HI, am an aquarius too, and I have a cancer best friend. I know what you mean about clashing, but you have to understand how cancers are. We are detached and like to have fun and talk, while cancer can be emotional and clingy. It is a weird combination but as aquarius' we know not to take offence over little things while cancer is the opposite. That is your answer just let them be moody and keep your mouth shut about things that are insulting, even if you are kidding cancers can be literal about things while we are overly sarcastic. Sometimes cancers can be possessive over aquarius, but let them even though I know you hate it. If you really can't take it tell them and make it clear that you are independent and like being the way you are. If you have you probably know how angry they can get as a water sign so show them how angry you can get as an air sign be a tornado instead of a breeze. Show your dominace and they won't think they can just flip out on you over everything. Just know in my case I am lucky that our element signs balanced out between emotion and thought so maybe if you try telling them to calm down and stop being so emotional and you share your problems with them you can do the same thing as me. Just pick your battles and let cancer be the way they are, but be the way you are too and let them know that.
