Whats the difference between board shorts and swim trunks?
Boardshorts, a.k.a. boardies: Fit tight around the waist but looser in the legs. Boardies hit mid-knee but you can get specialty ones that are longer or shorter. Most have elaborate designs which help conceal everything when wet. High quality ones that are light colored will come with a soft full mesh lining. Swim trunks, a.k.a. swimming briefs: These can come in almost any length but generally hit mid-thigh. No matter what the outside design is they often have a cheap mesh lining covering what a pair of Speedos would. They may or may not have an elastic waistband. They are meant for swimming, most are store brands, and they cost a lot less. You wouldn't be real comfortable spending several hours surfing in the ocean with a pair of them on. The fabric also tends to be heavier and harsher. The guys I know wear jammers for swimming and boardies for surfing.
Difference between shorts and short shorts?
I don't know if i have the wrong definition of short shorts lol. When i say short shorts i mean just normal shorts like you see practically all young girls wearing i.e quite high up on the thigh and i like most like them. But then my friend says to me that means i'm a slag (just joke apparently) so have i got this wrong? I swear that's what short shorts are and it's not slaggy-they're just not knee length shorts! I'm in England if that makes any difference. Thanks!

There is no difference in material, except compression tights are designed to enhance blood flow during and after working out and training, as well as faster recovery from fatigue and reduction on the chance of injury. They are constructed in a fashion that works with the muscle groups. Regular spandex is mainly for less resistance and also high mobility with no restriction but doesnt have the compression factor. Mostly bought by women for comfort and fashion rather than purpose. Women are known to mainly buy the regular spandex. But have been also known to buy the compression tights also for training. Men who buy spandex are generally looking for spandex to suit their training purpose. Rarely would you see a man buy regular spandex unless it was the proper cycling shorts that has padding in the crotch area for cycling reasons.

Is there any difference between Sport Performance Underwear and Compression shorts?
They seem like the same thing but I'm not sure. All the "compression" shorts are twice the price of the "sport performance underwear. A lot of the underwear looks like the same thing though. Any difference and what's the deal? These one pair of Reeboks seem a lot looser even though I haven't worn them yet. The Adidas ones seemed to be just as tight though.
