In your opinion, what are My Chemical Romance's saddest songs?

The first song ever that made me cry was Cancer because my dad had cancer and I know that he could have died. There's just so much raw emotion in this song and it's really just in your face sadness.I also actually think that I Never Told You What I Do For A Living is so sad. Just thinking about what it means and taking in all the sound makes me cry. Especially the part where Gerard sings “….and we're all dead now”, and then jumps into the chorus. This is my second favorite MCR so though.Desert Song is also really sad. To me it sounds that Gerard is about to cry in parts of it. The rasp in his voice and how it's so untouched and raw is really sad.And how could I forget Cemetery Drive! This is the second song that made me cry. It pains me to think about how his lover is dead and never coming back and he's grieving and crying and he missed her so far AND THE FEELS UUUGGGHHHHHLast song, I promise! (Get what I did there hehehehe I'm so not funny.) Early Sunsets Over Monroeville is the saddest in this list for me. I shed tears every time I hear this song, while the rest I can keep it together if I need to. The way Gee sings the song, it sounds as if it is paining him to do so, which just breaks my heart. He has so much raw talent in his vocals (how he can play so many different roles and make people feel so many different things with just his voice).

Thanks for the A2A. I'm not terribly familiar with MCR but I will say this much. I had a strained (and strange) relationship with my father. I viewed his life from the periphery and saw him do all sorts of thing with and for other kids I had always wanted him to do with and for me. He died very unexpectedly on Christmas morning in 2002 and I was pretty gutted. I sat down to write all the things I wanted to say to him and, as I did, I was shocked at the words that flowed from me to the page. While I thought I had anger and disappointment to express, what evolved was a 10 page letter thanking my father for giving me music. He introduced me to music, to records, to radio. He would play the great songwriters for me and through the course of my life I retained that and developed a love for those who set stories to melody. 10 pages of joy, of pure adulation for giving what continues to be the most important thing in my life; music. Now, getting back to your question, I know virtually nothing about My Chemical Romance but the first time I heard "Welcome to the Black Parade" I was reminded of that letter, of those memories, of my father taking me into the city. I cried my eyes out. That's what music does and that's why it's the most important thing in the world. While I can't answer your question in a way that may expand your catalog, I can answer in a way that means a great deal to me when I say "Welcome to the Black Parade" is a song I'd recommend.

It's a matter of opinion, really, and it very much depends on which albums you like. Commercially, Welcome to the Black Parade was their biggest hit - it reached #9 in the US charts.Personally, I have a couple of favourites from each album. I'll list them here going backwards:Boy Division and Make Room!!! from Conventional Weapons are good songs, but I'd have to say The Light Behind Your Eyes was my favourite.My favourites from Danger Days include Party Poison and The Only Hope for Me is You, but overall I think Summertime is the best.The Black Parade is MCR's best album, and likewise contains some of the best songs. But I do have a very clear favourite, and that's Famous Last Words.Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge is another great album, and contains some personal favourites like Give 'Em Hell, Kid and Thank You For The Venom, but my number one song from this album is definitely Cemetery Drive.Finally, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. This decision was difficult, but as much as I enjoy Our Lady of Sorrows, Headfirst for Halos just beats it.(Also, an honourable mention for Fake Your Death - that was a candidate for overall favourite!)If I had to pick a single favourite song, it's a tough call but I'd have to say Cemetery Drive. Its got meaningful lyrics and some great guitar.
