What Would You Do If Gangs Take Over Your Neighborhood

Gangs my neighborhood, what should I do?

Yes unfortunately we are living in a world going mad today. Not much you can do about it just try to get out of it the best way you can . There will never peace and security under mans rule . My nieces husband went to Afghanistan and fought for our security just to come home and get stabbed . He is ok today but guess he fought the wrong war

How to overcome fear of gangsters in your neighborhood?

If at all possible, move.

If you live in a neighborhood where gang members hang out, but have little to no interaction with them, should you avoid wearing their colors?

Yes, especially if you're a young person and/or a minority. You should really avoid wearing any gang colors in general. You might get mistaken for a member of a gang by a rival one. That could cost you your life. People were beaten or killed just because they were wearing a red baseball cap (color of the Bloods gang) in a Cribs territory, for example. You could also be mistaken for a gang member if you're unlucky enough to get caught in the middle of a bust, or worse, a shootout. To be safe, don't wear any obvious gang colors in “unsafe” neighborhoods. There was a documentary I saw that talked about that particular subject. I think it was a VICE documentary. You can look it up on YouTube, if you are interested in more details.

Gangs are ruining my neighborhood and the police won't or can't do anything about it. How can I take matters into my own hands?

Gangs are ruining my neighborhood and the Police aren't or can't do anything about it. How can I take matters into my own hands? You do this by not taking matters into your own hands. Yes, it would be nice to exact justice as has been done time and again in the movies and on TV shows. But the reality of that fantasy is that when you seek justice based on your interpretation of the law, you become the same as those you abhor.Another point to consider is that real life doesn't always follow a script. There are no rehearsals, no cut and shoot the scene over, and definitely no big paychecks. Most of life is an adlib, an improvisation, and almost never turns out quite like you intended. Any “street justice” you mete out to your antagonists will be returned to you and your family a hundred, a thousand fold. Do you really want to risk your safety and the safety of your family just to become nothing more than a bit player in a true life tragedy?Law Enforcement authorities will treat you no different than the thugs they have to deal with on a daily basis, because you crossed the line, and by your actions have become no better than the ones they take into custody every day. You will only get a pass if you can prove that your actions were justified, based on an immediate threat to you, your family, or an innocent bystander.I can understand your frustration. But it is best to let those who are professionals handle the problem. It may seem as if LEO's are indifferent to your circumstances, but I can assure you they are not, and have infinitely more resources than you do to see that justice is ultimately carried out.Vigilantism is portrayed as a noble endeavor. In the movies, yes. In real life — not so much. There are no retakes in real life, and all you become is a statistic, not the hero. If you have any information about criminal behavior, Crimestoppers are an excellent resource to alert Law Enforcement. Contact a Patrol Officer and let them know of your concerns. What I am trying to tell you is don't try to become the hero by riding in to save the day on your horse of vigilantism. In instances like this, leave the foot work to those best qualified to handle it, while you preform your civic duty anonymously.

If a gang member tags your door what does that mean?

Leave the tag there if you know what's good for you. The gang is claiming your residence as part of their turf. If you remove it, they might take it as a challenge to their power, which could make life pretty tough for you.

Can I get a restraining order on my downstairs neighbor?

You really need to talk to an attorney on this one. I certainly don't know the legal aspects of a restraining order and it doesn't seem anyone here does either. I think you figure that if you are able to get a restraining order and the neighbor is told they can't come near you that then they will be forced to move. I'm not sure it works that way.

Why are you fighting with people in gangs? Just stay away from them.

I agree with the gent who stated "it would be grounds for breaking your lease for living in an unsafe environment." I admire the fact that you want to stay but why? To prove something? Document everything then get a lawyer to help you get out of your lease.

What do I do if a gang member wants to fight me?

