Whats So Bad About Wearing Hoods In The Mall

Is it illegal to wear one's hoodie up when inside malls?

I went to Arundel Mills in Maryland recently and it was cold outside so I was wearing the hood on my sweater up on my head. Once inside, mall security asked me to put it down. I've seen this happen to other people as well. Is it a law in Maryland or at malls that people may not wear the hood that is attached to their hoodies on their head?

Is it weird to wear a hood on my head at the mall?

My sister told me not to wear a hood, because it's weird. I really need to go to the mall, and my hair is horrible right now. I've tried to fix it, but it's not acting right. I'm having a really bad hair day. I just can't do anything with it. I know many of you will say, "just wear it in a ponytail", well my hair is too short to wear in a ponytail. I cut it month ago. It's only about 3-4 inches long. Very short. So I was wondering, would it be weird to just wear a hood on my head at the mall? My sister has me thinking it is. It's gonna be a simple pink pullover, it's not over sized or anything. It fits just right. I don't have any hats or head scarves to put on my head. The only head wear I have is the hood on my jackets and pullovers :(

I'll be sure to buy one today while I'm at the mall, though.

Is it bad that I wear hoodies all the time?

It's fine. Some people like to be more covered/layered. It's just your style and I know some people that could open up a mall of hoodies! Lol. And they wear them even when it's hot outside...they just roll the sleeves up. Lol, hoodies are laidback and comfortable. They're nice. But if you wear the same one a lot of times in a row, you may seem gross and people might talk about you behind your back, but you have 15 hoodies. If you switch them up, you're good(:

Is it weird to wear your hood up indoors?

I'm a female freshmen in high school, and I usually wear my hood up, whether I'm inside or out. I don't do it to attract attention, or look cool or send a message or anything. I like wearing my hood up because it's comfortable, and I have a bit of social anxiety. Also if my hair looks bad I can cover it up. Is this weird? What is the general opinion on this?

Why does my daughter always wear jackets/hoodies? Even when it's hot outside, should I be worried?

Possible reasons:She likes hoodies. Teens wanna have their style. They don’t care about the weather, if they wanna wear shorts at winter, they will, and if they wanna wear hoodies at summer, they will too.She doesn’t like the shape of her body. She may be embarassed about her small or big boobs, she may thinks she is fat or too skinny. Hoodies (especially oversized ones) can just hide all of these. She may harms herself and has scars which she don’t want you to see. This one is serious. She might have a tough time or going through depression, but keep in mind that:- self-harming can sometimes be kind of a trend among teens- teen girls tend to be overdramatic about small stuffIf you notice signs of sadness or depression, try to talk to her. Please be prepared to listen carefully at what she say, don’t judge her, and remind her that you love her.She may secretly got a tattoo. My sister secretly got one when she was 15.She may be cold. Not all people feel the temperature the same way.If she wears certain hoodies, that you don’t remember having bought to her or something, maybe she wears her boyfriends hoodies. Boys giving/borrowing their hoodies to their girlfriend is considered quite romantic among teens. Girls wanna wear them all the time bc these hoodies have the smell or perfume of their bf and have a “story” on them.Well you can ask her something like“ It’s pretty warm outside, why do you still prefer wearing hoodies?”Be nice, be kind, DON’T JUDGE HER, just politely ask her and see how things go.

What are those t shirts called with a hood called?

You mean a hoodie? They sell them everywhere, some are sweater hoodies, long sleeved shirt hoodies, short sleeved shirt hoodies, sweatshirt hoodies, vest hoodies... go to your favorite store, it will most likely have them.

Would you rather wear a hoody or a beanie?

If you’re meaning a small cap when you say “beanie” then I’d rather wear a hoodie. Hoodies keep me warm in cool weather, and when it’s cold outside I can put on a jacket over the hoodie and be even warmer. If by beanie you mean what I call a “stocking cap,” then I’m gonna tell you I’ll wear a hoodie, hood down and under a coat, with a beanie, outside when it’s cold. The hoodie + coat keeps my core warm, while the beanie keeps my head warm. It’s not an either/or situation for me, it’s a both situation.

Do I have a legal right to walk into a store or public area wearing a ski mask?

General reality:Regardless of legality and rights, obscuring your face in public for non-weather reasons is going to generate a rather predictable result -- getting arrested on the idea of prevention of a possible crime.I mean, walking into (say) a bank with a face mask on to open a bank account is probably the polar opposite of how that particular task should be done correctly. The security people (and the authorities) are going to make sure the person also finds the antic unfunny.Legalities:In the UK, I may not be up to date anymore but I can't recall seeing an anti-mask statute. However, the authorities take a dim view of wearing balaclavas in public not for weather-related reasons. IRA members in past times were known for wearing face masks in every situation. In 2008, police in Kent confiscated the War on Terror boardgame partly because it contains a balaclava by reason that it could be used to conceal identity in the course of a criminal act.More usually, the authorities wouldn't arrest anyone solely for wearing masks but simply order the wearer to take it off. However, the authorities would enforce anti-mask measures in areas during riot situations. In 2011, the authorities either implemented temporary policies or exercised common-law powers against wearing of face masks by anti-austerity protestors.France does have a national anti-mask Act (Projet de loi interdisant la dissimulation du visage dans l'espace public, no. 524), enacted in 2010. In 2012, Marseilles police arrested some balaclava-wearing fans of Pussy Riot for breach of this ban on public face covering. In Hong Kong (where I now live), we have no anti-mask statutes. It doesn't matter anyway since our Police Ordinance provides the police with all the powers they needed to stop a mask wearer in public, have him produce his identity card, and then arrest the wearer for probable cause. Probable cause for what? The magistrates court will sort it out, my old son -- using plenty of English common-law principles. In the USA, I gathered most states have anti-mask laws, but no law that makes a ski mask illegal. I gathered these anti-mask-wearing laws date back to old times, presumably with the Ku Klux Klan in mind. For example, North Carolina has a statewide ban on anyone wearing face masks in public property (North Caroline General Statutes, Chapter 14: Criminal Law, Article 4A (Prohibited Secret Societies and Activities), section 14-12.14).

Why do the SWAT guys wear black facemasks?

One reason they wear those balaclavas is that they are fire-resistant ( useful when they deploy flash-bangs). Another is to protect their identities. And a third is that they add a certain intimidation factor when they do entries.
