Whats A Kind Voice Sound Like

it sounds like a grandpa

What's that thing rappers/singers use to make their voice sound funny? (T-Pain uses it a lot)?

This is what T-Pain is using, so is Kanye West in his newer songs...

Autotune, Here is someone using it:

I know fo sure T-Pain uses Autotune...
Talkbox is something else I wanted to show you because I thought you would like it.

Talkbox, Here is someone using this:

The difference is that Autotune fixes the pitches in your voice when you sing and in a Talkbox you need to hook it up to a keyboard and the sound the comes out is based on the key you press.
If you have heard Stronger by Kanye West, the part that goes, "Work it, Make it, Do it, Makes Us, Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger," that is a Talkbox.

I’ve only known of a few people who both had this kind of experience and could make intelligible comments about that experience, so there may be other answers that are just as correct. My impression is that while the “voices” may sound like they are external, the person hearing them knows that they’re different somehow from the usual external sounds. Quite often, the person will not mention that they’re “hearing” anything unusual, even if they’re with someone else who may be “hearing” the same thing. It’s too hard to explain to someone who isn’t sharing the experience, and there’s no need to explain it to someone who is sharing the experience. That suggests that it’s more like the internal dialogue that you mention.

The word sound refers to a sensation caused in the ear by the vibration of the surrounding air or other medium.  Anything that may be heard is often referred to by the word sound. On the other hand the word voice refers to the faculty of speech in the humans. It is the sound produced in a person's larynx and uttered through the mouth, as speech or song.To make it more simple, voice refers to a human utterance, whilst sound can come from any source, slamming a door, breaking a vase, clapping  your hands together.

Whats that voice effect called when it makes one sound like a robot?

Ok. There's two things you could be talking about here, and both of them are studio processes, NOT something singers can naturally do.

First, there's the Vocoder, most famously used by Peter Frampton for the song "Do you feel like we do" on the Frampton Comes Alive live album from the 70s. This is also used for the "whoa, whoa whoa" bit in the intro of "Living on a prayer" by Bon Jovi. It's pretty awesome - it uses the shape of the sounds you make into a microphone and then uses an external (or other) source for the pitch of the sound (such as a guitar or keyboard).

The other one is the one Cher uses on the song "believe", which is just using a tool called an autotuner in a way that it was not intended to be used. An autotuner takes a fairly in tune (but slightly flat or sharp) singer's vocal line and puts in perfectly into tune, so people like Britney can have careers. It can be used to shift a note up an entire semitone or in the case of "Believe" an entire tone. So Cher sings a slightly different melody to what the producer is aiming for, then they use the autotuner to create that effect by telling the autotuner to push the note up an entire tone for the syllable "lieve" from the line "Do you believe in love after love?".

Hope that helps.

What does a velvet voice sound like?

I agree completely with Cynthia; that is totally what I was going to say! Alan Rickman's voice is the perfect example of velvet. If you need a good example, look him up on Youtube - there's a video out there of him reading a sonnet by Shakespeare. That voice is total bliss!

If you've ever heard a demonic voice, whats it sound like?

Paul the apostle said"Even the devil appears as an angel of light".
You want to hear the voice of a demon just listen.......to Hugh Hefner,Larry Flint,Osama Ben Ladin,The Iranian president saying how he wants to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth. Those are just some of the demonic. The devil will try to fool you using useless scary voices when the real demoniacs are the so called sane people of the world. He'll try to scare you with devil worshippers in balck robes and candles and goatheads. These are equivalent to "Trekkies".When the REAL evil is the so-called minister who teaches aginst the eternal Godhood of Jesus, and against his virgin birth and who doesn't believe in the ressurrection. These are the voices of the real demons.
Oh, by the way 'Coast to coast am"with Geo. Noory and Art Bell would be a good source for Demon voics and EVPs

What is this quote from? "your voice sounds like a combination of fergie and jesus"?

For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/avfDR

That's quite the compliment! Everybody already told you it's from Stepbrothers but if you haven't seen the movie you probably don't know what the compliment means. It means that your voice is so awesome it's Godly (Jesus) and yet so modern and amazing (Fergie) so you're a mix of Jesus and Fergie. You must have a really wonderful voice!

What is that thing called for making your voice sound computerized when singing (i.e. T Pain, Kanye Wes?

There are a range of technologies that can do it. Generally it is something called auto-tune. What is usually done is in the studio they use software connected to a keyboard to kind of assign and pull your voice to a note on a keyboard. So let's say a tenor like Kanye sings an C note. Sombody can pull his note down to a C flat or C sharp. It gives it this weird effect along with multi-tracking of vocal takes.

I don't have much experience with using these programs or devices. You're best bet is probably to go buy a Mac, Logic, some kind of Midi keyboard controller, an Apogee Duet and a condenser microphone. You'll be good to go and equpied with professional recording equipment to recreate the same effects.
