If your last name is Del Rio, is your last initial D or R?
It all depends . . . In the US, if one is using "filing rules" for surnames following the American Records Management Assoc. rules, then, prefixes in names, that is the articles and particles (“a,” “an,” or “the” or "of the/from the" in another language) which are used as part of a person’s name, like "Del Rio" ("from the river" or "from the/of the Rio family"), then the first letter/initial of the last name would be "D." However, following the rules in another country for the names of that country the articles and particles may be ignored and the first letter/initial of the last name, "del Rio" for example, would be "R." The capitalization of such prefixes in surnames tends to be more common when the name is used in English speaking countries. In Spanish speaking countries, the surname in your example is: "del Rio" - no capitalization of the particle. The library profession has extensive guidelines for surnames/first letters of last names with articles and particles, depending upon the country of origin of the bearer of the specific surname, and what the first letter/initial of the surname would be for filing purposes. Examples: Afrikaans name - file under the prefix * De Villiers, Anna Johanna Dorothea (first letter of the last name: D) Dutch name - If the surname is Dutch, file under the part following the prefix * Aa, Pieter van der (first letter of the last name: A) unless the prefix is ver. In that case, enter under the prefix. * Ver Boven, Daisy (first letter of the last name: V) Belgian French name - file by the part following the prefix * Faille, Jacob Baart de la (first letter of the last name: F) English name - file under the prefix. * À Beckett, Gilbert Abbott (first letter of the last name: À) * De Morgan, Augustus (first letter of the last name: D) From: http://wikis.ala.org/acrl/index.php/Mult... I know, it's picky, isn't it? But, because of what I learned as a librarian, I follow and use what ever the name bearer chooses to use as a last name initial. It makes for a very interesting world, I think. :-) Best wishes

Name QUADRUPLET boys using these names?
If you had to name quadruplet boys, what would you call them using the following names (all could be used as first names or middle names, but you can only use each name once). You can give just one middle name or two, if that's your preference. Boys: Isaac Adrian James Jude Elliot Anthony Nathan Henry Samuel Evander Alexander Nathaniel Hayden Sebastian Sean Hayden Shane Luke Liam Graham Charles Ethan Joshua Joel Ryan James Andrew Everett Oliver Zachary Patrick Owen Harry Spencer Keegan William Martin Gary Jack Lucas Luke Miles Tiarnan Michael BQ : What is your favourite overall name out of these? Also I thought that I would share a story about quadruplets - my grandads sister had quadruplets (they are in their 30's now) and she had 1 girl and 3 boys! And she already had a girl at 18 months when she had them and when the quads were 18 months she had a boy! :)
What are the odds of someone having the same first, middle and last name as you?
Pretty slim, really.Neither of them is especially common (my middle name, Niklas, isn’t exactly very rare, though). My first name is floating around place 800 or so in Germany, 350 if you count variant spellings. Last year, less than 100 new ‘Tilman’s’ were registered in Germany, apparently.Never really was a lot more common for any length of time, either. It’s virtually unknown outside of Germany.‘Ahr’? There's probably about a thousand in Germany. Apparently some in Switzerland, Scandinavia, the Americas…Let's say three to five thousand worldwide. Maybe, to be generous. The chances of someone else having that exact combination? Not zero, obviously, but not far from it, either.Googling came up blank, which sort of supports the idea that it's a fairly unique combination. There appears to be a Niklas Ahr in Oklahoma, though. No luck finding any other Tilman Ahr through Google, either. To answer for the more general case: there's no way to give numbers, or even ball park estimates. Names just vary way too greatly in frequency of occurrence.I'd guess if you're James Joseph Smith, chances that someone has the same name aren't too shabby. For Theophilus Sky Hundskoetter, they’re probably very close to zero…

Name a movie with a character that shares the same first name as you?
Tamara Drew? lol idk.. oh, and Tamara Riley from Tamara - sorta Carrie, some evil killing zombie, sounds like we'd get along lol BQ: NO, ever. BQ2: too many lol, hate that it's like in kndergarten I remember when they'd ask "what's the name of your street?" and some kids were my neighbors, so they'd name "my street" - I'd get so angry lol, I'd usually say "NO, it's not! It's MY STREET, not yours!" I remember one boy started crying after I convinced him it's not his street lol edit: no, I haven't seen it, but I think it's an average B-movie, a regular teen horror.
