depends if you want hd and if you want to bundle you phone and internet. comcast has the best internet in my opinion, and they have all the hd stations that you would want to watch, just like other companies. The overall price depends on the bundle and the features (all providers pretty much have the same ones), so in my opinion, comcast is the best.

The pmrom20032003 "answer" is total BS. Both Directv and Dish use the same sort of satellite transponders with the same power and the same basic size dishes. Their signals get through with the same reliability. I assume this person's tech did not quite properly get their antenna aligned and so now for the rest of his life he will say that Dish Network has a more reliable signal.

Hi guys, I currently have dish network and its been giving me problems every night. its losing Satellite signals every night. I had the receiver replaced with a new one and even had a technician came by to take a look at it and he says everything is fine. he actually said to me that its just a minor problem and i dont need to call them otherwise the next time if they have to come take a look at it again, dish network would charge me. every night my hd dvr would lose signal and stops working also it would not record any shows. I would have to unplug the Receiver and plug it back in. whats the purpose of having a dvr if it wont record the shows that i want to watch when im not at home. anyways im thinking about switching to directv and would like to know directv or comcast has better hd picture quality. i was once told that satellite hd pictures are much better than comcast or local cable companies. is that true? does directv hd channels have the same quality as dish network hd channels? thanks

dish because 1) it is directly connected to the satellite which transmits the signal. 2)it does not pose any transmission problems. whereas cable's quality is not as good as compared to dish and the quality is low due to poor transmission.

The customer retention and acquisition tools available to providers all relate to SERVICE: QoS and customer service.Based on just those two principle service areas, I would say DirecTV is the lesser of two evils: their sales force is 100% internal (see Richard Johnson's answer for details on this differentiation); their hardware (DVR and receivers) is superior, for now; and their after-sales customer service is consistently ranked above that of DISH. Points in favor of the opposition?: DISH is scheduled to upgrade its programming features (Website account management and programming interface) this summer, so there may be some adjustment of comparison in that area pending; and the prices at DISH are a little more competitive than DirecTV.
