What Would Happen If Minorities Stopped Believing The Republicans Are Racist

Why have Republicans gotten more racist in 2018?

My feeling (can't prove it, just an observation) is that there are not more racists now than before, they're just out in the open. The GOP has promoted racism at least since 1968 and Nixon's famous 'Southern Strategy'. But they've always done it in 'code words' and 'dog whistles'. Trump has done us the favor of bringing racism out into the open where we can see it. He's convinced Republicans that intolerance is something to be PROUD of.

This seems like the beginning of a new period in American politics. But the nature of these things is that when we first notice them, we notice that they've been going on for some time. I'm thinking racial anger and hate speech are going to grow for the next 20-30 years as white people slowly lose their majority control of the US. A lot of Americans (mostly white men) are scared sh*tless over the prospect of becoming just another minority and for the next 2-3 decades the Republicans will be exploiting this fear and anger because they are very strong political motivators.

But ultimately racists will lose. Because there's nothing Republican leaders can do to stop the demographic trend. Eventually, angry racist whites will be an irrelevant minority, and everyone will get to vote, and we'll pass a new raft of laws against de facto segregation and discrimination and hate speech and hate crimes. As far as I can see, the 'diversification' of America is inevitable, unavoidable.

How can the Republican party stop being perceived as racists?

When I was very young, my mom told me a very creepy story. There was kid in the beach that appeared to be drowning. Everyone swam as quickly as possible to help him, but in the end, they realized it was all a joke. The boy pretended to be drowning just to have some fun.The second time it happened, a few decided to help him. Again, a joke. The third time, however, he was actually drowning. That time, though, his screams did not matter, as no one believed him anymore. This story is similar to what the Brazilians leftists and Democrats are doing. They are using the terms white privilege, classism, homophobia to designate the typical American/Brazilian white worker over and over, and that is pissing them off.Don’t get me wrong, I do believe that society is filled with those issues, but overusing those words only make them lose effect. I’ve seen people comparing the mayor of Rio de Janeiro (a conservative bishop) to Hitler. Come on, as much as you hate him, this comparison is utterly wrong and useless. The thing is: next time someone rightfully compares a politican to Hitler, people won’t take it seriously (we’ve seen just that recently).Racism is one of those words. White people are tired of hearing this word and it doesn’t make them vote for Democrats, but for Republicans.Look at the situation right now. The Republicans have the House, the Senate and the Presidency. They have everything. Being labeled as racist over and over only helped them. Democrats will only stop calling Republicans racist when they both share the same view, which is completely pointless for the GOP.That’s my outsider opinion.

Why do many Republicans believe racism is no longer a serious problem or issue in American?

First the term “Racism” is misunderstood and overused as a crutch and an excuse in America. Is Racism a problem? Of Course, but not everything that is called racism “is,” and many things that are blatant racism are allowed to pass freely.Blacks can freely use words that whites will immediately lose their jobs for saying. It’s OK for them, but not for you. They can call each other the “N” word, sing it in their music, and scream it from the rooftops. You try it & see what happens.A group of black students at Harvard University last Spring, demanded separate graduating proceedings for back students…with No White Students allowed to attend. They also demanded separate water fountains, rooms, and dining facilities. …Nope, Not Racist. Cultural provision.Last year there were numerous lawsuits and people up-in-arms ( so to speak ) over what was perceived as “Cultural Appropriation.” It’s true! People were upset at others for having “Luau” parties, “Mexican Fiesta Night” at the club, even dressing their children as characters for Halloween. “RACIST!”You picked a “Golden Retriever” puppy over a “Black Lab” …Racist! You don’t want Hondurans, Guatemalans, Columbians, and Mexicans sneaking into your country and bringing drugs? RACIST!You sided with a Cop who shot a black “Gang-Banger”? …RACIST!The word is overused in our society. It is used because people are scared to be called that horrible name! There is no further discussion, no necessity to explain, no way an individual can justify or exonerate himself. It’s a Fact, he’s a Racist! …that’s all it takes to ruin a man’s good reputation.Thinking people know that it takes proof to make an allegation TRUE.Not everything you hear about an individual is true, “Particularly” in this day of name-calling and political assassination. Yes, I am a Conservative, and No, I will not take you at your word that somebody is a “Racist” a “Bigot” or any other of your favorite adjectives just because he happens to disagree with you. Name-calling has lost it’s shock factor to me. Now, I look differently at YOU instead, and wonder “Why” you decided to say such a thing about him.True Racism still exists, and racism is still a problem. I will always step up and confront it head on. What I won’t do, is blindly accept another person’s angry words, or “what he has heard about” another human being. Save your breath.

