Whats It Like Working At A Clothing Retail Store Vs A Shoe Store

Whats better working in a shoe shop or a clothes shop?

Smelly feet would gross you out, but the rudeness of clothing customers would drive you mad! ( I've worked in a clothing shop and I still have nightmares.) If your target is only retail I'd try a gift shop, a pharmacy, a book store or electronics (most give staff discounts with less aggravating customers.)....Heck try starbucks (free lattes)...Good Luck!

What kind of music is good to play in a clothing store?

So there was this study that found that faster music tends to make people shop faster, up to a point where they'd rather leave. Slower music makes people shop slower and think about their purchases, which probably hurts shops relying on impulse purchases. I would think that the best you can do is something soothing yet urgent, like Not A Love Song from Uh Her Her. You want customers in general to shop faster but enjoy the experience, not feeling rushed. Pandora can help you make a playlist. I like it when I can't and don't have to understand the lyrics in store music because it detracts from attention paid to the product. So full bodied instrumentals would work better than sparse production, unless you want customers to linger. Please, nothing with swear words, unless your customers welcome it. That means no clean versions too, as listeners who know the song would be filling in the blanks in their mind. Nicki Minaj does super clean versions of her tracks, nothing bleeped out but with words replaced instead. Volume is also important. Too soft and the store is creepily silent. Too loud and you chase out customers and violate workplace safety rules. If your clientele suffers from noise induced hearing loss, provide earplugs to your staff. Under no circumstances do you allow store staff full control over the playlist! Songs must suit customer's interests and intentions/aspirations in entering the store.

Whats the different job titles when you work at clothing store?

For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/awVtk

Hm, since you're young and don't have much experience in.... anything you don't have a choice but to leave it to the interview here's a secret hun, a resume is complete ****. it's only a tool to get your foot in the door of the company. the interview is what counts. first question, are you working the till / floor? perfect!!! it's a customer service job! -make your objective short and sweet. "to secure a position in (companies name) as a(n) (job title) -don't make a profile, employers don't care about who you are or what you do until they meet you, that being said make a VERY strong qualities list, it's easy to. Don't lie but on Google, you can find your personality matches with suitable reqeirments for the job -education since you're in highschool there's much but to exagerate your grades don't make an activites / hobbies / interests section unless it relates directly towards the job references. Again since you're young, exagerate and use your teachers / good family (family is NOT aloud, but since you're young, people will be willing to make an exception and 'lie' for you). remember if a friend works there, a good word is always appropiate okay, and last relate your resume strickly to their mission, why did they start hiring in the first place? put this in your objective grammer and spelling are everything a cover letter, requesting an interview, why and what you will contribute to your job and your background will give you a boost, this is completly different from a resume and is appropiate to talk about personal attributes, but should be kept short and sweet practice your interview answers and questions, (questions to ask the interviy that relate to the job are a must, show you've looked into the company and are curious and not just 'looking for a job') you can find a whole bunch on google, but I won't post any since some questions / answers will be unnecessary from company to company dress nice for your interview (i wore a Rush shirt for my career interview, luckily my boss is pretty cool) Remember. when managers are interviewing kids, they know to cut some slack, and remain dedicated to school

Working at Clothing stores?

Personally you might have a chance with all of them, but you never know what they are all looking for. All of the jobs I have had have been retail so I have a lot of retail experience, and I have also worked at Victoria's Secret. When there were times I needed and I applied to a lot of retail store, some which are on your list I didn't even get calls back from a lot of them so its not always about retail experience. I think that with VS you would have a good chance. I had a group interview with them and many of the girls didn't have any retail experience but as long as they had a wide enough schedule to be available they were hired. Express I didn't work there but had a interview with them and I think that they are pretty hard to get a job with. I know they base a lot of their choices on clothing since they are a high fashion store and probably on your experience. I have been applying at Express for the longest and just recently got an interview but didn't get the job so that one may be tough. Forever 21 I believe you could get a job at as long as you have a good working background. Just recently a 2 story Forever 21 opened up where I attend school at and they had open interviews on my campus and literally hired EVERYONE I even got the job but just didn't make the orientation. So that one may be really easy. As far as the other ones I don't know, but I do hope I helped in some way!

What should I wear to my first day of work at a retail clothing store? What shoes are comfortable all day?

If you have nothing that is actually from the store you will be working for, try to match the style of the clothes you will be selling. It is always good for the sales staff to be representative of the vibe and feel of a store, and it will also show your employer that you get what his/her business is about and the image they are trying to project. As for shoes I can only agree with what other have said - stay away from high heels and anything too hard or cramped. You feet will probably swell from standing all day and will not thank you for a sassy sandal, no matter how pretty it might seem in the morning ;-). But seriously, if you wear bad shoes you will not only get blisters and cramps but you will kill your back. If you are used to wearing heels in your daily life then you should probably not choose something too flat either - just make sure you have good support. Good luck!

What do you call those people who help you at clothing stores?

Retail Assistant or Sales Assistant (though sales assistant can refer to people in other business sectors, not just retail). If you are more experienced then you would be looking more at Retail/Sales Manager positions.

What is it like to work in high end retail shops (Vertu, Gucci, Hermes, etc.)?

First things first, how do you actually buy a Birkin or Kelly bag? Unfortunately, for 99% of the women who lust after a Hermes bag the process of realizing that dream isn’t straightforward. Purchasing a Birkin or Kelly directly from a Hermes boutique isn’t as simple as wandering in, picking a bag off the shelf and paying for it at the cashier. Hermes[1] implement strict rules as to who is able to acquire one of their iconic bags. There are long waiting lists that can stretch up to six years. Even getting on the waiting list is a struggle, with customers ranked on previous purchases and reputation with the company. Therefore, there is no guarantee that you will actually be able to get on the waiting list in the first place.Instead, the path that the majority of first time buyers choose is that of an auction house or trusted consignment company. Auction houses are the riskier option of the two, with many buyers paying a premium on their purchase. The option of purchasing from a trusted consignment company is the most commonly used by first time buyers, who can find both new and pre-loved Hermes bags for a set price. Utilizing the online store market when making your first Hermes Replica purchase is highly recommended and the safest way to go.Footnotes[1] Hermes Sale - Free Shipping & Secure Shopping

How are goods like clothes and shoes cheaper in factory outlets than in showrooms? Are they of inferior quality in factory outlets? How does this workout for brands like reebok, nike etc.?

First, it is important to note that trading regulations around the world differ.   As such, in the US it is legally acceptable to sell off-price, off-quality branded merchandise whereas in other countries it might be more strictly regulated.  In the US, the roots of the outlet channel were predominately drawn towards a  clearance vehicle for residual end of season, overstocked, and damage/refurbished branded product.  In this regard, these goods are more consistent with the brand quality you may have come to know. In more recent times (last 15+ years), there has been a seismic shift, particularly in the US, towards producing branded apparel product at a lower price with much lower quality.   For example, in apparel they will use brand designs and substitute with cheaper raw materials, finishing, and factories to achieve the cheapest cost and maximum margins.   All of this is complimented with extensive and ongoing promotions to drive purchase and transaction size.  So to answer your question, yes you are largely getting a lower quality inferior product in outlet channels at a cheaper price.Additionally, the percentage of lower quality produced goods vs. clearance goods will vary by brand but those that are most profitable are heavily weighted if not almost entirely towards a produced model.   It is also quite common for a brand at a corporate level to disproportionately rely on earnings in this channel to fuel the corporate bottom line.  Interestingly enough, in some countries it is not legal to misrepresent and sell like for like branded product to customers with lower quality at a lower price in the outlet channel.
