What Would Cause Someone To Suddenly Start Twitching In Their Sleep

Twitching in sleep?

As long as they don't hurt, then nothing to serious to worry about, your body is reacting to the days activities, and any stress build up in you,my just need to drink more water,or some stretching before bed,as well could be body growing, mussel reaction..Jerking awake, just means you body was awaken suddenly, weather from a dream,or something that caught your attention by ear,but not aware of the sound that did it,like me,I am a light sleeper, and a pin drop will wake me,but you would never know that's what it was, cause you were sleeping, and not awake to sense it..

Why do I twitch or moan just as I'm falling asleep?

I know the twitch is some sort of muscle spasm.

I get this sometimes. As I'm falling asleep, I suddenly jolt awake and my whole body jerks. It's really weird. But I'm told it is normal.
I'd attribute the moan to the same sort of thing.

Napping during the day isn't the best thing. If you are going to nap, keep it to 20 minutes, 30 at the most, otherwise your body enters deep sleep and waking up from a deep sleep means that your proper sleep that night will not be the best.

I'm taking a guess here, but stress could be a contribution to this. The best way to fall asleep is to be completely relaxed. Reading a book or listening to music usually does the trick. Just clear your head of any worrisome thoughts - the more relaxed you are, the easier it is to fall asleep.

Also, don't try to fall asleep - just lie there and you'll eventually fall asleep. The more you think about trying to make yourself fall asleep, the longer it takes... if that makes any sense.

My girlfriend starts to twitch almost as soon as she falls asleep. She will do it randomly throughout the night?

That is 100% normal. you may not realize it, but but you do it too. it is something that happens when you fall asleep but your body doesnt want to go to sleep. Dont worry about it :]
