What Would Happen If Someone Tried To

What would happen if someone tried to "land" on a jovian planet?

We actually sent a probe "into" Jupiter in 1994... it dropped by parachute, and lasted about an hour before it finally was crushed by the ever-increasing pressure....
So, you'd drop in to the atmosphere, and you'd descend. There's very high winds in the upper atmosphere (it creates the bands of color we see on Jupiter), and a lot of lightning. The pressure continues to build as you drop, and the atmosphere gets thicker. Eventually, it's difficult to tell if you're descending through gas or liquid, because it's displaying properties of both.
Likely, you're ship is going to implode due to the extreme pressure outside, but if you had a very strong vessel, you'd reach equilibrium at some point in the atmosphere - not descending anymore, but not rising either. And, it's going to be HOT.

What would happen if someone tried to hjack a plane today?

First of all, no, they were not required by law to not resist the hijackers. Just like now they are not required by law to fight the hijackers. It was just that the general advice if your plane was hijacked was to stay put and let them have their way.If a plane was hijacked nowadays...Here's what you have to understand. It might sound like you'd be willing to fight to the death for your plane when you're reading about hijackings or when you're watching movies about it, but in real life, it's hard! Are you willing to run at a guy who has a knife and may have a bomb strapped to his chest? Like I said, it sounds easy right now, but in the situation, even if you know your plane could be going down, it is very hard to run at an armed human being with nothing but your car keys and a pen to fight him with. Why does the TSA bother? Because although passenger may be willing to "fight to the death," it's not exactly a great scenario to be in. The TSA does catch stuff. They catch bombs and guns and knives. And I know they're not too efficient, but how would you feel if you're staring down the barrel of a pistol 30,000 feet up? Are you ready to charge at that guy? To possibly give your life? I hope you are! But what else could have been done...Maybe the TSA will find the gun and it won't get on the flight? If a plane is hijacked, I think you will see resistance on part of the passengers. It doesn't, however, mean they're gonna get the plane back. That's why the TSA does what they do.

What would have happened if someone tried to burn the Death Note?

The Death Note would successfully be destroyed; all that would be left would be a pile of ashes. All the standard rules regarding ownership of the Death Note take effect as if ownership had simply passed on to another person, if the owner is living. The Shinigami who previously owned the Death Note would return to the Shinigami Realm if they didn’t have any other Death Notes on Earth. If the owner is dead, then burning the Death Note would have no effect except forcing the Shinigami to return to the Shinigami Realm.

What would happen if someone tried to put out an electrical fire with water?

1. Water conducts electricity
2. Electrical fires don't get extinguished by water
3. The person would probably get zapped.

What would happen if someone tried to drive their jetski to africa?

What made me answer your question was the other answerers remark about averaging 60mph crossing the Atlantic. Fact is - that can't be done. They simply do not make a vessel that can "average" that speed (or near that) on the open sea. In fact, the fastest "certified" around the world in a speedboat is slightly less then the fastest record in a sailboat.

The open sea is just not that "sea kindly" for anyone or anything to maintain that kind of speed.

To prove my point - the guy that crossed the Atlantic did not do it in 68.7 hours - it took him 117 DAYS.

He had a support ship follow along with him that had six crew members who kept a watch on him and prepared his meals, passed him beverages, and gave him sleep breaks on-board, as well as carried all his necessary food, fuel and water, etc.

I realize this was a passing (and fun) thought for you - but I just didn't want anyone to get the idea they could take a jet ski and make it across the ocean in less than 3 days.

James is right however, take a jet ski around America's Great Loop - that's a very safe 5,400 mile adventure of which you never have to make a U-turn, and are always close to shore, and near marinas, good waterfront restaurants, motels, campsites, etc.

What would happen if someone tried to snort cocaine in a police station?

What would happen if someone tried to open the emergency doors in flight?

Almost all passenger doors are of the “plug” type, which means they’re bigger than the “hole” they fit into (doors that open to the outside of the aircraft, get pulled in, and then rotated so they fit through the opening). So opening them first means pulling them “out” of the hole. That’s not impossible if the airplane is unpressurized, and if it did happen, the main result is usually just a massive amount of noise. The occasional door has been ripped off the hinges by the airstream, there’s obviously a potential hazard to anything behind the door on the aircraft. But when pressurized, the forces holding the door in place are immense. The main boarding door on a 737 is about 72 inches high and about 33 inches wide. Even allowing for rounded corners, that’s on the order of 2000 square inches. When at altitude, your 737 will be pressurized to 8psi or more. That’s 16,000 *pounds* of force holding the door shut. That’s like lifting four or five cars. Anyone trying to open that will rip the handle off the door long before getting the door to budge (and they’re not going to manage that either). So basically, as far as the door is concerned, nothing will happen when someone tries to open it in flight. On the other hand, as for the idiot attempting the opening, he’s going be lucky if all that happens is that he’s tackled and restrained by a dozen passengers as soon as they notice he’s trying to open the door. That’s one of the consequences of 9/11. Everyone now assumes that hijackers, or anyone messing with the airplane, mean to kill you.

What would happen if someone bombed the Vatican?

Firstly it would be very difficult. If someone succeed he should keep a space craft ready to escape as no country in the world would give him or her a shelter. There would be a universal boycott against the country if found helping the culprit. I'm an atheist but even I'll donate for it's reconstruction. With the money pouring from all over the world it would not take a long time to reconstruct at the ground zero.

What would happen if someone tried to bite a bullet really as hard as if biting a pistachio shell nut?

A2AFrom a pure physics perspective, on the Mohs hardness scale, we have the following information: Mohs hardness Young's modulus
Tooth enamel 5 83
Tooth dentin 3 40
Lead 1.5 45.8
Copper 3.0 110
Zinc 2.5 108
(Brass is an alloy of Copper and Zinc)
Iron 4 211
Carbon (graphite) 2 11
(Steel is an alloy of Iron, Carbon, and other elements)
Given that tooth enamel is at most 2.5mm thick, at the crown, and tooth enamel is brittle as heck, and given that a jacketed round is incompressible due to the lead inside, and given that the lead used in most rounds is either jacketed or an alloy, to avoid gumming up the gun barrel…and the average of 1,000 people could bite down with a force of 171 pounds (Scientific American: The Power of the Human Jaw). You are going to break the tooth.Pretty much guaranteed: a broken tooth.People usually stop biting when it starts hurting…
