Here is a very creative one and a lot of fun. It can be fairly cheap (get pillow cases in bulk on Ebay or look at thrift stores) or you can make it into more expensive.23 years ago I taught a group of pre-k 4-year olds all summer at a religiously affiliated summer camp. For our talent show, we decided to do a “play”.Each child brought a white pillow case. We cut a hole in the end so it could be pulled over their head, and armholes on each side. Voila! Instant costume! We tie-dyed our pillowcases but you could use fabric paint, sew on buttons and other notions, whatever your imagination & budget calls for. The pillow cases pretty much covered their entire body (except one poor tiny boy whose case dragged and he kept falling until we got it hemmed). Use king size cases if you want longer. If the kids are too big, buy bleached Muslin at a fabric store (Walmart has it) and make ponchos.We used paper plates and made masks by cutting eye holes. Elastic held them on. Use a hole punch to make hole on each side of the plate. Reinforce the hole with packing tape or duct tape and that baby will never tear! Tie the elastic. Yarn around the edges is great hair for the rumpus. Don’t glue—tie! Just reinforce your holes! Like pillow cases, masks can be simple or ornate. Older kids can make paper machet masks by using a blown up ballon as a form.We painted sheets, hung them over wood for scenery.Our play was Where The Wild Things Are. Our “Max” got to make a pillow case for when he was wild but wore jammies the rest of the time ( and yes, like Max in the book, he had a tail).I read the words. The kids acted it out, except the kids did say the dialog (“Please don’t go! We’ll eat you up—we love you so!” Imagine about 12 four year olds hollaring those words, lol).When the wild rumpus began, we played music and the kids danced the wildest dance they could think of. We purposefully did not choreograph it.Was it hard? Yes!!!!!! So much work!! Was it worth it? Oh yes! And the kids got to keep their pillow cases.We won.

I didn't have any talents except I would think a lot in my head about stories and creating Characters.I was on stage and nervous not knowing what I would do so I pretended to be black. I played a scene from a raisin in the sun. The part is where the slave is showing his master that he has learned the quick step. And I was pretending to dance with a partner doing the quick step.
