Why are people now a days becoming more & more selfish?
The answer lies in our origin. If you have studied science and especially biology you will understand that we all are born animals. Charles Darwin made a theory which states” Survival of the fittest.” If you translate the theory in layman’s term it means that the animal who is strongest will survive and the weak ones will perish. Now the strength can be of body and mind, but it is the mental strength that matters the most.Now comes the best part. Firstly by our mental strength we became the conquerors of this entire world and started treating other animals as our slaves and we are eating them daily and abusing them for our selfish motives. As other animals except human can’t speak so we are unable to hear their cry. Now humans have gone a step further and have started abusing each other and also mother nature which has given birth to all of us and we are destroying mother nature day by day by a lethal weapon which we call development.So my friend which we actually call development is nothing but human greed as we are not satisfied by the means which we have in hand and we are always eager to have more. On the contrary other animals have limited requirements and are not so greedy. A Lion who is considered as king of the jungle only hunts when he is hungry and if he is well fed then he will not kill someone.Now comes the sad part. This entire nature is a very well balanced Ecosystem and we all can live in harmony with fellow human beings and all other animals and this is the best way also. This thing was understood by humans thousands of years ago and is also mentioned in many ancient books. That is why they treated elements of nature like water, fire and air etc as their gods and worshiped and thanked them for fulfilling their all requirements of life.And the final part. Greed is good for personal benefits. But ultimately this human greed will destroy human race, other animals and also mother nature. So the humans who consider themselves intelligent are destroying their future for today’s sake. And they are not aware of it as they lack foresightedness so see the future of human race. It is a bitter truth but such greedy people have occupied all the important posts in this world and good, intelligent and selfless people are not given any importance in this world and their number is decreasing day by day as wicked people are sabotaging this world.
Tolerance: Why are so many people intolerant these days?
Being in an era of advanced technology has pros as well as cons,but the reasons of restlessness and being intolerant has diverse reasons-Religion-This clash occurs as since the child starts to grasp worldly things,he/she is taught about own religion and thus he/she is aware of the contemporary differences.And as till now this thing has been continued and no family has started teaching their child in a neutral way,turmoil exists.Satisfaction-In chase of BMW,AUDI,RADO etc(Premium lifestyle),man is lacking satisfaction what he has which leads to impatience and thus is reflected in daily lifePartner-youth striving for marriages of their choice,parents give their 100% to pull their children's leg in doing what they do.sexual orientation is not being respected.If child doesnot want to get married they are not free to do so.only shackles are seen around which also leads to impatience.discussion can be stretched to any extent.Need of the hour is to open our minds (be it practicing meditation or the way which makes you happy)Life will end one day.At death bed no regrets should be there.
How do I get over my low tolerance of stupid people?
When I married the first time, I was 21. The first time I met my husband's mother, I was appalled. She knew every old wives' tale there was and believed them wholeheartedly (cats that steal babies' breath, joint snakes...the list goes on). Her only reading material was The National Enquirer, and she had never been out of our Midwestern state, and never more than a few hundred miles from home.She didn't like or trust me because I was intelligent and college educated. I thought she was a backwoods hick.And yet -- over the years we came to respect each other. We spent quite a bit of time together after the kids came because I thought it was important they have good relationships with their grandparents, and my husband didn't care, so if they visited, it was up to me to take them.She'd listen to me when I played Snopes to her old wives' tales; I'd listen to her tell me about her time of being a single mom and opening a tiny diner to make enough money to get by, her kids' childhoods, and how to cook. We actually came to enjoy each other's company despite having very little in common.When her son (my husband) turned out to be a complete and total jerk, she took my side and told me that I could divorce him, but I was stuck with her -- and we became "out-laws" instead of "in-laws". She's been gone for many years now, but I still miss her.What I'm telling you here is that it's not about the intelligence, it's about the heart of someone. Your life will be considerably poorer if you cut people out of it because they're not "smart enough". I don't know how you change except by being open to people who mean well. Maybe you can start by considering yourself a mentor to the world at large. I think you will be surprised at what you yourself will learn in the process.
Why do people use the baby argument?
