What is your favorite t.v show of all time?
For me, it comes from something of an emotional place. While there are many TV shows I can point to as “favorites”, the one that will probably always hold a very special place in my heart would be Doctor Who.Growing up a geek, I didn’t have many friends. Those I did have tended to share my interests and passions. Thus, when we found something we liked, we shared it with each other and obsessed over it near endlessly.Doctor Who was one such thing.I can remember it being one of the first sci-fi shows that really made us think about the story, plot, setting, etc. Mind you, we were all teenagers (or younger) and even though many of the stories would be seen as pedestrian to me now, when I was a kid, they were intense.I liked it because it didn’t “talk down” to us the way some other sci-fi did. The hero didn’t use violence, was always out-thinking his foes, and had some wonderful…companions to boot.While I like the rebooted Doctor and have enjoyed watching it recently, I don’t think anything will ever recapture the magic of watching it in my childhood.