Why are republicans trying to reach out to African Americans?

We all understand the racist problem the Republican party has ESPECIALLY TOWARDS BLACKS. They have a better chance reaching out to hispanics. Heck, they're the growing minority! lol It's sad to see so many teabaggers like Rand Paul try and fail terribly reaching out to blacks. For those who dont think teabaggers in the GOP have a racist problem, let say.... they have problem understanding how African Americans think. (examples: Not implying that we are all on welfare, not owning a ranch with a racial slur for a name, APOLOGIZING when you insult a race of people, noticing three candidates in the GOP primaries have said something offensive to blacks, hispanics, and women, ect.)

Does the fact that white people are becoming a minority in the US bother you & do you feel displaced?

here is a quote that resonated with me...

"I always find it hilarious when people talk about the US becoming a "Minority-Majority" country as though it is both inevitable and some sort of natural phenomenon rather than a deliberate policy.

The current population trends are a direct result of federal immigration policy (which, incidentally, the American people never asked for.) And we have the power to change it."

call me racist as im sure some of you will. i dont care, im not affraid of that label & your wrong anway. am i a xenophobe? yes. but those feelings apply to some white people as well for me personally.

this will happen by 2042 & sometime after that if trends continue, hispanics will be the sole majority. it seems bizarre to me that no one is making an issue out of this. can you imagine if this were going on in england, china, israel or any other proud country? yet im sure no one would call them racist & i dont believe it is to want to preserve your heritage & culture.

lastly, inevitably when this conversation comes up some deuche brings up the fact that we took the land from the indians. while true, in this discussion, its irrelevant to say the least & anecdotal at best. that was the way of the world, people took what they wanted by force. i think collectively society has become less primitive & most people respect others boundaries & lands. (that doesnt apply to the US gov but does to its citizens)

do you honestly think that a minority majority will be a good & healthy thing for the country?

rude people will be blocked.

Do American conservatives believe that minorities are crying wolf when it comes to racism or is it more a feeling of life's not fair, get over it?

I’m going to be controversial and provocative. I am an American (US), generally a conservative, and a racist. Wait! What did he say? I am a racist. Now get ready for the bombshell… You are a racist, too.I don’t want to be a racist any more than you do, but it is impossible for a human to not be somewhat racist. We are ultimately a product of our experiences, our education (formal and intrinsic), our environment, and a whole hogshead of other things. Accept it, own it, and deal with it. By recognizing your racism, you can try to mitigate it, but you’ll never make it go away completely. Now to answer the question: I think that there are very few American conservatives that deny racism exists. Yes, life’s not fair and that will never change, but we can try to address unfairness when we encounter it. The question is disingenuous because it calls for an either/or answer to a complex issue. I think that there is some “crying wolf” when it comes to racism. I also think that life is unfair and we have no choice but to deal with it. But my beliefs about racism in America lie somewhere other than the two choices. If crying wolf is a 1 and life is unfair is a 5, my beliefs lie somewhere around purple. Racism certainly exists. In the US it has gone from being very overt to being much more subtle. And minorities have recognized that sometimes they can play the race card to their advantage. As a conservative with heavy libertarian leanings, I would rather see racism addressed in the home through example and education as children are raised, than through the government attempting enforcement of morals. The fact that racism still flourishes in some people, but has become more subtle demonstrates that civil rights legislation can only go so far. If you want to reduce racism, teach your children and remind them to teach their children.