To cut the iron, you need an iron.Small unknown stories of Mumbai Mafia.Going Anonymous because its my father’s story. My Father was a person who lived in a Chawl in Mumbai during his younger days. The area in which my father lived had a big bootlegger who had a lot of money and a lot of ego. He was such a powerful person that people went to him rather than any court or police to settle their disputes.Even Police would fear him.. He had became a troublemaker for ordinary citizens in that area. One such day, he troubled my father who was a young man of 24–25 years then. My father retaliated to his actions and went home.Next day his sidekicks were ready to take on my father. They had swords with them and on seeing my father, they chased him to kill him for arguing with their boss.Somehow my father ran away and saved his life.It had become difficult for my father to move in his own area..While on the other side, in the rage of his ego, A member of one of the topmost gang in Mumbai was killed mistakenly at the hands of bootlegger.Seeing this as an opportunity, my father started visiting that topmost gang to pay respect to that Bhai (Big Brother or Don). He started to fume their minds against that bootlegger.Result:- The bootlegger was shot dead in a club in Mumbai by the same topmost gang in about period of 2–3 months.Well i wont say, they did it for my father, but my father says that it would also have been possible for him to pull out a compromise between the bootlegger and the gang. But he chose another way.

I really want to join a gang? How can I join one?

First off if you are asking how, you must have what it takes to be in a gang. Secondly that life isn't for everyone and to be in a gang means you don't mind taking advantage of people or have no respect for authority or much even yourself. Always looking over your shoulder wandering if because of a wrong against another gang or person you could become a victim of a retaliation drive by or because the gang was involved in a criminal action you get stuck being the fall guy! When you belong to a gang you owe them everything. Sure they claim you as a member and if you get in a fight or trouble they will watch your butt and that will only help you so far. If you end up in prison and membership into a gang is a sure fire step in the right direction of ending up in a prison cell or worse one foot closer to the grave yard. If you end up in jail which again 99.9% chance is most likely they will not be able to post your bond or offer you anything but try helping to watch you back there. Gang life if not a luxury and it does bring harm to so many who don't deserve it. Say you get another gang mad at you and they retaliate by doing a drive by on the place you live. The gang shoots randomly at the house where you and your mother, father, brothers and sisters live. They don't care where they shoot at the house they just open fire. As a result your mother or siblings are shot, severely injured or killed. Is it worth it... If you aren't strong enough to make it in the world without being a turd, then go ahead, join a gang. Believe me one day sooner or later you will be very sorry you did! Male or Female gangs, they are all the same. Do yourself a favor if you want to join a gang, join the military or become a law enforcement officer. They are positive organizations that are part of the solution not part of the problem. What's more you earn respect and a living!

If lightly-armed troops fought heavily-armed street gangs, who would win? Would the military’s training or the gangs’ equipment win the skirmish? The setting is a neighborhood.

No sane military unit would go up against an enemy force with automatic weapons when they are low on munitions and down to only side arms. But hey, this is hypothetical so let’s make it interesting. This is a platoonA 42-man platoon(Using the American system here) is led by a lieutenant and made up by 4 squads of nine troops each, all lead by staff sergeant. The other 6 men make up the platoon headquarters so I’ll assume they won’t be directly involved in the fighting. Now this is an average gang memberIt is redundant to find a group of those gang members because it would be the same as putting 20 pictures of this same guy in the photo. Gang members have a basic hierarchy. You have a leader and a bunch of followers. This leader wasn’t chosen for brains but probably for muscle. The strategy for a gang is “everyone go forward”, the leader will have to control all 40 members himself and they will likely all jam each other in the same place since they aren’t good at fighting in such large groups. You ever see 40 gang members all together? And most importantly? Gang members aren’t looking for death. You do not join a gang to fight in wars, They do not have the mentality to stay calm under fire. How long will those mob of gang members stand and fight until enough of them die and they break tail and run?I’m afraid the win goes to the soldiersEdit: For some reason people find the fact the gang member is black to be extremely offensive. In order to prevent this, here is a gallery of some GMMNPR (Gang Members of Multiple Nationalities to Prevent Racism)Japanese YakuzaChinese traidsA white gangster (Al Capone)You are welcome to google “Platoon of {Insert nationality/ethnicity here} soldiers” if you find those Germans up there too racist.
