When Are You Buying A Next Gen Console

When are you buying a next gen console?

never.

you cant call a console next gen when its all most an exact copy of the last console the company made. what new features does the ps4 or xbox one have that make them so great that you must buy them, besides the new games that will inevitable only be able to be bought on those consoles.

the wiiU was more bloody next gen than the ps4 and xbox one, as it changed the console and bring new ideas to the plate, allowing you to use a handheld device to play with your friends on the tv, or even play a game used for the tv, on a hand held device. that's intuitive...

and for the first year or so, most of the new console games will also have console ports for the old console, while keeping some of the really good ones for the newest console. for example, dead rising 3? that will probably be a xbox one only, yet that huge robot fighter game you see constant adds on the 360 about will have a console port for the 360 too

Which next-gen console will you buy:PS4, Xbox One, or WiiU? Why?

As it will be some years before I need to replace my PS3, it's hard to tell. If I had to choose today, however, it would be the Xbox One. Why?I am not a hardcore gamer. The XBox one seems like it has and will continue to have more non-game entertainment options.Did I mention I'm not a hardcore gamer? I play games maybe an hour a month. I own four games. I've never wanted to sell one, never wanted to borrow someone else's games, and thus don't care about any of that stuff. I also never done multiplayer online gaming and have no intention of ever doing so.I'm hoping the XBox One will eventually allow me to get rid of the cable box. The PS4 hasn't made any moves in that direction, and it's a bit of a thing for me.Based on Ariel Williams' answer, it seems like the XBox One will have a slower fade into technological obsolescence.I'm intrigued by Kinect, which I've read is better, more sophisticated and more versatile than  the Sony Camera (or whatever it's called)And because I don't care about the biggest complaints people are making about the XBox One. Required Internet connection? My PS3 is already permanently connected to my WiFi. (Honestly, I don't understand the fuss over this issue: I assumed that our consoles have been permanently connected to the Internet for years. It's like getting mad when your employer says all employees are required to shower daily. Don't you do that already?) Oh, and the privacy issue with the Kinect? A non-issue. To save electricity, I turn off the power strip that my game, cable box, and TV are plugged into when not in use. Let's see Kinect invade my privacy now. (And heck, if it bothers you so much? Throw a towel over it when you're not using it. How hard is that?)To put it succinctly, I'd pick the XBox One because I'm not interested in a gaming console. I'm interested in a media/home entertainment hub-like device that happens to have gaming capabilities.

Should I buy a next generation console or a gaming laptop?

Depends. If you want to switch often between game and an ocassional browsing session or some other work, then get a laptop. If you want to dedicate your time to gaming completely, then  get a console. There are some games which are console exclusive like Uncharted and Killzone. Although, almost every PC game is available for the console. So i'd suggest you buy a console for pure gaming purposes and invest the remaining money in a decent performer Ultrabook (if you can afford to do). But get a decent LED TV too to enjoy the gaming experience and couple it with a pair of good speakers and/or a gaming headphone, preferably from TurtleBeach.

Should I buy the Xbox One X or wait for the next console generation?

It depends. If you want to play games at 4K, the XBOX One X is a good choice. However, it has its problems. For one, very few console games support 4K 60fps, so you may end up playing games at the same resolution and frame rate as an XBOX One. Also, you will have to pay to play multiplayer. This is one of the things about consoles that ticks me off. You pay for something, and then they charge you to use your own internet connection! This cost to play online will probably still be present in newer consoles as well. The only way to get free multiplayer is to switch to PC.Also, what console (if any) do you currently have? If you are running the XBOX 360/PS3 or older, an upgrade definitely makes sense. However, if you have the XBOX One/PS4 or later, you shouldn’t upgrade unless you really want 4K.I think there aren't enough 4K games for the XBOX One X to justify its price of $500. You are likely better off waiting for the next generation after the X to upgrade as of now.

Is PC gaming better than consoles?

I've been a fan of Nintendo and Xbox pretty much all my life. I have the Wii and Xbox 360 right now. I was going to buy the next generation of consoles but I've heard that PC gaming is better? In what ways is it better?
Graphics aren't everything when it comes to gaming but they're still important. Are the graphics better?
Why do people say it's cheaper if a PC for gaming would cost about the same price for the PS4?
I've heard that more mature and older gamers play on PC, so I won't get any trash talk from a 12 year old. Which sounds amazing. Is that true?
As for the Software updates, do they take longer than the ones on Xbox 360? Are they more frequent?
I heard a new console called the Ouya is coming out. I like indie games and the Ouya sounds awesome but the hackers would ruin it for me. Is PC gaming at least friendlier to indie game developers than Microsoft and Sony?
How does the keyboard and mouse compare to playing with the controller?
Which games that are available for consoles wouldn't be available to me for the PC?

