Does having a lot of apps drain the battery of my phone?
Does having more than two cars parked into your garage drains more fuel ? Well not unless you use all of them simultaneously.Same goes with apps and mobile battery.Having 100s of apps will not necessarily drain more battery, but using them all at a time will surely drain hell of a battery.Suppose you have youtube, gmail, camera, facebook, twitter and gallery only these six apps installed on your device and you are watching videos on YouTube, scanning to FB posts, twitting your friends, writting a mail all at same time buy multitasking between apps then yes your battery will take a toll.And now if you have gmail, youtube, fb, twitter, camera, gallery, prisma, nova3, true caller, whatsapp, Snapchat, instagram and n number of other apps on your phone but you watch the video on YouTube then close the app and open whatsapp use it and close it then the mail.., this will cause less battery drain because you are not switching between the task rather completing one allowing the RAM to be cleared then moving to other this consumes less on CPU and less on RAM hence less power is consumed.

How could an alternator or starter cause a slow battery drain?
ok for those who answered "its the ground cable connection" that will never cause a battery drain. In a alternator you have a voltage regulator. this device controls the output of the alternator. The voltage regulator is also connected to an internal ground and if the regulator shorts out to ground then this will cause a battery drain since the wire from the alternator to the battery is not a switched but a direct connection to the battery. This is a common problem of alternators. Now if your sure the cable you moved was a ground then just moving it to another spot on the frame will not cause a battery drain, only if it was a positive cable would it drain it. Also a bad battery can drain its self if a cell has shorted out. have auto zone check it for free they will check both. Depending on what year car you have and weather or not you have an electronic trans will help diagnose you shifting problem. If you do have an electronic trans, then when you moved the ground you may not be getting a good connection and making the ecm's cause your problem.

It's most likely some aftermarket item or mod that causes excessive battery drain, but it may also be the battery internal short circuit (depends on how old it is).
