Whats Would Be Your Opinion

What would your opinion be of a man?

Who’s 41, and in a relationship with a 26 year old female? Could a guy like that be taken seriously by people in his age group?

Let’s say the 26 year old female’s parents are highly against the relationship, mostly due to the age difference. As a result the relationship between the couple and the girls parents are not good.

What would be your opinion if the US were to host another constitutional convention, in the near future?

This is red herring/straw man bullshit.NO ONE is calling for a Constitutional Convention and there is no process outlined in the Constitution for such a convention to be held. Persons opposed to correcting or amending the Constitution for partisan reasons always bring up the bogeyman of a Constitutional Convention that will fundamentally replace and alter the form of the United States government. There is absolutely ZERO chance of this happening short of revolution.Article V of The Constitution of the United States of America reads as follows:“The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, ON APPLICATION OF THE LEGISLATURES OF TWO THIRDS OF THE SEVERAL STATES, SHALL CALL A CONVENTION FOR PROPOSING AMENDMENTS, which, in either case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, AS PART OF THIS CONSTITUTION…” [emphasis mine]There is no provision for a Constitutional Convention, only for a convention to propose amendments to the Constitution itself, which amendments still must be ratified by three fourths of the States. There is no possible way that such a convention could propose an amendment to the Constitution that repeals or replaces the same Constitution that the amendment is written to amend. Think of how ludicrous this sounds: “On ratification of this amendment the Constitution of the United States, as amended by this amendment, shall cease to be in effect as the governing document of the United States, which shall at that moment also cease to exist.”The purpose of including this provision in the Constitution itself was so that if it became necessary the States could bypass Congress and propose amendments that Congress would automatically object to, such as term limits on Congress and certain tax reforms. Article V was never intended to provide for a complete re-write of the Constitution itself, only a process to amend the Constitution if it was found necessary.

What’s your opinion of ‘Lyre’ as a name?

I think it's a pretty name. Musical. Classical, etc. But it sounds just like 'Liar'. Who wants to introduce himself or herself as 'Hi! I'm Liar!'.

(The other pronunciation, 'Leer', is just as bad!)

What are your opinions on this?

I was almost brought to tears by your description. Something about it really hit my nostalgia nerve and brought back emotions from my own youth (roughly 15 years ago). All of my first 'experiences' were in public places. I did far worse than what you guys have done in places like a park bench, an alley, a construction site, etc. On several occasions people walked up on us! No biggie though, adults just figure it's kids being kids. Except the one time we were in someone's back yard... they chased us off. In fact, I've made out publicly recently. I live in a city now so you can do whatever you want and other people don't care - much different than my suburban upbringing.Anyway, the point is you did nothing wrong. Just make sure you're happy with the pace of things with this guy. You have the power to slow him down, but you have to be confident enough to say something. This is very important. As long as you're both happy with the pace of your growing affections, feels free to do those things and more wherever the hell you feel like. It's not like you guys have your own apartments. If you're parents don't want to invite him over so you guys can make out all day on the couch, then take to the streets (or park bench!) and do your business there.

What is your opinion about the dowry system?

Dowrys are still going strong in Thailand. When parents approve of a daughter's marriage to a suitor, they expect something in return. It is not unusual for the whole family to be involved in the negotiations and often men go deep into debt in order to pay off the family. It is considered a sign of love and pride to give money to a fiancee's family in Thailand. Women who have children, or have been married already generally don't get dowrys.

My opinion? Cultures are different.

What would be your opinion if I say that I plan to lie to my boss that one of my parent/grandparent died and ask for a 3-month leave, so that I can study for my Google interview or learn AI/basic CS?

