When A Fair Uses A Ticket System Instead Of Money How Does That Work

Why is it cheaper to book airline tickets through a travel agent?

Agents sometimes have access to airline fares that the general public does not because consolidators purchase blocks from airlines (and hotels and car rental suppliers) at a discount guaranteeing the airline, hotel or car rental company a minimum amount of business.  Then those consolidators sell through travel agents at a discounted cost and everyone ends up with a great deal.  Large online search engines do the same thing but instead of passing on the savings to their customers, they often charge the same price as the airline's price to the consumer and pocket the entire difference.  That is just one of the reasons that using a travel agent is beneficial to the entire system, suppliers and customers alike.

NY LOTTERY QUESTION: how does the combo wager work on the daily game?

You are correct with the combos. There are 6 ways to jumble 537.

If you bought a ticket for $6, you would essentially have $1 on every combination. $1 straight pays $500.

Here's an interesting fact. Each individual combination has a 1 out of 1,000 chance of winning. You SHOULD get $1,000 for that bet! Paying only $500 means you are only getting 50% of what is a fair payout!!!

That is precisely how the lottery companies operate! They base their entire payout system on a 50% payback rate.

I want to be extremely clear about something. At a 50% payback rate, this easily makes buying these tickets the WORST bet on the planet! No other standard form of betting even comes close to being as bad as lottery tickets.

The lottery is nothing less than a TAX on the poor and on the ignorant.

Do police have to write a certain amount of tickets, do they make money by doing that?

Quotas are illegal and unconstitutional. Officers are paid by the hour, regardless of how many tickets they write. The money from tickets goes several places, but none of it is given to the officer or the department.

Since quotas became illegal, some departments came up with something called a "performance standard", but that differs from a quota in several ways. A performance standard is a way for supervisors to rate an officer's performance as compared to other officers. While a quota is a specific number, a performance standard is an average of all the other officer's performance and changes month to month.

The other significant difference is you can not be disciplined for failing to meet a performance standard, but you could be disciplined for failing to meet a quota. It may affect your chances of promotion or special duty assignments, but that is because you consistently have less production than the average officer.

As the why some officers seem to go out of their way, I can't answer that. Officers are given a lot of discretion. How they use it is up to them.

How much does an average trip to the state fair of texas cost?

You can spend very little, or hundreds of dollars. Yes it is worth going, even if you don't spend much money. Riding the train to the fair will be much cheaper and more convenient that parking. You can also purchase combo tickets that include train and admission. I would avoid the Texas/OU weekend if possible, it is so crowded you can hardly walk.
Almost all of the shows are free (the bird show is really good), you will spend the most money on food and drinks, and rides if you choose to ride them. You have to buy tickets for the food and rides. Check out bigtex.com.

How to fairly share season tickets within a group?

Thanks for all of the responses. I've added additional details. And, yes, this would be very easy to figure out if each person had the same amount of games. In that case, I wouldn't even be asking. Basically, any of the 41 games (remaining games) will be available for the taking for each pick. I'm just trying to find out the picking order. Obviously, there should be a point in the draft where all 5 guys have half of their games picked around the same time (ie. just before or just after Guy 1 has picked 7 games, Guy 5 picks his first game).

Parking ticket fine - the amount should be variable based on income?

All fines, not just parking fines should be like that.

The problem with fines is that a single mother on welfare would be hit very hard by a fine the likes of which a millionaire might not care about which creates a problem when it comes to determining how much a fine should be because if you set it high enough to hurt the millionaire and deter the rich guy it'll be too hard on the poor person while setting a fine that will hurt a poor person but not be too hard on them will result in the rich guy not caring about it.

This might result in some arguments over how much a person should get but it would go a long way to fixing the problems of inequality that fines present.

Besides, pretty much every civilised country does it in their tax system anyway.

How to beat this speeding ticket in California?

I was clocked at 88 in a 70 on I-5. I can't really read most of what was written on the copy of the citation I was given, as the lettering is very faint.

The Code and Section says 22352 (B), and it is an infraction (not a misdemeanor).

It was at night, dry conditions, moderately heavy traffic (cars all around me). I can't figure out what the officer used to clock me. As far as I can tell it says something like "# lin at 587 ft." which I assume is supposed to explain what he used.

The box that says Radar/Lidar Unit/Patrol Vehicle No. is checked and before the number there is an "L" that is circled (was he using lidar then?).

Also the county was Kern county, if that matters. My court location is in Taft, which blows because I go to school over an hour away (where I was driving to at the time).

My questions are:

I am 19 and this is my first ever ticket. Is this ticket worth fighting? If I do decide to fight it, what are my chances? (assuming I do all the diligence I need to do, such as requesting the surveys, last radar calibration, etc)

If I fight it and lose, what happens? Can I still go to traffic school to get the dmv point removed? Will it cost me a lot in court fees, etc?

I really don't want to pay the money for the ticket because I am a poor college student. Hell, the ticket is probably going to cost a large fraction of the cost of the car, not to mention the increased insurance cost.

Thanks in advance for the help.
