Whats So Greedy About Wanting To Spend The Holidays With Your Child

Why are men so reluctant to pay child support?

I am a parent who recieves child support and my sons father hates me for it. I always try to understand, even put myself in his shoes of what would I do if this happened to me? I would have no problem paying, as I already do. My ex only pays 79 dollars a week. He fails to regonize the late nights or early mornings I am up preparing for the next day, all the money I spend on our son child care, or helping him with his homework, drs appointments, dressing him etc...I work as a CNA and I get paid 15 dollars an hour to assist people in this manner, his 79 dollardoes nothing for me.When he has our son for the two weeks during the summer the roles get reversed and I always still call to check on him, send money, help out beyond 79 dollars. Why can't heor other men understand this. I am sick of men bitching about this.

christmas gifts, are people greedy?

why are people so quick to ask what they should get for christams when the question should be what can i do for someone else for christmas?are people just greedy and self centered?

Why are people so greedy when i comes to christmas?

Well, it's not that they're greedy people, it's just a tradition. Some people expect gifts as a return for loving you, caring for you, or simply treating you nicely. If those people are adults they probably won't expect presents from you, if it's younger cousins or siblings, I can see where you might not like that. Remind those people that expect gifts, that the best gifts that can be given, are gifts that cannot be wrapped. Not like fire or smoke or anything like that but maybe like a hug, happiness, respect, loyalty, generosity, cooperation, and well you pretty much know what I'm aiming for. You see, don't you think things that make you happy, are the things that we must never forget? Of course, Christmas is a very busy and wallet-hurting holiday, but that does not mean you must hate it. You should enjoy moments like these. It's the perfect chance to spend time with your family and put a smile on your face! :D

I feel really greedy with my Christmas and birthday presents? Parents opinions too?

Soap? and this totals $379? As a parent I am offended. If you were my child I would laugh so hard and then probably be worried if you were actually serious. The kind of values that I instill in my family is an appreciation for the small things, for family, and for good times together, not outrageously expensive soap and electronics that breech anti trust laws and border on mind control. For holiday shopping I have a $25 limit for everyone, that includes my children and my husband. My entire holiday budget is around $400 and if I spent that on one person what kind of person would that make me? Let me be clear, my household makes more than the average american household by quite a bit, it's not that we couldn't afford iCrap, it's that we value different things.

So, you wanted parents' opinions and as a parent, knowing now that you could buy it on your own if I said no, we'd have a serious issue because I would not allow my children to have that kind of electronics in my house no matter who bought them. Furthermore, I would resent being taken advantage of by my own child. I would hope that my children would have more care and respect for me and their father and the rules we have for our house.

What do you dislike the most about the holiday season?

The thing that stresses me out the most has finally come to a close. For this year at least. The kid who is about 4 or 5. They know exactly what they want, and usually it is pretty expensive. However, they don't understand money. Usually, I will say that it is too much for something you will only play with for a short time. But, this is my brother's son, and i want to spoil that precious little boy. Also, it is hard to find. I have ordered 3 different things from Amazon in my life, none of them showed up, and I paid with gift cards which I was not refunded. So, no Amazon. So, this means I have to go to every store in New York City. I have looked every day for this one toy. They say you can find anything in NYC. Unless you are looking for the Paw Patrol Ultimate Fire truck. Nowhere. For real. So, I went to target.com. They will let you order and pay online, and pick it up at the store. I just got it today.Final pet peeveā€¦I saw a fire truck in a store for $20. I bought one that was $60 just because it is Paw Patrol. I would swear that the only purpose of children's programs is to sell a toy for 3 times what it should cost, just because it is the popular kids' show.Luckily, the little girl is only 3, so anything Shimmer and Shine is fine. She isn't old enough to be so specific yet. Still, this is further evidence that kids' shows are just marketing schemes.