You asked for an opinion. Okay, you asked for it!You are totally ignorant of what it takes to get a job at Google if you think you can cram “basic CS” in three months and that this will make you qualified to work at Google. But that’s not the worst thing about your plan.Lying about your parent dying for selfish and fraudulent reasons is unethical and shows poor judgment. If your employer finds out about this, they won’t trust you again, ever. If Google finds out about this, they won’t trust you either. It’s a bad idea to make a plan whose success depends on people not finding out what you’re really doing. It’s pretty likely they will find out, then you’ll be screwed. You will have squandered your reputation.Anyone over the age of five should be able to stop themselves from making this blunder, without having to ask for opinions on Quora.Former FBI Director Robert Mueller said it well:“You can be smart, aggressive, articulate and indeed persuasive, but if you are not honest, your reputation will suffer, and once lost a good reputation can never, ever be regained,” he said.“As the saying goes, if you have integrity, nothing else matters, and if you do not have integrity, nothing else matters.”

What would be your opinion of this woman? Will you call her pretentious? Is it polite to point out the conflict?

The idea of a woman working is still pretty new and radical. The idea of a woman working who doesn't have to is often a veiled insult to her husband.  In the movie Yentl, Barbra Streisand (Anshel) disguises herself as a boy so she can go to school.  One of the classmates falls in love with her, and is overcome with shame because of his "unclean" feelings.  Out of friendship, she explains that he's not "unnatural;" in some way he senses she's a woman.  He's overcome with joy and starts making plans for a wedding -- plans in which she drops out of school, learns to cook his favorite dinner, walks with her eyes downcast.  She refuses and has to leave the town.In that kind of life, a woman who didn't drive the Benz and wear the Givenchy is belittling her husband.  She may be angry at having to be the w0man she is now, which may not have been the woman she wanted to be.  I know a woman in the U.S. who was raised to believe that a good mother stays at home and raises the children.  This woman has a Master's degree in counseling, and didn't want to stay home.  The anger she carried constantly and the drugs prescribed to control it, didn't make her a very good mother.  But her Anglo-from Indiana culture wouldn't let her keep her job and hire a nanny.  I watched fifteen years of rage and depression until the father got a divorce and custody of the kids.  Now she's trying to make a life with credentials that are twenty years out of date.Don't measure a woman's life by what it is if you can't compare it to what she wanted it to be.

What would be your opinion of the Avengers 4 title being Avengers: Annihilation?

You know what other movie used such a generic title like Annihilation? Please…Make the bad memories go away. :(

What would be your opinion about Islam, if (see details)?

Islaam, like other so called religions are made up stories but there is clear evidence of it originating in Africa. Maybe it was designed to bring some meaning to peoples lives.Rev. 1.10–14 describes Yeshua of being a man with hair like wool and white. It also describes his skin of burnt bronze.Ofcourse one can interpret whatever they want to. Islaam, however, Islaam was created between Mecca and Yathrib (Medina) and although some may claim it to have been defence, it basically was cemented on battles and a violent end to the men of Yathrib dispite who believes was the aggressor. The God of Abraham was a jealous and vengeful being/person and caused destruction unless people submitted to him. Allah is the same, whereas, Christianity appears to be the better of the three somewhat.Saheeh Muslim - 1769Narrated Aisha:[The beginning is irrelevant]So when the Messenger of Allah (SAW) came back from the trench, he put his weapon aside and washed up. So Jibreel [Gabriel] came to him while he [Mohammad] was removing the dust [from the battle] off his head and [Gabriel] said,"You have laid your weapon aside?! By Allah we won't [lay our weapons aside]. Go out to [fight] them."So the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said,"Where [shall I go/fight]?"So he [Gabriel] pointed to Bani Quraytha. Thus the Messenger of Allah (SAW) fought them and they surrendered to his judgement, so the Messenger of Allah (SAW) passed the judgement to Sa'd who said,"I judge them that the fighters [men - those who are capable of fighting] are to be killed, the children and women enslaved and the money divided [among the Muslims]."So the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said,"You have judged them with Allah's judgement."As for the Sun rising from the West.. Opinion - There is evidence that civilisation has been around for over 100s of 000s of years so maybe it did and created the ice age, to clean our stupidity.
