Have you ever met a star from the good old days of Hollywood?

I was lucky enough to grow up in Los Angeles, and as a film buff, who watched endless hours of black and white films as a kid and teen - knew most of the stars of the thirties and forties by sight and name. I wrote to a lot of them and got to meet many, sometimes only in passing, when I worked as a busboy at a famous Chinese restaurant frequented by old the Hollywood old guard.  I went trick-or-treating at Groucho Marx' house and later spent the afternoon at his house with some friends from high school (he was incredibly nice and funny).  I met Hal Roach (the Studio head who paired Laurel with Hardy).  At the restaurant I rubbed elbows with Glenn Ford, Jimmy Stewart, Joseph Cotton and more. Later in my career I spent a day talking to Jerry Lewis about a TV project.  In high school I became friends with Don Knotts son and, through him, met Tim Conway and Andy Griffith.During my film producing career, I had a long meeting with Mel Brooks and made a film with Tony Curtis (he was amazing) and Dyan Cannon (who had been married to Cary Grant and told great stories about him). I also worked with Stefanie Powers, who had been with the legendary William Holden for years and told loving stories about him as well.  I also got to develop projects with a couple of "stars" from behind the camera, including Carl Foreman (Oscar winning screenwriter of BRIDGE OVER THE RIVER KWAI and HIGH NOON) and Blake Edwards (writer/director of THE PINK PANTHER with Peter Sellers).
