Multiple 'drafts' are being saved when composing messages.?

I don't really have an answer. This problem cropped up very recently. When I send a single message, then go to "sent" I find several copies of that message. I am particularly offended because last night I received a death notice from my first cousin. Her youngest daughter had just died. I sent a reply without thinking about the mail site's problem, but it too was cloned when I checked "sent." Presumably she received spam - what a crappy thing in such a situation! I do have a suggestion: when hackers are caught (I assume Yahoo has been hacked), take them to a wall, line them up and shoot them dead! They are genuine human filth...

How can I retrieve a discarded draft on Gmail?

Found myself in a similar situation today. Some very important info which i used to keep in draft, and i clicked 'Discard draft' by mistake, and i recognized my mistake too late (after 30 seconds slot provided by gmail as pointed by @Dick hoe)Then as usual i tried googling the web with a hope that i may find a solution, but with no success. Fortunately, i use gmail on my smart phone as well with auto refresh mode off. What i did next was :1) Switched off all the sources of data connection (Wifi/Mobile data).2) Opened the gmail app.3) Went to Drafts section, and yess.. The Draft which i discarded was present there in the application cache... :).. I copied that data and secured it...I think this may be helpful for some.

Why aren't professors responding to my email for a PhD position?

I have contacted professors from different countries including US, UK, China, and South Korea. However, the majority didn't reply to my emails for months.I have included the following in my email:1. Why I am contacting him/her2. Brief background on my experiences and research expertise3. What I am looking to achieve and why I am interested in their research group4. Attached a detailed academic CVThis is an example of what I wrote to them“ Dear Prof. X,I am writing to inquire about any available research opportunities including PhD position or working on publication under your supervision.I am working as a X, and I have recently completed my Master’s degree in X from X with a X GPA. I came across your profile while working on X project that investigated X. As you can see in my CV, I have experience in X. I developed an interest in X topic, and currently, I am working on a study of X. My work experiences allowed me to work on different research projects that helped me develop my X, X, and X skills.Kindly let me know if you are still accepting PhD students or if there is an opportunity to work on the publication. I have attached my CV for your review and would be available to discuss any possible opportunities.I look forward to a favourable reply!Yours Sincerely,X”I would Like to know what am I doing wrong? As I even included that if a PhD position is not available, then I would like to work with them (under their supervision with other graduate students) on publications. Many Thanks!

How do you save a draft copy in the new Yahoo mail?

I leave it open for 3 mins. to make sure it's saved, as I've learned less than 3 min. I will sometimes open to a blank email. Once there is 3 min. difference between my clock and what the draft has as a time, I click on the word draft in my file area. It will close the email but leave the page open. Done this for thousands of drafts and it works every time. It works the same for a reply or forward draft.
If you want to move it out of draft without emailing it, you have to change the compatibility view setting to get back to the old version of Yahoo. Then delete, take it out of trash and then move it to whichever folder you want. Don't forget to change your compatibly view again when you are all done. It sounds complicated, but it's easy once you've done it.

In the new version of Yahoo Mail the "save draft" option is missing, how can you get it back?

Here is a "workaround". It takes some time and preparation, but it will serve as a working save draft mechanism in the interim.

Compose your draft, and e-mail it to yourself, making sure to enable the "Save to sent messages" function. Use "Draft" as the first word in the message title to make it easier to spot.

To continue work, highlight & copy the text, click "Compose", then paste the text to the composition field. Repeat the send & copy process for each draft modification, then give it the proper title and send it to the proper recipient when the message is all done.

If you are working on or keeping multiple drafts at once, you can also go to your "Folders" section, create a new folder, and name it "Drafts", and move the drafted messages from your "Sent" box over to it. They can then be copied & pasted to the compose window for further work.

An added bonus of this is that if you share your machine, it will allow you to conceal them from prying eyes or meddling fingers.

Why can't I send emails? it just sits in my outbox?

Yahoo is doing updates to Games, Finance, Notepad, Calendar, Answers, YMail, Messenger. All at the same time. The work is causing disruptions. Only 2% of all users are experiencing problems at any one time (blank screens, frozen screens, unable to get into email, unable to open emails, unable to use email attachments, delete button missing, Calendar+Notepad entries missing, can't play games, can't update financial portfolios, etc). The problems last for 1 hour to 1 week. Then they clear up with no action by the user. But a new group of users finds themselves unable to get the site to work. Not everyone is eventually affected; but many are. None of the normal "HELP" tips work.
This is not the first time that we have experienced these effects. Yahoo does these updates yearly. You can go back into the Resolved Questions to find the same problems in 2009,2010,2011. After 6-12 weeks, Yahoo will be finished working. All of the problems will disappear at once.
Today, the only thing you can do is to switch browsers for a few days (altho Yahoo is supposed to work with all browsers). Or just sit back and wait until Yahoo fixes things. They always do.
Read the daily list of question in the Yahoo Products category to prove to yourself that you are not the only one experiencing the problem that you mention.

How many unfinished drafts do you have on Quora?

So far, I never have more than one unfinished draft here on Quora, and it's only temporary when I do.When I first started writing here a couple of years ago, I didn't understand that Quora saved unfinished answer drafts. So I got in the habit of writing with a text editor and then pasting the answer into Quora when I was ready to post.I did notice that Quora was saving the answer to a draft as I finalized it before submission, but I wasn't sure if more than one answer could be held in the "draft bucket" (I know, some things are over my head). So whether using Quora on my Windows desktop computer or the Android app on my smartphone, I always do the composing with a text editor (even on simple answers). The process goes like this:Compose answer in Microsoft Word or Android writing app.Determine if any images will be needed, then locate them (or create them).Click Quora answer button.Paste text into Quora answer with spaces where any images will go.Add images as needed.Add embellishments like bold letters, italics, quote blocks, bullets, etc.Add source for images, references, etc.ProofreadClick submit button. My answers may take up to several hours to compose, but the draft process in Quora is just a matter of transferring the nearly completed answer into Quora, touching it up, and voilà.Once I found out that I could save multiple drafts on Quora I laughed at my ignorance, but I still continue to compose outside of Quora because it's the "old dog, new trick" syndrome. While writing this answer, I am thinking that maybe I should get with the program and start saving drafts on Quora, because I can compose answers without the overhead of sometimes sending them to Dropbox, which allows me to write from multiple devices prior to posting, which I do on occasion.Or maybe I should just leave well enough alone.
