My WhatsApp web is not working. I'm using the Chrome browser on my Windows 8.1 laptop, and the internet speed is good. I opened web.whatsapp.com and the QR code doesn't load up. How can I fix this?

After doing some trial and error investigations, I found a solution as explained below,Follow the simple steps which may solve your problem too:Open Google chrome and type WhatsApp Web in the address bar.Click on Secure as shown in the below screenshot:Once the below pop up screen appears, click on Cookies (XX in use):In the next screen, select web.whastapp.com and then click on Remove button.Restart the Google Chrome and then access whatsapp web.Do let me know if you encounter any challenges.Edit 1: I have never expected that a small answer with few screen shots will give me monetary appreciation. I know it's really annoying. It's probably due to an IP conflict or something. I'm not sure. I FIXED it by following the below steps:Install a VPN/proxy management application like “Hotspot Shield”.Let that app assign a new IP to your device. Will using a VPN prevent you from getting hacked through your computer and phone?
The right answer is NO. VPNs encrypt traffic from point A (VPN Client) to point B (VPN Server). This traffic won't be easily decrypted that much is true but from point B to the web page or service you are connecting to the traffic can be sniffed, decrypted or in risk of man in the middle attacks (so now you have to consider TLS or other mediums of encryption from point B to the service). As you can see you are only tunneling your connections via the VPN but the traffic goes through. If you installed malware it will connect back to it's control server via your vpn tunnel. Traffic coming into your computer (scans, xploits, etc.) will still go thru forwarded by the VPN server. Padmanabhan Mahadevan already answered this correctly, even air gapped computers (the ones you purposely don't connect to the network as a security measure) get hacked eventually.So in short, we wish it was that simple to prevent a hack as using a VPN.

Click "CACHE", e. Click "CLEAR COOKIES FOR DOMAIN" f. Click "YES", g. Close BOTH windows. 2. Give a try with another profile3. Verify if it's an issue with rooted device4. You might need to use good process and cache cleaner software which will remove all junk files in the memory (I use Clean Master on Google play store )Most people on above mentioned forum seem to have solved this issue just by clearing out cookies.Hope this helps!