Ok so I have been reading all the "Why is being gay wrong?" questions and I must say I have to set the intolerant ones straight, metaphorically. First off, I'm gay and catholic and I know God loves me because he made me this way... I never made a choice, I'm not diseased and I assure you it is no "phase." However, the main argument I see from the intolerant is that two men can not make a baby on their own and vice versa for women. So the point of all marriage is to have children? I agree it's a part of marriage if you wish it to be. But what about heterosexual couples that are sterile? Should they not be allowed to marry and be together because they can never produce a baby and for that matter what about the handicapped? This proposterous argumnet is seriously flawed. Gay can adopt and give children the un-conditional love they need in their lives.... does the gender of the parents truly determine this? Last time I heard love knew no bounds. Another argument I find is that every child I gay couple has (adoption or surrogacy) IS a wanted child. Since we can't concieve on a drunken bender, like heterosexuals, we have children when we feel we are ready and are as prepared as can be. I'm not going to go out one night and have a sleazy one night stand and then weeks later have a woman come to me, tell me she is pregnant and all of a sudden there is a child that neither wanted or planned on. I just see this whole marriage = babies argument seriously ridiculous. Do people not think anymore? Anyway, why do you suppose people use such flawed logic?
Why do old people get cranky?
CRANKY!! What the hell!? How old is the person who wrote this question?? How dare you talk about cranky!? Don't make me come down there and show you what cranky is, Buster!Seriously, as you get older the accumulation of experiences leads to an ability to more quickly detect BS, and the awareness of less time in the future removes the reluctance to call it. On the other hand, the awareness of the preciousness and shortness of human experience also leads to an appreciation of the vulnerability of endearing human foibles, and a greater mellowness and tolerance. It is true that the increasing physical annoyances of aging can cause impatience that could be mistaken for crankiness. God willing, if you're lucky, you will live to learn the answer to this question.
Why do people in Italy give Americans dirty looks?
I'm Italian I don't think that Italians get impressed by new trend so much and we are not intolerant at all. Is not clear to me if you were snob or we were snob. Is intolerance and hatred of stupidity evil?
"Voluntary stupidity" can be defined more ways than one. Few if any people wake up one morning and decide "today I will embrace the stupidest view ever conceived". Everyone who is passionate about their view, no matter how patently "wrong", sincerely tends to believe theirs is the most accurate form. To be conscious of fallacy and continuing with it, is a form of voluntary stupidity, but this rarely applies even to the most "small minded" sort out there. Besides, all people tend to mature and grow in wisdom, just happens on their own time, whether earlier in life or even death bed, there is no fixed timetable outlining when one will come to their senses. Your question almost suggests you are more impatient than "hateful". You desire sanity and wisdom to rule "yesterday", you want ideal world "five minutes ago" :) Patience, compassion, and "unceasing guidance" are other traits of wisdom. The patience to suffer fools until they see the light, the child-like compassion for fools if they never do, the guiding spirit to help them see eventually if they can. Even a fool can be indignant towards bigger fools, but, takes someone wise to figure out patient caring intelligent ways of persuading fools. Above all, takes someone wise to put it all in such context so as to realize relative to what can be known, relative to super-intelligence, even the greatest fool and wisest of sages are pretty much equally "stupid". Humanity is a child-like/ish race, even what we consider significant developmental differences between us, the wise realize are ultimately negligible. -Pat.
Is short temper a characteristic for immature people...?
They're related, but not much, since my dad is about 50 years old and he has the shortest temper in humanity's story. Which caused him to "attack" me a few times when I didn't want to see his movies. A hardcore pain in the a**. Some get angered easily because of very high blood pressure, I think my dad has that. Some, like me, get angered easily by irrationality because they're "sensitive" to insults and such. A very "irrational" friend of mine pissed me off today with destroying something I had made and then saying it was pathetic I had made something as stupid as that in a hour, making him look even more stupid. We got caught in a long fight and it ended up as irrational as him saying "People with OCD are just half-lives". If I hadn't thrown him out of my house before I was seriously pissed off I had beaten him silly. I don't really know what kind of anger this is myself, I was completely stressed out after that, but.. I just don't see rationality in what he did...
