallon aquarium with 2 regular sized Corydoras, one with 6 Dwarf Corydoras Catfish (Corydoras Habrosus/Salt n Pepper Corys with a sand substrate), and one with a female Betta (the longer fins of the male would make the 2.5 gallon aquariums a little too small I think because they are only about 8 inches high). There’s not too many other choices I’d go with. The tanks have a lid you can get for it which you would probably want. Hope this all helped.Good luck!

How many koi fish can you put in a 55 gallon tank?

8 3 inches koi will do if they are grown then you could trade it for another batch of 3 inches. Or give them to people who got bigger space however indoors specially darker area with no sunlight grow will be slower.

kOi keeper & goldfish keeper.

Is it ok to keep a goldfish in a 3 gallon tank?

I have a 3 gallon rectangular tank and it has been running for 5 days.
I've added my water conditioners and bio-clear which is a product that contains live bacteria and I also added my stress zyme.

I have a hang on the back 200 Litre per hour filter with a brand new filter media insert. I've got a couple of fake plants in the tank and also a little ornament bridge that they can swim under. The floor is also covered with blue gravel.

I was thinking is it ok if I keep a 3 inch Black Moore goldfish in the tank. Obviously if it seriously outgrows it, I will put it in my next door neighbours pond because he said Im welcome to put any goldfish in there.

Please answer :) 10 Points to whoever answers with great depth and help.

If I want to keep 2-4 goldfish, what is the ideal setup for the fish without being overly expensive or massive?

I have to respectfully disagree with Ben here.  Asking employees of a fish store is not a good idea in general unless you already know enough about fishkeeping that you can affirm that the staff are honest and knowledgable.  Often they are not and give bad advice because they simply don't know better or want to sell you stuff.  Instead, look online for information, especially on online forums dedicated to keeping goldfish or fish in general. That being said, goldfish are not necessarily good beginner fish as they require large tanks (20 gallons MINIMUM for one, add 10 gallons for every other fish).  They also will grow quickly and to large sizes, so be cautious of that.  I believe comets can get to a foot long.Tetras OR bettas are easier, smaller fish that would be better for a beginner.  Lemon tetras, black skirt tetras, and others are good.  Just be sure to do plenty of research on the fish you want and the method of cycling a tank first.  This is a great guide:Guide to Starting a Freshwater Aquarium Joining an online forum like that one will give you a wealth of information and people who are willing to answer your questions.

Can I put koi fishes in a 20 gallon tank I have at my apartment, if so how many.?

MAYBE one, no more-

Have you ever seen those big goldfish looking fish that they keep in fountains and small ponds? Well, they get to be a little over a foot long and average about 8-12 pounds- they get BIG.

If you like the look of Koi, but don't want the hassle of a fish getting too big too quick, try a shibunkin- they are the fancy little Japanese goldfish with the really pretty tails and the calico coloring of a Koi.

Even a 50 gallon tank would be too small for a Koi, and it would need a 150 gallon tank before too long. (And it might even outgrow that tank, too).

Taking in a fish because the owners don't want it or can't take care of it anymore is a bad idea- don't take on their problems just because you want to be nice- you'll hate yourself for it.

Hope this helps :)

Can I keep 2 fantail goldfish in a 3 gallon tank?

You can if you want to be overwhelmed by problems. I started out with fantail goldfish in a 10, then 30, then 55, and eventually a 150 gallon.

Goldfish do need a lot of room to grow and regardless if you have a small tank, they will just keep getting bigger. Producing a lot of waste and causing severe algae problems. Yes, people do keep Goldfish in very small tanks, but what you don't see is the Goldfish becoming permanently stunted and dying, because you can not fix that. Plus, the amount of ammonia will eventually overwhelm them and cause them to die... It is not worth it, and unfair to the animal.

I'm not trying be rude, or offensive, but this is how I started out. Getting Goldfish in a small tank, and ending up with a big problem. If you really want fish, get something small. Like guppies or mollies, or a betta. They're all beautiful fish that can live in small tanks and be fine with it.

Hope this helps, and good luck with you're tank.

What fish can be kept in a 2.5 gallon freshwater fish tank along with a small male betta fish?

None! A tank this small is barely big enough for one male betta. Ideally, one betta should have at least 3 gallons of water, 5 is even better. 2.5 will do, but you must be diligent about maintenance. You will need to do water changes at least once a week to avoid a build-up of ammonia, which is harmful and can be deadly if high enough. Also, to keep waste at a low level (since waste is what leads to ammonia), feed a good quality pellet-type made specifically for bettas. Aqueon makes one that is good and not too expensive. Some other goods one are Omega One Betta Buffet pellets and New Life Spectrum. Feed one pellet at a time, and watch to make sure it is eaten before adding another. That way there is no uneaten food rotting in the bottom of the tank. I usually feed 2-3 times daily, a few pellets each time How many pellets depends on the size. A good rule of thumb is that a betta's stomach is about the size of their eyes, which might be 2-3 pellets or 5-6, depending on the size of pellet. Avoid flakes, which are harder to keep track of and therefore tend to foul the water quickly, and don't use freeze-dried foods, even if they are labeled as betta treats. Thay tend to cause bloating as they absorb liquid in the fish's tummy. If you want to give him a bloodworm treat now and then, buy some frozen bloodworms instead. They love them! As for other fish you could put in the tank instead of a betta, it would need to be something really tiny, like Endlers. They are similar to guppies, but smaller and are very colorful and active. The males are smaller and more colorful than the females, so  you could have 3 of them.  They are livebearers, meaning that they give birth to live babies capable of swimming at birth, rather than laying eggs. If you want to have babies (fry), 1 male and 2 females might work in a tank that small, but you would have the potential for quickly becoming overcrowded.

Can i fit 8 goldfish and 3 neon tetras in a 10 gallon tank?

Just to reiterate what others have said--

ABSOLUTELY NOT!

The smallest variety of goldfish needs at LEAST 20 gallons, and each additional goldfish needs 10 more. At LEAST. And they can NOT be kept with tetras--tetras are tropical (warm water) fish, goldfish require colder water. NO NO NO NO. Please don't do that, its sick.

Can i 2 betta fish 4 comet goldfish and 3 algae eater in the same tank?

Male Betta should never be housed together.

Male and female Bettas should only be housed together when trying to breed, then separated afterwards.

Bettas should not be kept with any slow moving, brightly colored, or long finned fish. Comets are not a good match. The Betta will probably nip at them.

Bettas are tropical fish, they like water 78 degrees or higher.

Comets can grow to be huge, while they start out small now, they can grow to be over a foot long, and need huge tanks. They create a lot of mess, so you need a bigger tank to accommodate their bio-load.

Comets are cold water fish. They prefer low 70s.

Algae eaters can be a wide variety of things, which do you mean? If you are talking about the common pleco (plecostomus) They can get up to 2 feet in length, need huge tanks, and they don't typically like other plecos so its best to have only one.

You also failed to mention what size tank you what to set up.

Hope I helped!
