I was once in an eclectic dive bar in my neighborhood called the calico club.I told the bartender to mix me up something obscure and strong.He said I’ll mix you up a french 751 lemon3 tablespoons (1 1/2 ounces) gin1 1/2 tablespoons (3/4 ounce) fresh lemon juice1 tablespoon (1/2 ounce) simple syrup1 cup ice cubes1/4 cup (2 ounces) dry sparkling wine, such as brut Champagne,chilledUsing zester or paring knife, slice peel from lemon in long, thin spiral. Reserve lemon for another use and set peel aside.In cocktail shaker, combine gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Add ice and shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Strain into chilled Champagne flute and top with sparkling wine.Curl lemon peel around finger to create twist at least 6 inches long. Actually: Whisky. I prefer it in the ‘original’ form but when i drink ‘finer/older' sorts of whisky, i may put a drop of water in it, or a tiny ice cube, to extend the taste.— But not soda.In Sweden we can buy some alcoholic mixed drinks in a bottle, called ‘alkoläsk’. They are sold at our ‘Systembolaget'-shops. The Reason for this, is that they contain a higher percentage of alcohol, than a ordinary shop are allowed to sell. This drink can be consumed as it is, with no added soda, or water. Maybe with some ice-cubes though.
