What Would The World Be Like If Racism Didnt Exist

If the whole world was blind, would racism still exist?

Very good question and often asked and answered in a variety of ways. This answer will go a bit long but here goes….Think of if it this way. A baby is not racist because it does not understand colour differences of people. The baby sees the difference but has no frame of reference to the ethnic, racial and cutltural labels applied to people by people throughout the world. Only through repetition of those labels. The more you teach that there is a difference and that one group is inferior the more likely you are to endorse and condone racist behaviour. If a child grows up to not react negatively to the differences but be welcoming of anyone regardless of the differences then you have balance.Colour of skin is the primary base difference which racism feeds from. So the question is not just about colour of skin, but the difference of people by race. Can a person know a race without seeing the the person? Unless they are told that a specific person or number of people are from a. Specific race of people how would they know?In conclusionSight is a necessity for racism to thrive. Therefore I would conclude that without being able to identify anyone or any group you cannot be racist in the way we know it to be.I am always open to being proven wrong but I just cannot see Tacoma exists without being above to identify groups.

If racism didn't exist what would we have substituted it with?

Class prejudice or something similar to that. There are always some that are better off, financially than others. High class-middle class-low class structure or similar. People that are high class or upper crust often look down on lower classes as being less worthy. If not that, India still has a caste system in place.Humans will always find something to disagree and fight about. It is the human condition, simple as that.

What would happen if racism never existed?

What would happen if racism never existed?People would find other reasons to divide people into tribes because it is wired into our DNA to want to belong to a group and see other groups as a threat.A person’s ethnic appearance is only one factor used to divide people, other popular factors have been social and/or financial status, ideological beliefs, language, interests, etc.Take the Roman Empire as an example. Being a slave was not determined by your skin-color or how straight you hair was, it was determined by other factors such as: Were you captured in battle and sold as a slave? Were you sufficiently indebted that you were arrested into slavery? Were your parents slaves? Racism had little to do with it. Skilled professions like accountants, translators, and tutors were often relegated to slaves.Just because we evolved with brains that like to group people as “us versus them” does not mean we have to behave that way, especially over something as trivial as physical ethnic characteristics which the individual has no control over.Personally, I think people should be judged by their behavior which is a far better predictor of an individual’s future behavior and intent.Aren’t I profound. LOL

What would the world be like without racism?

The reason for hatred and slavery would have shifted to being that of conquered peoples (extreme nationalism and extreme religious intolerance). we saw this already with ISIS and groups like that not really caring about skin color, but rather what god you pray to and who’s banner you fight for.the whole layout of humanity and the reason for slavery could be entirely altered in this timeline if everyone was just the same skin color for all eternity.if everyone was the same skin color, divisions would be mostly because of religious and nationalistic differences. obviously confederacy, KKK and things like that are erased. They could still exist in some fashion but they would resemble ultra nationalist independence groups like the IRA.i cannot say if nazi germany would have still risen. Its probably butterfly’d away as having never been a thing. instead national ideologies would battle for supremacy in Europe and in other areas of the world.

How does racism affect our world today?

Typically, racism affects individuals as a justification to avoid particular (sub)-cultures. For example, if an individual belonging to Race A perceived the culture associated with Race B as primitive and inferior, chances are, (s)he would look down upon Race B and their culture, and adhere to their own. This also leads to segregation. People only differ in terms of appearance, gender, and sometimes, culture. If every human shared the same culture, perhaps 'race' wouldn't exist. Many people are aware humans only differ within those three aspects, and therefore, they wish to be treated like humans rather than a specific of human that is judged by stereotypes, which social and/or cultural. Therefore, when people fail to receive that treatment, racism becomes an issue for them, and could potentially lead to conflict.

How different would the world be if racial stereotypes and discrimination didn't exist?

Racial stereotypes (when they are accurate, which they usually are, which is how they become stereotypes) are simply an acknowledgment of average traits of a phenotype group. Since it is impossible for average traits of a phenotype group to not exist, the only way stereotypes could not exist is for people to be too stupid to notice that phenotype averages exist. In other words, humans would be very stupid and probably not able to develop technology… like the wheel… or quora.Discrimination is a morally neutral word. It means the ability to tell one thing from another. Discrimination is essential to identification. Every animal species on earth must be able to discriminate in some way (this is food, that isn’t; this is a female of my species, that isn’t) in order for it to survive. Therefore it unimaginable that life as we know it could exist without discrimination. The world, in other words, would be so different that we wouldn’t be around to notice the changes.
