What would you do with your life if money were no object?
I’d spend time with people.The single most valuable thing money can buy is time. The most valuable thing I can do with time is to connect with people.I was talking to the realtor who’s helping me relocate for a new job recently and I said “I’d live in a shoebox if it gave me a short enough commute so I’d be free to spend evenings with the people who matter.” My number one driving criteria for a place to live is commute because the most important thing I can buy is time.If money were no object, I’d travel to spend time with people who are important to me but who are too far for me to spend time with. Or I’d fly them to visit me should they have the inclination to do so.I’d go places with people… in a real “money is no object” world, I’d like to be able to tell those people who matter “quit your job, I’ve got you covered, let’s talk about what we want to do.”There’s a second thing to do when money is no object and that too is about people. With a sufficiently large sum of money, I’d like to fund some really important things. I’d like to make sure that The Trevor Project and Trans Lifeline don’t every have to say “we have more demand than we have resources to help.” There are some projects to fight LGBT youth homelessness that I’d like to fund and some projects that fund access to gender affirming care for trans people.Money buys time and that includes time to be an advocate and an educator. Time to touch lives and leave those lives better for having been there. Time to cast stones that will ripple, teaching teachers or leaders so that they too can have a positive impact on lives when they encounter people who are different.I’m honest enough to say that if money were no object, parts of my life would drip with hedonism. I like creature comforts as much as anyone else. But the most important thing money can buy is time and the opportunity to spend that time well.
If money wasn't a factor, what would you do for a "living" and why?
A2A.I must admit I would have done nothing differently. I was one of those people who had too many interests, so as a young man I struggled with which one I should pursue because society expected we each choose one.Should I be a musician? A psychotherapist? A writer? A photographer? A cook? What if I choose wrong? What if I change my mind later in life?I eventually figured out that I could be a psychotherapist four days a week and a musician three days a week! I could write books in my spare time. Photography could be a serious hobby, and I could be the designated cook of the family.I’ve been fortunate to make a living pursuing my passions but, if money wasn’t a factor, I would do exactly what I’ve done.I retired at 59. I help people with mental health and relationship issues for free because that’s who I am. I play in a blues band and two kirtan bands. The fact that I get paid to play is almost funny. I still write books and my camera still gets a workout. I’m still the cook. Retirement only means I stopped getting up and driving to the office.
What would you be if money wasn't an issue?
If money wasn't an issue, I’d be a traveler. Not a tourist, but a traveler. I'd travel the world. Walk through jungles, dip my feet in flowing streams, camp under an open sky, lie on the grass and count stars, let early morning breeze caress my face every day. I wouldn't have to worry about staying in a job to pay my bills, or taking too many leaves. I'd have tiny houses amidst different hills and valleys, a pond in the backyard that I'd sit by, to sip tea in the morning, and have campfires in the evening, . Every day would be a holiday, life would be a vacation!
Why do liberals on here claim that they have money and/or jobs without any kind of proof, proving they are lying because liberals don't have?
What do you feel constitutes proof? I'm hardly going to post a pic of my paycheck stub. And even if I did, you would pull the usual conservative crap and say it wasn't really mine or something. Slightly more than half the county identifies as being liberal. Just to make it easy for you, that's about 50%. We have 4% unemployment. If your contention were true we would have much greater unemployment. Oh, and I've been working since I was 14, paid my own way through college, and have worked continuously for 43 years, with only a 6 week break when I had surgery. I make 6 figures, my only debt is car payments and a mortgage which is almost paid off. I also put two kids through college. Why do everyone on yahoo answers always answer career questions for wanna be doctors and surgeons like " dont do it for the money ohh do what you love" THATS BULL... No one in their right mind would go though 12+ years of school and go into100k+ in debt for lets say 40k. I think someone can be a doctor for the money if they are good and good to patience.Honestly my passion is making money I would shovel horse $h!t in the hot sun with a smile on my face for 300k+. So honestly would you be a doctor if you" loved to help others" for 13/hr and you LOVED your job or do something else like a trashman or janitor for 350k. LETS SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE LIE.....
How would you feel, if money never existed?
Here is my theory of no money ever existing. In a perfect world everything would be better. I see money as a competition. A dirty, little game. If it never existed MANY of today's conflicts wouldn't exist. But then you think, how would people be payed for doing a job and what not. This question makes me think hard. So, how would you feel if money never existed? And how do you think living would be different?
