What Wuld Be A Good Multivitamin For My Father Who

Is it good to take a multivitamin tablet daily?

MULTIVITAMIN: Why to take Supplementation:-For example let us say we need 1mg of some vitamin daily, which normal foods have around .01mg per kilo. What it means is we need to eat 10 kg to fulfill our daily needs, which is nearly impossible.Similar we all know that Sunlight provides Vitamin D, which is abundant in India. Yet 80% people are deficient in vitamin D.So, as an alternative, we choose having a good multivitamin supplement which fulfills our daily needs of vitamins and minerals subsequently.Multivitamins: The BenefitsThey have nothing to do with your body directly but indirectly it affects the body which needs essential vitamins to recover faster and further help you train better and harder to facilitate good health and optimal wellness. These are Vitamins A, B, C, D, E, K, and B12 as well as the 7 B-Complex vitamins. The probability of developing the disease is greater when the body lacks the necessary vitamins and minerals.Multi-Vitamin supplements are also recommended for people who suffer from chronic medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetics, metabolism conditions, and liver disease among others. The vitamins and minerals found in multivitamins strengthen your body by treating deficiencies, which can result from the development of the conditions mentioned above. For good body, you need strong empire inside it.

What is the best multivitamin with minerals that provides all your RDA?

There are a couple of faulty assumptions and misconceptions with your question.1. With the exception of a few nutrients such as vitamin A in plain retinol form and calcium - if you follow the RDA strictly to the letter, you will age and die before your time. The RDA is strictly for preventing DEFICIENCY diseases, such as the 75 mg of vitamin C for scurvy. All life extensionists take beyond the RDA - in many cases far beyond - in an attempt to retard aging, prevent/reduce degenerative diseases and consequently live longer, or at least healthier in old age.2. Common sense will tell you that it is impossible to squeeze everything into a single capsule or tablet.Calcium and magnesium alone takes up a horrendous amount of space and weight. In the cheapest and most abundant elemental forms -Calcium carbonate is 40 percent elemental. To get just 400 mg calcium, you need to take 1,000 mg calcium carbonate.Magnesium oxide is 60 percent elemental. To get, say 200 mg, you must take at least 330 mg as the oxide. How are you going to squeeze 1,330 mg of the above minerals, along with the rest of the other nutrients, into a single capsule or tablet ?3. Life extensionists usually do not take iron, and definitely not as high as the 18 mg RDA, unless you are a woman before menopause age, elderly or anemic. Iron causes massive free radical damage.Even then, I used to give my late father a multi with no higher than 8 mg iron.Anyway, if you still wish to take one of those one daily multis, Country Life is a good choice.Country Life, Daily Total One, 60 Veggie CapsCountry Life, Daily Total One, Iron-Free, 60 Veggie CapsCountry Life, Core Daily-1 Multivitamins, Men, 60 TabletsNotice that their B vitamins are in mostly coenzyme forms, a rarity for a low to moderately priced multi.Even their B5 is given partly as pantethine - extremely rare for a multi - virtually all of the other multis which formulate their Bs as conenzymes which I have come across, give their B5 as plain calcium pantothenate. That was why I chose their "Seniority" multi for my sisters and elderly friends.Country Life, Seniority Multivitamin, 120 Veggie CapsTheir only drawback is they give plain folic acid, rather than 5-MTHF, or at least folinic acid (leucovirin).L-5-MTHF: New supplement that could save your lifeL-Methylfolate (5-MTHF): Your Must-Read Beginner’s Guide

Is wholefood vitamins better than synthetic vitamins?

I got Pure Essence labs one a day whole food vitamins while my dad got Centrum.

If my dad was to try PEL instead, is it much better for him? He is 78 and it's hard to eat right most of the time.

Best daily multi-vitamin for my dad?

My dad is about 45 years old, and we want him to start taking everyday multi-vitamins.
I, myself (I'm a teen) take multi-vitamins but they're like teen girl stuff. My mother gives me them, so I basically know NOTHING about brands or what kind of vitamin my dad should take.
I know he said he wants to take a healthy dose of Vitamin C every day, because it can work as a mood stabilizer and he has a somewhat stressful life.
He is also tired a lot of the time (along with the vitamins we're going to start eating healthier) so I heard about like vitamin B6 or B12 or something?
I also heard about fish oil helping with hearts and such..
So any suggestions? Thanks!
c:
PS-THIS IS A BIT SILLY BUT HE CANNOT SWALLOW PILLS,SO NO PILL FORMED,PLEASE.
Also, he drinks about 2 or 3 cans of beer a day, will this have any effect of the vitamins working?

