Whats The Fastest Nitro Rc Car

What's a cheap and fast RC car?

This statement is much too general. What are the conditions? Surface? Indoors or outdoors? What size? What price range? There's a little saying in RC - Fast-cheap-durable : pick any two...For the most part, it's right. What level or RC? There's toy grade - where you can get some decent speed for the cost. Then there's hobby grade, which is higher in price, but usually near everything is upgradable.Lets say you go toy grade, and make some speed tweaks - speed kills. It will wreck the electronics, the drivetrain, and in a crash, car parts - so you should be looking for something durable, with spare parts availability.I'd guess a decent compromise in speed/parts replacement is the ECX Ruckus. It's $100 on amazon and somewhat pokey initially (21mph)Review – ECX Ruckus 1/18 4WD RTR Monster TruckYou can upgrade the motor and batteries for more speed. Parts are available on RC Airplanes, Multirotors, Cars, Trucks and Helicopters | HorizonHobby. It's not a brand i'm so comfortable with though.A better option is a Traxxas Bandit. It's not as fast or efficient as brushless VXL versions (but brushless isn't cheap). For $180 (check ebay or tower hobbies for deals), you get a very sturdy RC car with tons of aftermarket options - from stock replacement parts, to nylon, to aluminum or carbon-fiber. The drivetrain would handle brushless (though there are some bushings you may want to replace with bearings). The stock motor is goof for 30-35mph though which is plenty for fun. Brushless motor/speedcontrol upgrades with the right pinion/battery can take this up to 65-70mph (which is a ridiculous speed). Again - the main bonus here, is if you break something - it can be replaced or upgraded. You want to go faster, you can upgrade something to do that.

What is the best Starter Nitro RC car?

Heh, if you want explosive power, you want brushless electric and lipo's, but i'll come to that shortly.
Ok, well, my first RC was the traxxas 'nitro sport'. It is one of the easiest to start and break in nitro RC's i have ever seen. However, it is two wheel drive, so not as easy as a four wheel drive to handle (Though more fun, imho) and because its the bottom of the rung model, it isn't as durable as it could be. Thats not saying it's terrible, it's pretty good, but its by no means indestructible. However, traxxas have a heap of hop ups for it and its big brother, the nitro rustler.
The losi ten T is a good car, in every sense. However, they are in my opinion massively over priced for the privalidge of having an automatic starter, something that will only work under the right tuning of the engine.
If i were you, i would try something like the hobao hyper 7. Its a really solid buggy, quick and the engine isn't too bad to start. The 1/8th buggies are popular things, so parts are everywhere.
Personally, i prefer offroad, simply cos theres more space for them round where i am.
Now, to my original point.
Nitro is hard work at points. There is a very steep learning curve for a newbie to it, and people can be very frustrated to start. Make sure you have a hobby shop close for when you need it sorted. Nitro is the time consuming, hobby side of things.
Electric is less so. There are two types of electric, brushed and brushless. Brushed motors are your traditional, 15-25 mph (generally) jobs, cheap, not too quick, easy and over all good fun.
Brushless is something else. Brushless motors are (if you buy a decent make) around 98% efficient. This means less heat, which means you can thump a whole load more volts through them. Enter Lipo batteries. Lipo's are relatively new. They give excellent run times to weight, and give brushless motors there absurd power. Brushless models hold the rc speed record, and are much easier to use than nitro. That said, they are not plug and play, and there is still a learning curve, especially with lipo batteries which can be, quite literally, explosive.

What Is The Fastest RC Car?

Best option there is probably the 1/16 scale Redcat Racing Tremor. It comes ready-to-run with a LiPo battery, charger, and 2.4GHz transmitter. It comes in truck and truggy varieties and a couple different colors.

Where can you get it? You can get it from RCTOhobby (Radio Controlled Toys Online) or from Redcat Racing in Phoenix.

in my opinion, Traxxas has the best ready to run setups avalable. Also their parts are widely avalable and, depending on the car, they are easy to find upgrades and aluminum colored replacement parts if you want. That being said, the Traxxas SLASH PLATINUM would be my suggestion. Parts are cheap and easy to replace. The car is very durable and forgiving. Also everyone is correct, you WILL break parts. I suggest getting a set of a-arms and drive lines before you even leave the store. Also if you decide to put a LIPO on it be sure you monitor the electric motor heat constantly. I even geared mine lower to keep the heat down and about the time the LIPO dies i have to let the car cool for about 10 min. Also something to think about. 4wd or 2wd. I have both. 2wd is ok if it never leaves the road much at all. If you try to use a 2wd in the dirt alot you will lose control alot or you will never really open the car up to med-fast speeds very much. 4wd however has great control and makes a noticeable difference in ease of use. With the right shock + ride height + angle of attack = driving across walls and chainlink fences for quite a ways. This never seems to get old for me and i have even made little wall running courses up to 2 stories in the air before the car begins to lose traction and i had to come down my ramp.Losi makes a truck that is almost the same as the SLASH but with 1 important difference. OUT OF THE BOX the Traxxas VXL motor is water RESISTANT. If you go with a Nitro powered car Traxxas comes with electric start on them. F.Y.I  Some races require nitro cars to remove the electric start. And some races make the electric cars de-activate their reverse function.

Are vertex 18 engines for rc nitro cars any good?

Vertex Engines themselves are good yes :) Depends on which car and how you look after/tune your engine how fast it will go.

What is the best beginners nitro rc car?

First, you should know that electric RC cars and trucks are faster than nitro ones. So if speed is the main thing you are looking for, perhaps you should consider upgrading what you already have to a brushless/LiPo setup.

That said, I love nitro myself. Unfortunately, your budget is a bit too low for any reasonably good quality RTR nitro. A good starter model is the Traxxas Nitro Rustler. They go for around $300. If you can hold off a bit, save up your money and get a Rustler ($300) or a Jato ($400). The Jato is insanely fast.

In your current budget range you are looking at a Redcat or similar. A bit lower quality, but priced lower as well. Parts can be an issue with Redcat as you may be forced to get everything on line. Almost every hobby shop carries Traxxas parts, and I am presuming you'll be shopping at one for fuel. Definitely something to consider for a truck that goes 50mph. Clipping the curb, or a tree at 50mph is going to break something... maybe many somethings! And being able to buy parts locally is a big plus IMO. Who wants to wait for parts?