I don't really know much about PC gaming, I've Googled but most of what I find is tech talk, something about rams and whatnot. I don't get it lol. Sorry I have so much questions but I'd appreciate it if you could answer as many as you can the best you can and provided links where I could learn more. Please and thank you! :3

Which gaming console should I buy, Xbox or PlayStation? Should I wait for the next-gen consoles?

Which gaming console should I buy, Xbox or PlayStation?Which one do you want?If all your friends are playing on one of those systems, get the same one as they have. Or get the other one if you don’t want to play with them. If you have no friends, get whichever one has the games you want to play.I personally bought the PS4 because of Onechanbara, Dead Or Alive Xtreme and Senran Kagura. Sorry, Master Chief. Also (this part isn’t applicable to you) at that time, there was no such thing as the Xbone S and I needed a console that could stand straight up.Long story short, either get whichever one your friends are playing on or has the exclusives you want (like Crackdown 3 or Spiderman).Should I wait for the next-gen consoles?Nobody knows when the next-gen consoles are going to come out and Christmas is around the corner. There will be sales. If you don’t have a 4k TV, then don’t bother with the more expensive X or Pro. If you think the price for a S(lim) bundle is still too high, get a second-hand phat console.I wrote another answer that applies to the Playstation here: Andrew Goh's answer to Is it safe to buy a PS4 at the end of 2017?Longer story short, it really just depends on which games you want to play. If there are more games on one console than the other - or just one exclusive game you want to play - then get that console. Get a second-hand one if the sales bundles are still over your budget.

I am thinking of buying a video game console. Shall I go for a PS3, a PS4, or some Xbox?

Everyone asking you to buy the current gen PS4 as it is the future, new games will releasing only on these consoles, etc.I would suggest you to get a past gen console. Why?Sony PS3 is a great machine with BluRay drive.800+ game library.More AAA hit titles.Games will be in platinum or GOTY edition less than $20.For around $300, you can get PS3 console + ~10 games. It'll take you at least 8 to 10 months to complete all the top rated games. By that time PS4 gets a better price, they may release a new model or even an upgraded version of PS4. If you directly jump to the currentgen console you will definitely miss a lot of great games that released on PS3. Only few PS3 titles may  re-releases on PS4.What about Xbox360 or Xbox One?I strongly recommend not to get any of those. Xbox 360 machine is a failure. It's going to fail sooner or later. Xbox one is a weak machine compared to PS4. Runs games at 900P while PS4 delivers at 1080P. Not a Sony fanboy. I own all the consoles. My money is on Sony anytime. Microsoft lost my trust when they came up with absurd policies. They tried to screw the gamers. But they got screwed themselves. The choice is yours. First go with Sony. Find out which console your friends are on. If you are going to play multiplayer then it's better to get their console. If you are going to stick with single player then get PS3.

How long until next Xbox console is released do you think?

You could buy a PC and never have to worry about getting "the latest gen console" because you're pc doesn't have generations where you lose everything you paid for when you upgrade. You can just upgrade the graphics card anytime you want to play games at better graphics settings, resolutions, and fps. (also all xbox exclusives like forza and halo are released on pc too now, so)

There's many more perks to PC gaming as well, including but not limited to: can use any controller from any system on it, no online fees, cheaper games, more games and genres, can use any hardware or software you want, can use mods on almost every game available, more options for graphics, resolutions and fps and much more.

As for the question itself, it will likely be at least 2-3 years before they release a new console. (the other guy is delusional thinkings the console will last 10 years. The xbox one is already kind of outdated, and the xbox one x is honestly only a lower-mid tier pc).

If you are dead set on buying an xbox, there's no point in not buying the newest one. Even without a 4k tv, the xbox one x will offer better game performance and still possibly better visuals (assuming games are patched to make use of the extra hardware). Honestly, the xbox one X is not a good choice for 4k gaming anyway, its not playing at native 4k on anything that isnt an old game produced by microsoft. (like forza horizon 3 runs at 4k, but that game is like 2-3+ years old already. forza 7 is out, and not running at native 4k lol)

What's the difference between new generation consoles and old generation consoles?

Hello i'm looking forward to buying a new console but i'm wondering why I should get the new generation consoles all the new consoles are having the same games as the old consoles I know theirs a few games that the old console has but does that really matter? Will the new consoles have a bunch of new games that the old consoles won't have?