Can a multivitamin help/fix/balance a potassium deficiency?

The medical term for your potassium deficiency is "Hypokalemia". Provided that your condition is fairly mild, a multivitamin (or simply increasing your potassium intake) would help. The best treatment would be to find the cause of your deficiency and correct it. You and your father should see your doctors.

Multivitamins have become a necessary function in our high fat, low nutrient western diet. The problem is that most supplements are not made with any quality or consistency standards (as no one is regulating the supplement industry). Some of the processes to look for (if you can get a straight answer from the manufacturers) are; certified organic growing of crops, cold dehydration processing of harvested plants to retain full nutritional content (most companies use a heat process that depletes the nutrients), quality control testing throughout every stage of manufacturing, use of organic (rather than synthetic) fillers and binders, and clinical testing on real people. Only one company that I have researched has met all of these standards. Because of this, I personally only use, recommend and trust Nutrilite's supplements. They are well known and used amongst Olympic and other top athletes. You won't find better quality or consistency.

As for multis by Nutrilite, I recommend these three choices, in this order; Double X, Simply Men's or Simply Women's Packets, and Daily. If you're just looking for a supplement that's high in potassium, get the Simply Nutrilite Tropical Sport Twist Tubes. Pour one in a bottle of water. It flavors your water and gives you 80mg of potassium.

Since Nutrilite products are hard to come by, here's a link to the online health store that I buy mine from: http://www.keylagohealth.com . They've been great to purchase from and they offer a money-back guarantee on all of their products.

I wouldn't worry about side effects from a multi unless you are already taking high amounts of vitamin A, D, E and/or K (commonly confused as potassium due to the periodic table). Furthermore multivitamins have not been known to change one's weight or metabolism. They have been linked to increases in energy and immune system function.

By the way, bananas are not the only food with a high source of potassium. Tomatoes and oranges are also high in potassium.

I hope something included here helps you and your father.

Can I get away with a less varied diet if I just take a multivitamin?

Try just a little bit harder, before you default to the multivitamin as cure-all.Eggs are good; oatmeal is good. You can’t get all the goodness that’s in anything green, or orange, from any of the multivitamins on the drugstore shelf. (You might if you buy the better ones from specialty houses, but the nature of the question suggests you’re not yet doing that research.)Stock up on sweet potatoes and learn to eat them raw. Better than carrot sticks, and they keep forever.Add a leafy green somehow—kale smoothies; you can freeze the kale.Add beet smoothies if you really want to cover all the bases. At least add frozen berries to the mix. Put them in your oatmeal.Onions and garlic are also useful, and both are long keepers. If you can bring yourself to try sauerkraut in your oatmeal, and then discover you like it, you will have added a boatload of nutrition without too much insanity (apart from the looks you get when you tell people you put sauerkraut in your oatmeal).

VITAMINS FOR MEN?

I just turned 36 years old and despite being in relativity good health and having a great metabolism I wanted to start taking Vitamins. I am 5 ft 10 inches and weigh around 135 to 140 pounds.

I decided to start taking Vitamins and my friend suggested who is a health nut suggested VitaFusion gummy vitamins. I went to the store got some of the vitamins and have gotten the Men's Multivitamin, Vitamin D3 and the Calcium vitamins.

I just wanted to see from someone that may know more about vitamins than me and I on the right track and should I be taking anything else. I decided to also take the Calcium pills because I dont drink alot of milk. I like it I just dont have a fridge right now to keep my food cold. Thanks for the help.

What are good sources for vitamin D and calcium besides milk?

Good sources of vitamin D are fortified foods and beverages such as milk, soy drinks, orange juice and margarine. Fish, liver, and egg yolk are the only foods that naturally contain vitamin D
You may find it difficult to get enough vitamin D from foods, so you may want to consider taking a vitamin D supplement.
As for calcium you can find it in fish, orange or orange juices, tofu, yogurt, etc... It is not hard to find calcium, most fruits and vegetables will have the, as well as grains and sardines are a high source of calcium.
